Curse of the Imprint

After being unconcious for what seemed like days, Skarlet opened her
eyes and tried to focus on her surroundings. Everything in her body
ached for something, craving for it. The door to her room opened, causing
her to jump. In walked a very handsome man, smiling down at her. Not knowing
who he was, Skarlet inched away as he got closer.

"Hello Skarlet, please do not be afraid. My name is Carlisle Cullen and I'm
here to help you." The stranger said, taking a seat on the chair next to her bed.

Many miles away, the Cullen family awaited the arrival of their so called father. He has
been away for a couple of weeks now, leaving for an important reason. The doctors at
the hospital in which Carlisle worked at has sent him to help out a fellow hospital in Oregon.
Calisile had sent word that he will be arriving soon, but he would not be alone. Alice Cullen
had seen who he was bringing to their house in her vision, but under strict orders Carlisle
told her not to ruin the surprise.

After three hours of waiting, Alice whispered, "He is coming now."

The family grouped together at the front door, all eager to see who
Carlisle brought back. Within minutes, a grey mustang pulled into
the drive way.

"Okay, remember to be nice." Esme reminded her family and they
huddled up around her.

Soon, the front door opened revealing Carlisle with a big smile on
his face. He walked in slowly and said, "Family, I want you to meet
Skarlet."

Moving to the left, Carlisle made way for the new born to enter the house.
Once he moved away from in front of her, Skarlet stared back
at six new people. Obviously intimidated, Skarlet slowly inched her way
into the house.

"Oh Carlisle, she is lovely." Esme said walking up to the new born and embraced her in a hug.

Skarlet stood at a good five feet six inches, with long brunette hair, flowing
past her shoulders.She had a tough personality, finding the need to fight for
everything she believed in, no matter the consequences. A personality
Calisle sure admired. She was just seventeen when she had been changed a couple
weeks ago. Before she had changed, Skarlet had lovely icy blue eyes.

"My name is Esme, you don't have to be so shy sweetie." Esme said
pulling out of the hug.

Smiling, Skarlet felt a certain calm rush through her, a feeling of ease and relief.
Confused Skarlet looked at Carlisle.

"Ah, well this is Jasper, he is like you, special." Carlisle said putting his arm
on Jasper's shoulder. He added, "Jasper can alter your emotions."

The rest of the family gave a welcoming hug to the new vampire, all
loving the fact to have a new sister.

"Hi, I'm Alice and we are going to get along really well." The short, bubbly
girl said, making Skarlet smile big.

"Come let us all go into the living room so I can explain." Carlisle said,
directing everyone into the room next to them. Alice held Skarlet's hand, gently
pulling her along.

"Well, you all know that when I went to Oregon it was to help their hospital because
they were under staffed. I was stationed in the emergency room, and that is where
I met Miss Skarlet. Her parents were killed in a car crash due to a drunk
driver, sending her to my department barely alive."

Skarlet shifted, uncomfortable to hear to story about her parents.

Carlisle smiled at her, then continued, " I had a brief conversation with
her before she slowly started fading. We were losing her. I had no other choice.
I needed to save her, because she wasn't ready."

Carlisle then continued to tell them that he had already explained to Skarlet
about what they are and everything else she needed to know. Now it time for the
best part of the surprise.

"Skarlet, remember how I mentioned that certain vampires contain special gifts?"

"Yeah."

"Well, Alice, Edward, and Jasper here are some of the many. You see Alice can see into
the future, that is how she tends to know things before everyone else. Edward can read
people's minds, which has come in handy in the past. You already know of Jasper's gift."

Skarlet nodded, feeding off the new information.

"And this is also where you come in, you too have an unique power, but
for did not figure it out yet."

Confused, Skarlet looked at him, waiting for him to continue. The Cullens also
looked at Carlisle confused, well all except Edward and Alice who had already figured it out.
