So, I Love My Best Friend

So, I Love My Best Friend Chapter 10

“Clarissa!” Chauncey sang walking into my bathroom.
“Chauncey,” I sang back.
“Ready?” he asked leaning against the door.
“Almost,” I said walking passed him.
“What’s this guy’s name?” he asked smirking at me.
“Huh?” I asked grabbing my school bag.
“You’re looking hot for someone. Who is it?”
“It’s nothing, for now,”
“I won’t get mad; just tell me who he is?”
“Right now, he’s nothing. When things start going my way, I’ll tell you,” I said.
“No fair. I told you about Rose way before anything happened,”
“That’s because you wanted me as your wing man,” I said.
“So? I could return the favor,”
“Don’t worry about it, handsome man, I got this. Ready?”
“Let’s roll,” he said walking out my room.
I followed him to the car.
On the car ride there we sang along to the radio and joked around.
“Chauncey!” Rose said as we both got out the car.
“See you inside,” I said walking towards the school.
“Okay,” he said walking over to her.
I walked up the stairs leading to the school and headed to my locker.
“Hey Clarissa,” a group of guys said as I walked by.
I smiled at them and a few of them winked.
“Looking good, baby,” David said as I passed him.
I rolled my eyes and kept on walking.
I slowed my pace once I saw Jerry leaning against my locker.
I smiled a little and walked over.
“Yes?”
“Morning,” he said handing me a rose.
“I hate roses,” I said.
“I’ll try again tomorrow,”
“I hate flowers,”
“I’ll try again tomorrow,”
I smiled at him. “So, what brings you here?”
“Like I said, we have to act like we’re into each other,”
“Right,”
“By the way, I really like your outfit…”
“Look me in the eyes,” I said forcing his chin up.
He smirked at me and leaned down.
“What’s going on here?” Chauncey said.
I looked over at him. “Nothing,” I said.
“Lighten up dude,” Jerry said as pushed him out the way so I could open my locker.
“A rose? Clarissa hates flowers and roses,” Chauncey said.
“I know that, now,” Jerry said.
“It’s no big deal,” I said organizing my things.
“Yeah,” Jerry said.
“I’ll see you in homeroom,” I said closing me locker.
I looked at Jerry and smiled. “Ready?”
“Let’s go,” he said wrapping his arm around my waist.
“That went well,” I said as we walked down the hallway slowly.
“Didn’t it?” he said smiling.
“So when do I ask him about the date?”
“Today at lunch,”
“Fine,”
“So you hate flowers?”
“Too cliché,”
“Ah,”
I laughed. “You do know what cliché means right?”
“Yes!”
“Okay, just checking,”
“Do you like concerts?” he asked. “Or is that too cliché?”
“Shut up. I love them,”
“I have an extra ticket to see Mayday Parade…”
“I love them, count me in,”
“It’s a date,”
“Yeah…” I said as we stopped at me homeroom. “Later,”
“Bye,” he said walking away.
I walked into the room and took my seat next to Crystal.
“Hey,” she said.
“Hey,” I said as Chauncey walked in.
“Can we talk?” he asked.
“Sure,” I said getting up. “What’s up?”
“Jerry? Of all the guys you picked Jerry?”
“He’s not that bad. You said you wouldn’t get upset,”
“I’m just shocked that’s all. I didn’t know he was your type,”
“Love knows no type,”
“Love?”
“You know what I mean,”
“I just don’t want to see you getting hurt,”
“I know his game. I’ll be fine,”
“Okay,”
I smiled and gave him a hug. “Thanks for caring,”
“You’re my best friend, Clarissa, I have to,”
I laughed and pulled away.
We walked over to our little group and talked until homeroom was over.
I went about my classes like normal.
Tiffany and I walked to the cafeteria together.
I told her about what happened this morning. She thought a little more of it.
“He is totally into you,”
“Jerry?”
“No Chauncey,”
I rolled my eyes. “Please,”
“They totally had a man off by your locker. Dude wake up,”
“You’re over thinking this,”
“No, I’m not!”
I rolled my eyes and walked into the cafeteria.
“Save me a spot in line,”
“Sure,” she said walking away.
I walked over to Chauncey’s table and balled my fist up.
Rose was in his lap playing with his hair.
“Hey guys,” I said sitting down.
“Clarissa, would you like a better seat?” David asked patting his lap.
“Pass,”
“I think she would rather mine,” A guy, named Randy, said.
“I’m fine here,”
“There’s my favorite girl,” Jerry said.
I smiled at him. “Hi,”
“Stand up,” he said.
“Why?”
“Just do it,”
I rolled my eyes and got up.
Jerry sat down and smiled.
“Hey!” I said.
Jerry grabbed my waist and pulled me down. I landed on his lap and he smirked.
“If anything happens to pop up we could deal with it later,” he whispered to me.
“If anything pops up, I’m gone,”
He winked at me and I rolled my eyes.
“Anyway, do you two want to got on a double date?” I asked.
“With?” Rose asked.
“Jerry and I,” I said smiling.
“Sure,” she said.
“Yeah, sounds like fun,” Chauncey said.
“Cool beans,” I said. “Well, I’m hungry, so, later,” I said getting up.
“Later beautiful,” Jerry called.
I smiled at him and walked away.
“Hey,” I said getting in line next to Tiffany.
“What’s up?”
“Being nice to Jerry is so weird. That double date is on. You’re still coming over right?”
“Yup,”
“Awesome,” I said smiling.
