‹ Prequel: Teachers Pet.

Creep.

Killing the past.

I woke up in a fit of screams, images of Harry Potter burning me at the stake danced through my brain once more. I took
a few deep breaths before looking around the room. The infirmary was dark and empty tonight, all accept a man who sat
in a slump, sleeping next to my bed. Severus Snape. Not wanting to wake him, I slithered out of the gurney and snuck past him.
“Get back in bed.” Snape mumbled without opening his eyes. I stopped dead in my tracks and cursed under my breath.

“Seriously man. I’m fricken hungry.” I whined turning around to face him.

“Bed.” He argued opening his eyes and looking toward my tiredly. I sauntered over to him and jumped on his lap like a child,
snuggling into his chest like I had while he carried me last night. My body tensed from the smell of him and my mouth
watered slightly.
I will not eat my teacher. Snape shifted underneath me and pulled something out of his pocket. I looked into his hand, which
was now in front of my face holding a little jar of blood.

“I swear to god if there’s garlic in that.” I warned pointing at the red liquid.

“I promise. It’s clean.” I took the jar and held it in my hands for a few minutes, I could hardly control myself after I feed. If
I don’t get enough I attack anything near me. Looked up at Snape and pushed the jar back in his pocket. His face turned
confused as he followed my fingers with his eyes.
“I don’t want the risk of attacking you.” I whispered looking to the floor. We remained quiet for a bit. But it wasn’t
uncomfortable; it was like we had been together for years.
“I should leave.” Severus said breaking the long silence. The teacher stood up with me still in his arms.
“Fine.” I grumbled letting Snape place me back in bed. He pulled the covers over top of me, before he could turn to leave
I sat up and pulled his head down to mine. Catching the potions master off guard I kissed him softly and closed my eyes.
“Fletcher.” Snape groaned into my lips as he slowly pulled away.

“Snape.” I mimicked letting him stand straight again, he looked into my eyes once more before turning and walking out of the
room. I gazed around the infirmary once more, the cold feeling of solitude washed over me again. My stomach growled again,
acknowledging that I haven’t fed it yet.
“Oh shut up.” I muttered smacking my stomach as if it would suddenly answer me.
“Della, stop talking to your belly and take this.” I looked up as the nurse waltzed into the room, she had a tall opaque glass in
her hand. It smelled rank to be honest, but the salty rust smell told me it was blood.
“Okay what’d you spike it with?” I asked flatly taking the cup from her boney fingers and looking into the thick red liquid.
“Nothing.” She replied turning to leave.

“You’re really going to lie to me?” I asked swishing the liquid around to see the remainder of white powder stuck around the
inside walls of the cup. I heard the nurse clench her teeth before turning around.
“It’s a cleanser, Della. Drink it or go hungry..or die from poisoning. Which every comes first.”

“I thought you said nothing was in here?” I asked putting extra cheek into the comment. The nurse stiffened and stalked
away from my bed. Now that she was gone I began to sniff at the glass more. The blood smelled like a dead animal. There was
no way this was edible. Regardless I put the glass to my lips and took a sip, spitting the drink right back into the cup. It tasted
worse than it smelled. I can confidently say I would rather guzzle piss then whatever was concocted into this blood. My gag
reflex agreed with me letting me dry heave into the air. I was contemplating on pouring the blood out the window but my
stomach argued with me. I was ravenous. Maybe that nurse was still around.
I will not eat the Hogwarts staff. Gazing into the cup with defeat I plugged my nose and chugged the blood quickly. After I was
finished I slammed the cup on the nightstand and gagged again. That was so gnarly it left a brutal aftertaste. I jumped to my
feet and ran to the bathroom only to shove my face under the faucet. After I was certain the taste was out, I straightened and
twisted off the tap. For a few seconds I perched on the sink to wait for my stomach to settle. I will never again settle for blood
that’s been tampered with. I looked into the mirror to see a dark figure positioned behind me. I screamed and slipped on the wet floor, crashing to the ground. I looked around. It was gone.
I stood back up and turned around to go back to bed, only to come face to face with a cloaked man.
I squealed in surprise and jumped back bumping into the sink. I grabbed my heart and glared at him.
“What the fuck man?” I yelled trying to calm myself down.
His face looked confused…and surprised.
"What, cat got your tongue? Get the hell out!"

“Why aren’t you dead yet?” My mouth ran dry.
"How are you still- I killed you."
“Excuse me?” I asked narrowing my eyes at the stranger, I straightened and tilted my head upwards so I could look the man in the eyes.

“I buried you myself, you were good as dead.” He continued walking toward me. I ducked around him and stood by the door, crossing my arms I began my little rant.

“Did you, Well guess what? I’m like a cockroach, it takes more than whatever you did to try and kill me.”

“You stupid child, I am the one who poisoned you.” The man seethed his eyes narrowing as well.

“Again, more than dinking around with blood to kill me.” I hissed turning my back on him to walk back into the infirmary.
"You really think that was me? No, no no. I've been trying to kill you for sometime now Fleat I am the one who paralysed you, I'm the one who made you suffer…wishing you were dead eve moment you were with
him."

I froze for a second.
“Look at me.” The man growled, I flipped him off and began walking toward the door. Before I knew it I became acquainted with the floor. The stranger flipped me over and pulled a wooden spike from his cloak.

“Whoa man. What are you doing?” I yelled grabbing his wrist to stop him.

“I am doing what I should’ve done the day you entered the world, I am going to end your life.” Quickly I flipped us over and grabbed his hands to push the stake against his neck.

“What the hell are you talking about?” I snapped staring into his eyes.

“Look at me child! Can’t you see who I am?” I looked the man over, no I’m sure I just know he’s crazy.

“No, no actually I can’t, that’s why I asked, dumbass.” I spat pushing our hands further into his neck.

“I’m your father, you’re real name is Fleat Chellder… And I will make sure you rot in hell.” He spat back flipping us over and driving the stake towards me, I pushed his hands down so he plunged it through my stomach. Blood spilled onto my shirt and all over the man’s tanned hands. With as much force as I could I threw the man off and looked down at my stomach, I shivered in pain as my body got over the shock. The sharp burning pain shot through my abdomen and my heart picked up speed as I began to panic, the blood spilled fast onto the floor and the man scrambled to his feet. He rushed over and pulled the stake from my stomach roughly. I screamed out in agony and rolled over onto my side, the harsh movement left slivers of the unfinished wood in my skin.
“Screw you.” I spat, blood falling from my lips. I kicked the man in the groin and scrambled to my feet. I had to grab onto the bed as my knees buckled from the pain.
“No Fleat, screw you, and everyone you love.” The killer grabbed my foot and ripped me back to the floor. I screamed in pain and kicked him in the face.
“Let go of me!” I cried, but he ignored me and jumped on top of me, straddling my open wound. It burned and stung with every single second. I cried harder letting the tears slip out, I was letting him win.
“Go to hell, Fleat.” He smiled lifting the stake.
“I’m not Fleat!” I screamed pushing at his chest. Blue sparks flew out from my fingers setting the man up in scalding hot flames. I flinched, my hands made their way up to the man’s head and pushed onto his cool face, which too started up in flames and ate away like acid. I cried in horror and rolled out from under the faux father. He screamed in hate and agony as he crumbled to infirmary floor.
“Fleat!” He hollered clawing for me blindly. I pushed myself into a sitting position and scooted closer to my bed, clutching onto my abdomen as the knifing pain screeched on.
“Della!” I snapped , "My name is Della you prick!"
"And where do you think you go that name?"
"Della!" my head shot to the door to see Severus standing by the infirmary exit. His wand pointed at the dying killer.
"Yes Salam, Severus named you…Jumbling the letters of your pathetic name into something I could decode…so we could find you once more."

“Della, run!” I looked at Severus awkwardly as I was thrust to the ground, my eyes flicked up at my attacker. His wounds were healed and he was smiling.

“Please Fleat. It takes more than a magic trick to kill me.” He sneered pulling me to my feet.

“Expelliarmus!” The man went flying through the window as Severus ran to me and pulled me into his chest with his free arm. Welcoming the embrace I buried my face into his side praying for the safety I once felt to be restored.

“Oh please, don’t tell me you’re protecting her now!” I peeked out from Snape’s side to see the fake father standing in front of us.

“You were bound to do great things, and now you bow to the calls of a silly girl? That truly is pathetic Snape.” Laughter filled the air as he stepped closer.

“I always thought you were a little off though, however being as you came highly recommended by Voldemort, I thought it was tacky to start a battle with you. But now sir you are messing with the wrong man. Release my daughter, or I will kill her in front of you.”

“How will you take her, Luther? Not by force surely.” Severus smirked holding me closer. The man in front of us tightened his jaw and tilted his head.

“I just might.” Severus pointed his wand at him and pulled me fully into his chest so I couldn’t see anything.

“I encourage you to attempt that claim.” I heard a loud roar slice through the air.

“Audiolectomay!” Snape’s voice rumbled against my face as he shouted. The man named Luther just laughed.

“I’m not what you think I am, Snivillrus. It may work on that filthy half breed, but never on me.” I ripped away from Snape and glared at Luther.

“What did you call me?” I shouted edging closer to the man, the hole in my stomach almost closed now.

“I called you a half breed. You mud blood.” I felt the anger boil up into my face. Severus grabbed at my arm to pull me back over to him, but I ripped away.

“Fuck you!” I yelled lunging over to him, taking him down to the floor again.

“Oh here we go again.” The idiot groaned. I leaned down and bit him again, but I didn’t take any blood. The man shouted in pain as I ripped away at his chest. The sweet smell tempted me ruthlessly, but I didn’t dare to risk it. Snape ran over to me and tried to pull me off my supposed father. I pushed the teacher away and chewed till I felt the man’s beating heart. His blood curling screams echoed through the room until I finally did it. I pushed my hand into his chest, the blue sparks shot out and attacked the man’s black heart...I felt him die in my hands.

"Della."
I sat straddled on the cloaked man. I could't move.
"Della."
"Get away." I whispered staring down into the bloody hole in my father's chest.
"Della." Snape gently grabbed my elbow and pulled me away from Luther.
"Let go of me." Severus was quiet as he pulled me to his chest.
"Let go of me!" I screamed as loud as I could, pushing away from him.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I screamed even louder. Tears poured down my face as I looked back at my father.
"Why didn't you tell me about him…About you- about you naming me? About, vampires-
Severus walked back toward me and fought my arms, restraining them to my sides so he could wrap his arms tightly around me. Finally I surrendered, I hugged him closer, staining his shirt with my tears.
"Why-" I coughed, choking on all the emotions swimming around my head.
"He was lying Della. We did take you to the orphanage… I did name you. However not so he could find you…not so anyone could hurt you."
"And the Malfoy's?"
"Took you in on their own accord. " I sobbed harder.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"To keep you safe…"
"From what, Severus, I've been attacked countless times! I think it's time to know what I am being protected from!" Severus held me closer.
"Not now."
"What-
"You don't need to think, run, or speak…you're safe…with me." Tears slipped from my eyes as I snuggled my face to his chest.
"I really fucking hate you sometimes."
"Likewise, Fletcher."
We stayed silent, the only sound in the room was that of a leaky faucet and my occasional hiccup from crying too hard.
"I love you…" I whispered.
"I love you to, Della…"
