Adrenaline coursed through her veins, her heart pounding into overtime as her eyes swept through the rippling water. It beckoned her to join it on its endless race through time and space. Her pale, slender fingers wrapped around the cool, metal surface of the railing. The ginger gazed out longingly at the water, the sun beaming down, casting a faraway reflection in the water. Her only competitor was her conscience now, something she’d learned to ignore a long time before, but she couldn’t ignore the water’s coaxing whispers any longer.

Thoughtlessly, she leapt in the water, knowing she wasn’t coming back.
