‹ Prequel: Teachers Pet.

Creep.

Why dance with the Devil, when I have you?

Snape shifted below me, pushing at my shoulders while he reached around the floor. I pushed back with my body and forced his neck to the side. I pushed my lips to the vein when a wand was shoved into my cheek.
“Audiolectomay!” High whistling clamped down on my mind, sending me to fall on top of Snape in pure pain. The frequency went higher and the tears fell harder, I began to scream but with another flick of the wand my voice cut out. I was silently crying and begging to be released from this torture, holding my head in my hands to try and muffle the sound. The sound got louder, circling around me like an annoying fly. I cried out again and began to beg for silence in my mind. My eyes flooded with tears and poured onto the floor as I wiggled around in pain. In what seemed like hours, the noise began to slowly fade. I clamped down on my lip to keep from screaming. The whistling grew quiet and seemed to drain out of my head through my ears. Once there was full silence I let my head fall onto the floor in defeat and curled up in the fetal position. I was mentally and physically exhausted, so much that I didn’t even flinch as Snape’s foot nudged me over onto my back. My heavy eyes looked up at my teacher apologetically as his looked down on me in interest and anger. I still couldn’t speak, so I attempted to roll over again. Snape’s foot stopped me again. This time he bent down and grabbed me by the front of my shirt, pulling my weak body to my feet. After seeing I wouldn’t stand on my own he held me there.
“This ridiculous behavior between us is at an end, do you understand Fletcher?” I nodded once feeling my heart rip into two. My tears came to my eyes again, but I was determined to blink them back.
“You do not want me as an enemy.” He hissed letting me fall back onto my ass. I held on to a desk and pulled myself back to my feet. I staggered a bit but I finally was able to stand with the aid of the table.
“Just remember, Fletcher. I could stake you anytime.” With that he stormed back to his desk and sat down, some students began to file in taking away the privacy we had. I clung on the desk under me and began to ease myself around the room to my seat. Emily sat down next to me and Leigha in front of me with Draco. I placed my head on the desk and shut my eyes.My love Snape has just defeated me. I felt paper nudging my hand again, another paper man was pulling at my finger. I lifted my hand and slammed my fist down on it. Snape’s head whipped toward me, so did everyone’s in the class.
“Miss Fletcher, since you were paying such good attention, tell me tell me the difference between a werewolf and a shifter.” I remained quiet and kept my eyes down.
“You don’t know? Well let’s try again, were can I spot a werewolf and when?” I knew these answers, but I kept quiet in fear of answering him with the question that was floating around in my head. Some kids from Ravenclaw on the other side of the room began to laugh. I turned my head to the side to see Reese sleeping on her textbook. I smiled slightly turning my face back into the wood of my desk. I heard loud shuffling and a stool screech across the floor. I opened my eyes as the back of my head was grabbed, fingers locked in my hair and my head was pried off my resting place. I grunted in surprise as I came face to face with Snape.
“Werewolves change at the light of the full moon. Shifters change on their own terms, you may find a werewolf whenever the moon is full, most likely in a forest.” Snape let my head fall back into my arms and stood up, kicking the stool back to the desk he took it from.
“Write this down!” He hissed at the class as he made his way to the front of the class.
“Slytherin, note your house has been deducted ten points for Fletcher’s impudence.” A chorus of disappointment growled around me, some kids threw paper at me.
“Oh shut up! We are ahead in points anyways!” I shouted at them. Slumping back in my chair.
“Five more points for her cheek.” Snape glared at me. Someone threw a book. I refrained more comments and continued my work angrily. After class, Slytherin members shoved me and pushed me. All except Emily, Leigha and Draco. Reese walked up to Draco and pecked him on the lips then she walked over to me and lazily draped an arm over my shoulder and leaned over to my ear.
“I dig it when you’re bad.” I nudged her and began to pick up my books.
“Kidding! That was really unfair, sorry man.”
“Thanks, Ree.” I pulled my bag over my shoulder and gestured to Emily and Leigha, introducing them.
“Finally! A girl not in it for the crayons!” Leigha yelled hugging Reese.
“Wait, hold up. He has crayons?” We all laughed and began to exit the room.
“Miss, Fletcher.” I stopped and turned to look at Snape.
“After dinner tonight, you will have detention. Room four-hundred and twenty-two.”
“Yes sir.” I ran out of the class after my friends when I was grabbed by the waist, my mouth was covered, I was pulled into the girls’ restroom. Once I was released I turned around to see Emily, Reese and Draco.
“Alright, Draco is here why?” I asked crossing my arms.
“Good question. Draco beat it!” Emily yelled pushing him toward the door.
“No! I am her cousin, I have rights to know what’s going on.”
“Do you have a vagina? Because I believe this is the girls’ room.” I stated crossing my arms.
“You’re so immature!” He yelled crossing his arms to state he wasn’t leaving.
“Get your penis, out of the vagina room.” I said tossing the words around to make him uncomfortable.
“Okay!” He shouted storming out of the bathroom.
“Bye lover!” Reese shouted before turning to me with a smile.
“I have a plan.” She smiled
“Great, but first, where is Leigha?” I asked looking around.
“Snape’s room.” I cut her off quickly.
“What!” I shouted running for the door so I could get my friend out of Snape’s scary resting place. Reese grabbed my belt loops and pulled me back to her, Emily held me still.
“Listen to her, the plan’s fool proof...kind of.” I nodded franticly as they started to explain.
“Since I am very aware now, so is Emily and Leigha, about your little crush is Snape. I did some research in my book while you and Snape had your little marital argument.” I rolled my eyes at her.
“Does Draco know?” I asked looking toward the door.
“He knows you may have a little crush on Snape, but nothing else. Anyways I found a potion, since you’ve kissed Snape binding the spell into actual love. Then you have to kiss him to be unbound.” She started before I interrupted again.
“One issue, he told me to stop this ridiculous behavior and to stop this little game.”
“That’s why after you take this potion, you have to convince him that he loves you, you guys kiss and all is well.” Reese smiled.
“Ree, that’s actually really good.” I nodded.
“Yes ma’am I am a genius! But can you hold on for three more days? It’ll take a bit to find the stuff needed, and even then the potion has to sit a day.” I nodded and smiled.
“Three days from now is the Masquerade. You could do it then.”
“How come no matter who the plan comes from, I always end up seducing Snape at the Masquerade?”
“Because you’re hot and he’s not, and this is the perfect way. You have a mask, he has no idea who you are, you lead him to a secluded area, convince him he loves ‘Della’ kiss him, you’re all free from him and you are good to go!”
“If I end up doing more than kissing I will kill you both.” I warned
“Don’t worry, I am actually good at magic.” Ree smiled. Emily nodded agreeing with her before telling me she was too.
“Anyways, we better get started, you go back to class.” Emily told me.
“You guys are going to miss class for me?”
“Della, we have a study period, just saying you should go so Snape doesn’t suspect you.”
“Fine.” I grumbled walking out of the bathroom.

I sat in the study hall, finishing the last of my homework, Dumbledore and Snape walked around the room to ensure the whole class remained silent. As I was finishing my potions questions the door flew open and Leigha ran in, Dumbledore nodded to her as she crashed down next to me.
“Since when does Snape have goddamn talking taxidermy?” She whispered harshly slamming her books down on the table. I stifled a laugh as she began to rip out her homework.
“Screw you man, I just wrestled a talking pig, alright?” Dumbledore shushed her as he passed causing her to start whispering again.
“Where is Emily and Reese?”
“Working on the potion, did you get the stuff?” I asked pretending I was doing my work still.
“Yes, I got your crack. Do you have the cash?” She asked once a first year Gryffindor looked up at us.
“It’s in my front pocket, take it slowly.” I giggled. As Leigha and I laughed our heads were forced down to our papers. Snape was behind us. We waited for him to pass before Leigha started up the conversation again.
“So baby, what slutty costume are you wearing on the big night?” She asked referring to the Masquerade.
“My foster mom is sending me her dress, and a mask she found in a burlesque shop back home.” I smiled thinking about the dress, it was so beautiful, it also earns points being as it’s my Moms.
“What are you wearing?”
“My sister’s grad dress and a mask she found in the closet from Halloween a few years ago.”
“I swear to god if it’s a scream mask.” I was cut off by Snape forcing our heads back down to our work and Dumbledore asking if we needed to be separated. We remained quiet after that, working on our homework and sharing the ink we had between us. Leigha finished first and patted me on the back as she got up. She handed Snape her potions homework he assigned us and walked out. When I finished I read over my answers and got up, bumping into Snape in the process, I swear he must plan these things. I apologized and handed him the assignment. He ripped the book from my hands and turned away from me. I stood in shock for a minute before I jogged out of the class and down to my room. Throwing myself onto my bed I got out my muggle phone. My foster mom should be home right now. I dialled her number and waited for her to pick up.
“Hello?”
“Hi, Mom.” I smiled even though she can’t see me.
“Della! Oh, uh. I can’t talk now.”
“Why?” I asked, Panic pushing through my voice
“He’s watching. Listen. There’s a man here-not in the house. Outside. He’s been stalking me for two weeks. Listen, he is claiming to be your father. I don’t think you should come home for Christmas. Della don’t say anything, ask no questions stay silent. He can hear me. Stay where you are.” With that she hung up. I glanced at the phone, I re-dialled and waited.
“Della.” I cut her off.
“Are you okay, has he tried anything?”
“I am fine. He doesn’t want me, he wants you. I got a really bad feeling from him, he is death Della. I think he is dead.” She stuttered in hysterics.
“Your uncle is here looking out for me, don’t worry about me. Just stay where you are.”
“Don’t invite him in the house, whatever you do, don’t let him in okay?”
“Fine, bye. I love you.” Then she was gone again. I threw the phone across the room and glanced at the clock. I was late for McGonagall’s twisted class. I bolted up the stairs and made my way to the classroom, the stupid Gryffindors were all there, same with the Slytherins. The class was divided into two lines. One half was girls, the other obviously boys. But strangely, there were three teachers on the boy’s side. Dumbledore, Lupin and Snape. Uh-oh.
“Nice of you to finally join us, Miss Fletcher. Get in line.” McGonagall instructed. I did as was told and made my way towards Leigha.
“What’s going on?” I asked looking over at Snape who stood across from me.
“We are dancing, I think. Yay.” She muttered trying to act excited.
“Listen up class! This Masquerade is not an event for teenage bumping and grinding. So Dumbledore and I agreed appropriate dance lessons were to be given to all the classes. Since there is a higher number of females to males in this class, the teachers to your left have graciously volunteered.” Snape folded his arms across his chest showing his displeasure.
“Let us begin.” McGonagall took Ron Weasley and began to demonstrate to the class.
“Boys, begin.” The testosterone in front of us walked toward the females and held out their right hands, bowing slightly. All except Snape, he was still standing in place with his arms crossed against his chest. When I realized no one was in front of me I cursed under my breath and crossed my arms as well. Really, what are the odds?” Finally Snape slowly walked toward me unfolding his arms halfway. When he was finally in front of me he stiffened more (if that was even possible.) He extended his arm and bowed slightly. Rolling my eyes to show him I mirrored his displeasure, I slipped my hand into his. I heard a few girls laugh at me, I shot them dirty looks and they shut up. Maria was having a laugh attack, but I pointed out silently that her partner was also a teacher and she turned away. Snape took my left hand and placed it on his shoulder while staring into my eyes coldly, adding to the awkwardness. He placed his own hand on my waist and looked down at our feet before meeting my eyes again. I stared him down for a few minutes before he started to lift our right hands to a right angle, perfecting the frame before he started to lead me around the room in a waltz. I looked down at our feet so I didn’t have to face him. Snape lifted my chin so I could look at him.
“I am looking forward to seeing you in detention.” He mocked as we twirled across the classroom.
“Is that so? Well, not that I blame you. I’m probably the highlight of your day.”
“Do you know what Truth Serum is?” Snape asked ignoring my remark.
“Is that a trick question?” I asked raising an eyebrow.
“Steal from my room again, and I may accidently slip some into your drink.”
“I didn’t take anything from your room!” I defended, half lying.
“Don’t lie.” He demanded, while he spun me around and dipped me toward the floor.
“I’ll do what I want.” Snape grabbed my neck as he pulled me to my feet; he pressed against me and stared me down.
“Not while I’m around.” He let me go and stormed out of the room. My stomach growled and I smelled that sweet and salty smell again. I looked around the room and my throat burned. I felt my teeth tingle as the smell got stronger. I looked over to see a student from Gryffindor covering their nose. She had blood dripping down her hands. Before I knew it I was in front of her, I had her up against the wall about to take a nip at her neck.
“Get her off of me!” The girl cried, and before I could silence her I was thrown across the room. I went to lunge back at the girl, but Professor Lupin pinned me down and held me to the floor. I was so hungry. I threw him off and jumped to my feet.
“Where is Snape?”
“Get her out of here!” Lupin grabbed me again, this time with help of Dumbledore; they forced me onto the wall and held me.
“Audiolectomay!” Potter shouted flicking his wand at me. I cried and crumpled into Lupin’s arms. He held me tight and pulled me out of the classroom; Dumbledore stayed and went to the aid of the other student. Lupin picked me up bridle style and took me outside; the whistling whirled around my head, causing tears to start to flow down my cheeks. The pain increased with the frequency, and I screamed louder as the knife like noise ripped at my mind. It stopped suddenly and I relaxed in the teacher’s arm. He let me go and I fell into the grass.
“What are you?”
