Curse of the Imprint

What to do?

Jacob continued to walk in the direction in which Skarlet
walked, he tried not to think much about anything, because
he knew the guys were listening on his thoughts.
Finally when he looked up, he saw the lovely beauty in
view. His heart started to beat even faster.
Skarlet turned and gave him a glare. Jacob's fast excited
heartbeat began to die down as he notice she wasn't
intending on much.
Deciding for it best not to stay in his wolf body,
so the others won't hear him, he transformed back
into his human form. Plus he did not think
Skarlet prefered to talk to a dog.

"Whats with the face?" He asked, not intending to
sound bitter.
"Look I came here to explain a few things. I am
not sure how this whole imprinting thing works,
but the last I checked I can find my own love."
"Believe me, I'm not thrilled about this."
"Good then, you understand that this,"
Skarlet said pointing to him and herself.
"Is not going to happen. No offence but I
already hate your guts."
Getting angry, Jacob glared at her, surprised
that she would admit such a thing without
even getting to know him. Remembering what
he told himself, to fight the imprint, to
prove to it that it had made a mistake on
choosing a cold one as his love.
"What the fuck did I do?" he asked, partially
yelling.
"You almost had my family killed!"
"If you understand anything about this treaty,
you would know that it meant a great deal, it
was not a joke!"
"But they are my family! How dare you go
and try to take them away."
"Listen new born, imagine when someone makes
a deep promise to you, and then they decide to break
it, how would you take it?" Jacob said completely
ticked off.
Skarlet stared at him, sadly having nothing to say.
"Exactly! I understand that they may be your new
family, and saved you or whatever, but that treaty
meant more to us than you do!"
Jacob began to pace back and forth, trying desperately
not to change back into his wolf form, knowing
that if he did, he would do something he might regret.
Skarlet witnessed, that Jacob was trying not to
let his anger get the best of him.
"And for your information, thanks to this so
called curse that you call the imprint, it saved
your family! Sam decided not to because of us!
and if you can't comprehend that then maybe
you should keep your mouth shut until you do."
To be honest, Skarlet has never seen someone become
so angry, especially towards her. If she could cry,
those tears would have been flowing a long time ago.
"Before my father turned me, my real parents died
in an accident. The Cullens are all I have now.
When I heard that your pack was going to destroy them,
all I could do was hate you, because you were the one
that told them." she whispered.
"It is my duty to inform the pack when people
break the rules. The fact that they went back on
their word is the one reason why we continue to
dislike them. They are the reason we were created!"
Jacob told her, showing signs of calming down a bit.
"Trust me, I don't want to love you, but it seems
that fate says otherwise." he added without
looking at her.
Skarlet stood there, confused on what to say or how
to feel. All she knew was that she felt bad. Her
family had broken their word by creating her, and yet
the wolves had still spared their lives, truthfully
she was greatful for them.
"I'm sorry, you're right I didn't understand. Its just
I was worried that everything I have will be taken
away from me again, and I did not realize the big picture.
I guess the news about this situation also kinda
scared me." she mumbled.
Jacob stared at her, outside showed anger and despise but
inside showed compassion.
"Imagine how I feel, I was created to kill the very
thing I ended up imprinting on. The pack feels bad
for me! Like I disappointed them."
Skarlet started to feel worse about herself. She
doesn't blame the wolves, she understood the
torment of what it might be to have your friends
see you end up choosing the enemy.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be, neither of us are to blame. I guess
the only thing now is what do we do about it?"
Jacob asked, deserately wanting to know what she
thinks of it.

To Jacob it seems that this is something that
destiny has decided on. Something he cannot run from,
something he has no control over. It seemed that this
girl in front of him will end up becoming his life.
If the heavens have chosen her for him, there must
be a reason. His tribe has been known to follow
the direction of life and fate, knowing everything
happens for a reason.

Skarlet knew deep down she was drawn to this
certain being, but it doesn't feel right. Edward
made it very clear that he hated the idea, and
she doesn't have it in her to disappoint him,
or the rest of her family. To Skarlet it showed
that if she even decided to give this
imprinting thing a chance, her family won't
respect her, or care for her anymore, or worse.....
they won't love her anymore. Now what to follow?
Her love for her family, or a choice of a chance
of finding love, something she thought she would
never find.

"I'm sorry Jacob, but we can't" she finally whispered,
before turning away and leaving a confused yet sab boy
behind.
