Girl, I'm Going Crazy for You.

It had been about 3 days since Stephen had returned home, and things were going great.I barely had to leave bed because he would make me all my meals, and would clean everything up, I had to pay him back majorly when this baby is out,
we were currently at the doctors for another check up, and this was the one that I had been waiting for, the one where we found out the gender, that's why I was really glad Stephen was home now, I was starting to wonder what it was, if it was a boy or a girl. I know Stephen was hoping it was a boy so he could take him camping, and do guy stuff, but he also admitted he would love a girl, because he knew she would look exactly like me, which means she would be beautiful.
I was laying on the bed, in the stupid hospital gown, Stephen was sitting by my side holding my hand really tight, I could see how happy he was, and he was determine to get out of here, he really couldn't stand sitting in the same place for such a long time.
Shortly the nurse walked in and it was Nurse Simkins, she looked Stephen up and down "So are you the boyfriend?" she asked,
Stephen "Yeah I am Stephen" he said adn shook her hand, she talked us through what was going to happen today, she said it was the last check up that we needed, and that I should get prepared for having birth, she told me about all the pains and how it soon goes away, and how amazing it is to have a baby in your arms, as she was saying it Stephen was smiling bigger and bigger, I could tell this baby was going to make everything perfect.

Nurse Simkins walked over to me and rubbed the gel on my bare stomach, and placed the scanner on my stomach and rubbed it around and we waited slowly for the baby to come up on the screen, and it soon did,
Stephen looked right at it, and grabbed my hand and kissed it "I love you babe" he said,
"I love you too" I said.

The nurse turned around and smiled "Would you like to know the gender yet?" she asked,
we both nodded "Yes please" I said,
she looked at Stephen "Would you like to know Mr Gomez?" she asked,
Stephen nodded quickly "Yes please" he said.

She fiddled around with the scanner trying to judge what gender the baby was, she turned around and smiled "It's a girl" she said and switched the scanner off, "Have you thought of a girls name?" she asked,
We both nodded, and Stephen stroked my hand smiling and didn't take his eyes off the screen that once showed the picture of a child, "Her name will be Melody" I answered, "Melody Marie Gomez",
"My beautiful Melody" said Stephen softly under his breath while smiling,
"That's a beautiful name" said Nurse Simkins, "Now Jess would you mind getting changed so I can see my next paitent",
Stephen helped me off the bed and helped me get change, and looked down at the bump that was on my stomach, he rubbed it with his hands "Melody, I'm your daddy Stephen I can't wait to meet you" he said to my stomach.
I couldn't help but smile at Stephen, he had changed so much since I got pregnant, it was a good change though, he was acting more mature. The drinking had stopped like completely, and he barely left the house, but I do kind of miss the old Stephen.

We left the doctors and Stephen helped me get in the car once we were outside,
"Can we go visit John?" asked Stephen and smiled at me "I want to tell him the news",
I nodded "Yeah I want to tell Miranda too" I said,
Stephen nodded and started up the car, and begun to drive.

Miranda and John's relationship was so serious before John left for tour that they were renting a house together,
We all knew they were getting married, and apparently Josh, Brian and Jess are planning to move to Maryland in a house together just so everyone can be closer, Stephen really liked the idea, because he thought that it would be like a massive family.
"Oh shit" I yelled,
"What?" asked Stephen panicing,
"I forgot to tell Jack that it's a girl" I said,
Stephen grabbed my hand and held it "It's okay babe, we will just see them after we visit John and Miranda" explained Stephen,
"Okay make sure you remember" I said,
Stephen nodded and handed me a pen "Here write it on my arm".

I laughed but did as I was told, it was stupid and pointless but if Stephen suggested it I better do it,
plus it might actually help me remember so it won't be completely pointless.
Stephen drove as I wrote it, I tried writing it neatly but the bumps in the road made it a really difficult task,
but as soon as it was done, Stephen stopped the car because we had arrived at Miranda's house,
I undone the seat belt and waited for Stephen to walk around the side of the car and help me out,
this was the downside of being pregnant I was helpless. Completely helpless.

Once I was out of the car Stephen held my hand as I slowly waddled up their driveway, and to the front door,
Stephen knocked lightly, and after ten minutes of complete knocking John answered the front door,
"What were you doing?" asked Stephen,
John yawned, and that's when I noticed he was just wearing boxers and shirt, and his hair was completely messed up,
so I had the thought that he had just got out of bed,
"I just woke up" yawned John and stretched his arms out,
I smirked and laughed I was right, bloody hell Miranda and John are the most laziest people I know.
"It's 4pm" stated Stephen,
"Your point is?" yawned John again,
Stephen didn't say anything, he just shook his head at his brother,
"Where is Miranda?" I asked,
"She is coming down soon" said John, "Can I get you anything?"
I shook my head, and then John looked at Stephen "Um can I get a bottle of water?" asked Stephen
"Jim bean?" asked John trying to correct to him,
Stephen shook his head "Nah man I'm trying to cut down on the drinking, so water is fine" explained Stephen,
John nodded and walked off into the kitchen, and Stephen and I walked into the living area and sat on the couch,
I leaned my back into Stephen's chest, and rest my head on his arm.
I felt his arms go around my waist has he hugged me close and rested his chin on the top of my head, and he kissed it lightly.

I looked up at him and kissed under his chin lightly, and smiled at him,
"Aw you two are so cute" said a voice,
I looked up to see Miranda standing there "Miranda" I screamed,
Miranda walked around to the couch and hugged me "How did it go?" asked Miranda,
"It went good" I said, "But I will tell you more when John returns with Stephen's water",
Miranda nodded "Okay" she said "John hurry up!",

John walked slowly into sight and yawned "Coming",
I laughed "Still not awake John?" I asked,
John shook his head and handed Stephen the water, and sat down beside Miranda and wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close, "So what brings you two here?" asked John,
I looked at Stephen and then he nodded to tell me to go ahead and tell John the news,
"We found the gender of the baby' I said,
Miranda and John nodded "Is it a boy or a girl?" asked Miranda,
"It's a girl" I said, "We are naming her Melody Marie Gomez",
Miranda smiled really big at the name "What a pretty name" she said and hugged John tighter,
Stephen cleared his throat "Also John, I didn't discuss this with Jess, but I think I have the right as Melody's father to say this" said Stephen "I want you to be the godfather",
I looked up at Stephen and whispered "Are you sure?" I asked,
Stephen didn't answer for two seconds and then whispered lightly in my ear "He will be fine, it's not like we are going to die or anything",
I nodded he was right, there was probably a low chance that we wouldn't die or be unable to look after her,
I laughed at the thought of John being a dad anyway, and Stephen laughed, I guess he was reading my thoughts,
or he had the same idea.

"Miranda" I spoke "Can you be the godmother?",
Stephen laughed "Jess there is no point" he said,
I turned around and looked at him "Why?" I asked,
"Because we all know that John and Miranda are going to get married" he explained,
I laughed and turned to them both "Yeah when is the wedding?" I asked,
they both didn't say anything but blushed and looked away,
then John smirked "When is yours then?" asked John,
there was a awkward silence. Stephen and I had never really talked about getting married to each other,
I would always imagine how perfect our wedding would be together, Stephen would serenade me with a song,
and we would dance the night away.

"Um we better go" said Stephen breaking the awkward silence "Nice seeing you bro"
he got off the couch and gave his brother a man hug, and then said goodbye to Miranda with a friendly hug and a kiss on the cheek,
I said goodbye, and walked outside with Stephen, and climbed in the car.
"Do you still want to see your brother?" asked Stephen,
I nodded "He will kill me if I don't see him" I explained,
Stephen laughed "Ha you are right, he would" he laughed and winked at me.

Stephen's P.O.V

My head was spinning with thoughts about what was mentioned at John's and Miranda's.
We were leaving Jess's mum house she was was over the moon that Jess was having a girl, and even she brought up marriage,
it's not that I didn't want to marry Jess, it's just the fact that she probably didn't want to marry me,
I didn't really expect her to see me as husband material, this baby thing just happened, it really wasn't planned.

I drove us back home in complete silence, and we walked up to our appartment in complete silence,
the only sound that was made was the sound of our shoes hitting in the ground, and the awkward sighs we made every few minutes,
I grabbed the key out of my pocket and unlocked the door, and we walked inside,
"I'm going to go to bed" said Jess and walked towards the room,
"Okay goodnight" I said "I will be in there in a hour",
She blew a kiss towards me and I acted like I caught it, and when she was completely out of sight,
I plunked myself roughly on the couch and switched on the tv, and watched some cartoons.

I grabbed my phone out of my pocket, and texted John:

"Hey man can you come ring shopping with me tomorrow?"

I don't know when I was planning on proposing to Jess, and I had no idea what her answer would be, and I didn't know how to propose. I know I get on one knee, hold out the box and slowly open it to show a ring with a massive jewel on it,
she then gasps and begins to slowly cry and say "Oh my gosh" and then I asked her "Will you marry me?",
but this was Jess the girl I was really in love with, I wanted it to be special, but how.
Then that's when I thought of it, I was going to do it by plane, wait no that would be stupid because I would have to jump out of it and hopefully land in front of it.

I sighed and switched off the tv, and checked my phone, I had one message it was from John,
"Yeah man, just stop by NOT TOO EARLY THOUGH",
I laughed and closed the message and placed the phone on the table and switched off all the lights.
I walked into the nursery and looked around at all the stuff, and started setting everything completely up.
I think Jess was going clothes shopping with Miranda tomorrow, well she didn't mention it but knowing those two, they will be buying so much stuff Melody will have a different outfit for every day of the year.
Then I had a idea, while Jess was out I can paint the nursery, after I buy the ring of course, and John could come over and help and then he would be able to give me a idea of a way I could propose.

I picked up a photoframe and studied the photo of Jess sitting on my shoulders as I posed for the photo.
She was wearing one of my shirts, and some ripped jeans, and some sunglasses,
she looked so beautiful, and I was pulling some dorky facial expression,
I laughed and placed it back down, and looked back around the room,
then I actually thought of a idea for the proposal, so I really don't need John and his brains,
just hopefully this idea works.

I walked out the nursery and closed the door lightly behind me, and walked in our bedroom.
I looked over to see Jess laying on her side of the bed, she looked so peaceful.
I switched the lamp on and slowly started stripping off into my boxer shorts,
and then I climbed into bed and kissed Jess's cheek, and hugged up to her close trying not to wake her.
