No More Tea Parties

Four

Nicole straightened up from packing her purse and stared at Matt in disbelief, 'Dear god, did he just seriously ask ME out... MATT SANDERS...ME...Out?'

Matt cleared his throat nervously, "or you know not, whatever."

Nicole bit her lip for minuet, "I would want to get to know you better, before-" she was interrupted.

"No, it's okay I understand," Matt told her scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, "I mean it's not every day that you wake up in some strangers bed," He told her.

Nicole's gaze dropped to her feet, 'especially if that said person is M. Shadows, of Avenged Sevenfold.' she stayed quiet, only to be brought back to reality from Matt clearing his throat once more.

"But I would still like to have another go at truth or dare," He told her with a smirk on his face, "from what I can remember it was getting pretty interesting."

"We will see after we get to know each other, how about that?"

Nodding Matt stuck out his hand, "Deal."

"Deal," She agreed taking his hand in hers.

"I'm holding you to this, I do hope you know that."

"I will be looking forward to it."

A knock to the door grabbed their attention, Matt looked over his shoulder to see Emilie standing in the door way with a smile on her face.

"Are you ready sweet heart?" She asked Nicole with a warm smile.

Nodding she looked into Matt's eyes once more, "It was um...nice meeting you. I guess I will see you around."

Matt nodded and moved to the side so she could get through, he watched as she walked out of the room with Emilie at her side. Emilie walked over to where Brian and her little girl were sitting and kissed each of their heads.

"I will be back in a bit, alright?" she said as Ella stood up on the couch and held her arms out to her mommy.

"Go buh bye?" she asked.

Emilie smiled and kissed her little girls cheek, "You have to stay here with Daddy alright? Make sure he doesn't go anywhere, I will be back soon."

Ella nodded and turned around plopping back in her spot. Emilie smiled and looked at Nicole who was standing there in a awkward manner.

"Sorry, had to play mommy. Do you have everything?" She asked.

Nicole just nodded smiling.

"Good, shall we then?"

"Lead the way."

Emilie nodded with a bright smile and walked out the front door pulling her sunglasses from her bag, "So where am I taking you, sweet heart?" she asked as she got in the car.
Nicole recited her address and soon the two of them were on their way, sitting in silence for a few moments Emilie sighed.

"So, where are you from?"

"Paris," She answered.

"I love Paris," Emilie smiled brightly as she turned the corner, "I have done many photo shoots there. I love the city all lit up at night."

"Paris will always be just the place where I grew up. Now Burgundy will always be the place that I call home," She said with a faraway look.

"You miss home, don't you?"

"At times."

Emilie pushed her sunglasses atop of her head and nodded, "So if you don't mind me asking, how was your night with Matt?"

Nicole blinked a few times before answering, "I don't actually know,"

Giggling Emilie said, "I wouldn't be surprised, you could have given the guys a run for their money when it comes to drinking."

Nicole just stayed silent looking out the passenger window, a few minutes passed when the car came to a stop in front of her apartment building. The two woman got out and were standing in front of a very uniform group of buildings.

"I was looking for apartments over here before I met Brian, they are nice," Emilie smiled, "Lead the way my dear."

Nicole nodded once more leading Emilie to her front door that was hanging wide open, she only let out a frustrated sigh seeing the state of the inside. Emilie looked over the girls shoulder and rose an eye brow at the sight.

"Uh...okay, this isn't good," Emilie stated.

Nicole sighed, "This isn't new," She told her walking inside.

"You normally leave your door unlocked and open? That isn't very safe."

The furniture was over turned in what looked to be like a fit of rage, books from her book shelf were tossed on the floor some of them had pages torn out and crumpled across the floor.

She stepped over the mess in the living room and sighed seeing a picture of her and an elderly woman on the floor with a cracked frame. She kneeled and took the picture in her hands, 'Another frame here we come.' she said to herself.

Emilie walked into the living room and blinked taking in the scene, "It looks to me like you have been robbed," She said with concern present in her voice.

Nicole only sighed and set the picture back where it belonged on the corner table. "Again,"

"What do you mean again? This has happened more than once?" She asked kind of in a panic, "And I thought this was a decent neighborhood," She said as she dug in her purse hurriedly.

Nicole stayed silent as she started to pick up a few of the books next to her feet, only to have then taken from her hands by Emilie.

"Why don't you go and get cleaned up, huh? You don't want to have stinky Matt smell on you," Emilie giggled.

"He does not smell bad, but you are right," she told her.

"Of course I am, now go get cleaned up. I'll straighten up what I can," She told her with a warm smile.

"You do not have to,"

"It's the least I can do," She smiled and pulled her hair up into a messy bun, "Now go on."

Nicole blinked at the woman who was picking up her house, "Uh thank you?" she told her softly, noticing that Emilie wasn't paying attention. Walking into her bedroom that was covered in feathers and sitting upon her bed was a single red rose tied to it with a red ribbon was a note, rubbing her face she took the rose in her hand, looking at the note it read.

'With love.' Staring at the note for a few moments she shivered, "Great, I have to move...again," She said quietly in French. Moving to her dresser she grabbed a clean change of clothes and soon retreated to the sanctuary of her bathroom.

As soon as Emilie heard the bathroom door close she took her phone out and dialed 911, waiting to be transferred to the police department. Once she was connected she gave Nicole's address and explained what happened. The officer on the other line let out a sigh.

" I'm sorry ma'am but we cannot do anything to help Nicole until she presses charges against him, I'm sorry. Maybe you can convince her that it would be a benefit," He told her, Emilie told the officer on the other end that she understands and said her goodbyes when she really didn't mean it.

She mumbled, "Fucking assholes,"

Slipping her phone in her pocket she stood in the mess of the main room and sighed.
A few minutes passed and Nicole emerged from the her bedroom and saw that Emilie was stacking up more books neatly on the book self. Hearing her step over a few more things Emilie turned and smiled warmly at her.

"Feel better?" She asked.

Nodding Nicole looked around, "You can go on back to Matt's if you wish I can finish up here."

"I was thinking that you would come with me," Emilie told her.

"Uh...what?"

"It's not safe for you to be here alone, being the fact that your apartment was broken into. Like you said this wasn't the first time, so I think that it is in your best interest if you come with me," Emilie said with a smile on her face.

"No, it is okay I promise," Nicole told her honestly, "I will be fine."

Emilie placed her hands on her hips and looked at her, "And I will feel much better if you came with me. Go grab what you need and we will be on our way," She motioned to her room. "Go on."

"What do you mean I will need?" Nicole asked confused at the girl that continued to clean.

"Go and get some changes of clothes, jammies and the like."

"Am I staying the night somewhere?"

Emilie sighed, "Like I said before. I do not feel comfortable with you staying here alone."
"How will I get to work?"

"That can be arranged trust me, now go," Emilie motioned to her bed room once more.
Nicole only nodded and slowly made her way back into her room, Emilie was a strange woman that was all that was running through her mind at the moment. Coming out of her room with a bag over her shoulder she cleared her throat.

"I am ready...I guess," She said awkwardly.

"Excellent, shall we then?" Emilie said holding the door open for her.

Nodding Nicole walked out of her house locking the door behind Emilie she sighed, "I would say thank you for the ride...but it seems pointless now that I am just going to be returning with you."

Emilie only shrugged and unlocked the car getting inside she buckled up and pulled out once Nicole did the same.

"So I called the police," Emilie admitted, "They weren't much help."

"Emilie," Nicole spoke.

"Nicole?" Emilie answered.

"I would very much appreciate if you would not repeat what you just saw," Nicole told her quietly.

"Why?" Emilie asked, confused.

"I was always taught never to air my dirty laundry in public," Nicole explained with a shrug," All it does is create worry and complicates things."

"Alright," Emilie agreed reluctantly, "But you have to answer me one question."

"And that is?"

"Who did the police mean by HIM?" Emilie asked.

"My Ex," Nicole admitted.
