Derrick says he and I need to talk. Really? I find myself wondering more about why he would ever want to talk to me in the first place rather than what he might actually want to talk to me about overall. Derrick's popular. He and I wouldn't mesh even long enough to have any sort of simple conversation. Why should we even try in the first place?
I start to ignore him whenever he tries to catch my attention in the halls after that. "Don't do this, Manny." ,he keeps groaning at me over and over again. "I thought you were supposed to be the mature one out of the two of you."
Mature? Me? Yeah...that's funny. I don't know if enough of me ever even really got the chance to grow up enough to really be mature in the first place.
