Seize the Day, Relish the Night

"Let me fix up before we go." I said excusing myself to the bathroom. I tasseled my hair and unbuttoned my top taking the belt from around my jacket and fastened it around my waist. I took the red lipstick out and smudged some on my cheeks and lips.

I shoved the ten Euros cover fee for Jyrki and I in my jean pocket before leaving the ladies room.

Jyrki grinned when he saw me. I smiled and did a little spin for him. "All set?"

"All set darling." He helped me into my coat. He hooked his arm with mine as I lead him to the metro and took it Kallio. We walked the few blocks to Stellastar where Psychotropic Zone was being held in its cellar down below.

I grabbed the money out of my pockets and gave it to the bouncer, who stamped our hands before Jyrki could protest. "Why didn't you let me pay?"

"Because you paid for dinner." I laughed and patted his cheek. He shook his head smiling.

The psychedelic lights were projected on the back wall behind the stage that was used when bands came once in a while to the underground club.

"I didn't figure you for this place." He laughed shouting over the music. Purple and pink butterflies drifted across his face as the projector spun from the ceiling.

"Dude, DJ Astro." I laughed as if that explained everything. "Besides, it's one of a kind. No other place like Psychotropic Zone. What's not to love?"

Jyrki smirked and shook his head leaving me briefly to hang up our jackets.

There was not many people out on the dance floor or even there yet since it was only 22.30. But, that didn't stop Jyrki from dragging me out onto the dance floor.

I laughed at some of moves he busted out as Black Sabbath's Snowblind streamed out of the speakers.

I had to admit though he was a pretty good dancer. At least he didn't just stand there and air hump or come on to offensive, like many guys usually do.

I grinned as he grabbed my hand and twirled me around as the song switched to Nopeuskuningas by Circle.

I had to laugh as I shook my hips to the beat. Never in my life would I have gone onto a dance floor with hardly anyone on there. I liked how Jyrki didn't care how dorky he looked, he was cool in his own eyes and that's all that mattered.

"Alright, I need something to drink to be a little loose to catch up to your moves." I laughed pushed through the crowd that had formed over the time we've been there.

I smiled as I felt him grab my wrist and come with me. "You really think I'm going to let you go on your own and pay for your drink?"

I smiled and rolled my eyes as I asked the bar tender of a Sweet and Sour. Jyrki asked for a Jagermeister and handed over his credit card to start a tab.

We walked over to an empty table and sat down to drink our drinks. I sipped my green drink, my nose wrinkled as the sourness punch kicked in after the sweetness poured down my throat.

Jyrki laughed at my face. "You try it tough guy." I handed it to him and giggled when his face mimic the same reaction as mine.

"That's way too sweet." He continued to make a face.

I laughed. "I'm just a sugar pie with a sweet tooth."

He shook his head and took another sip of his drink to wash out the sour taste. I finished downing my drink and felt my cheeks heat up as the alcohol started taking its affect. I grabbed Jyrki's hand. "Ready to look like a fool now, darling?"

I laughed as he finished his drink. "Of course!" I swayed to David Gilmour's voice as the speakers blasted See Emily Play. I grinned when Jyrki held my hips as I continued to dance.

He took my hand and spun me around before holding me close. He wrapped one arm around my waist and took my hand resting it on his shoulder and my other in his free hand as we danced together.

It didn't seemed like hours had passed, but soon DJ Astro was playing the last song on the night, well morning really. I never even remembered when they called the last serve for alcohol. At least Death By Horses was a good song to end the night with.

Jyrki held my hand tightly as the bouncers began to usher people out of the club. Jyrki lead me to the coatroom and grabbed our coats before the crowd came and it would be impossible to find anything.

I laughed and spun around once we got outside. Jyrki laughed and jogged to catch up to me. "Fresh air!"

"Fresh cold air." He chuckled zipping up his coat.

"Please, this is nothing." I scoffed. "When I come back next week, I will think I'm in the Mediterranean compared to Inari."

Jyrki's smile faltered remembering that I would be leaving tomorrow night. Not even, more like just in a matter of hours. He smirked taking a step towards me, determined not to let that ruin his mood. "You mean you won't need me to keep you warm?"

I stopped, fumbling over my own feet, and stared into his baby blues as he helped me steady on my feet. I returned his smirk. "You never know. A storm may just blow through and a fire just won't do."

"Body heat is always better anyway." Jyrki grinned and leaned down to kiss me briefly.

I wrapped my arms around his waist as we walked down the sidewalk. As he wrapped his arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer, oddly enough, all I could think about was how much I was going to miss him during the week.

I noticed how we both slowed our pace as we were only blocks away from my apartment. I for sure didn't want this night to end. "Well, darling, I guess this is goodnight."

I bit my lip. "Do you want to come up for something warm to drink before you go?"

He smiled and shook his head, letting his hands rest on my hips. "Not tonight, darling. You need you're sleep for tomorrow."

"Oh." I smiled, hoping I didn't sound too disappointed, or desperate for that matter. I felt like telling him I'd get enough sleep on the long train ride to Kemi, but I sucked it up and agreed. "Well goodnight Jyki."

"What?" He pouted. "No, goodnight kiss?" He pulled me closer and leaned down gently pressing his lips against mine.

I hungrily kissed Jyrki back with the thought in the back of my mind, that this might be the last time I see him before I leave.

He ran his tongue softly along my lower lip. I parted my lips and gladly welcomed the affection.

The night no longer seemed cold as his kiss lit my body on fire. He pulled away slightly, but I grabbed his scarf pulling him back towards me, not ready for him to leave. The vibrations of his chuckle ran across my mouth as I eagerly kissed him.

"I'm going to miss you." I whispered against his lips playing with his scarf.

"I'll be waiting for you when you get back." He kissed me softly.

"Want to get coffee before I leave tomorrow?" I asked shyly.

Jyrki smiled and pushed my bangs out of my eyes. "Darling, you didn't even have to ask. I was going to come hunt you down either way."

I bit my bottom lip grinning. "Good." I smiled and leaned up to kiss his pouty lips again.

"If you thought I ruined your lipstick this morning." Jyrki chuckled. "You look freshly kissed now." Jyrki smiled and was surprised when I wrapped my arms around him into an intimate hug. He let out a content sigh and held me tighter taking in the moment. The way the light hit my eyes and the way my hair still smelt shower fresh, even after dancing. "I'll see you tomorrow darling?"

"You'll definitely see me tomorrow Jyrki." I shook my head laughing. I stole one more kiss before jogging up my steps and unlocking the door. I turned around to see him still watching me to make sure I got inside safely and smiled.

"Goodnight darling." He winked and blew me a kiss.

I began to bite my bottom lip again and felt myself melt under his gaze. "Goodnight Jyrki." I slipped inside and leaned against the wall watching his cute butt walking down the sidewalk. I went into the mailroom and went through my keys to find the one for my mailbox. I grabbed the bills and magazines and happily walked up to my apartment.

I couldn't stop smiling the entire time. I tossed the mail on the table and hung my coat up. I walked down the hall into my room and kicked my heels off.

I stripped out of my clothes and just buried myself under my covers. I groaned when I heard the buzzer going off not too much longer.

I stumbled out of bed and walked to the door pressing the button on the intercom. "Yes?"

"Let me up Tuuli; I'm freezing." I pushed the button to unlock the apartment door and unlocked my front door as I went back to my room to put a robe on. "You were still sleeping!? What time did you get in last night?"

"What are you talking about?" I yawned.

"Love, it's nearly ten." She laughed at my distraught state and started the stove for coffee.

"Seems like I just got in." I stretched. "Let me jump in the shower real quick and I'll be better."

I felt a whole lot better with the stale stench of sweat and cigarettes washed off of me. I slipped on some underwear and opened my closet finding something to wear and looked at what I needed to pack.

"You didn't even pack yet?" Veera laughed standing in the doorway drinking her coffee.

"Nope." I grinned sheepishly and pulled on some jeans. "But, you're such a doll that you wanted to help me."

She scoffed and rolled her eyes. "You're lucky I came. So you went out on another date last night, I'm assuming?"

"Yeah." I smiled dreamily.

"Oh man." She laughed. "You have it bad for this guy."

I bit my lip blushing as I sat on my bed to but on some comfortable boots. "Is that good?"

"Well it's not bad." She laughed taking my warm clothes and putting in the purple duffle bag that laid out on my bed.

I sighed and slipped on my sweater over my head. "Well I hope it's good thing because I really like this guy."

She smiled. "Then it's a great thing, love."

"My sister wanted me to bring him with me to see if he's husband material." I rolled my eyes. "I mean I met this guy only a week ago."

Veera shrugged. "May not be a bad thing to think about."

"You too!" I scoffed.

"Tuuli. Don't be so dramatic." She laughed and smacked my butt.

"It doesn't matter, either way. He has to go to Stockholm to shoot a music video with some friends." I sat on my bed Indian style and faced Veera. "Do you think it will be hard to date a guy that travels a lot?"

She sighed. "I don't think it will be easy."

Jyrki paced outside the cafe waiting for Archzie. "What did you do that you're so nervous?"

Jyrki looked up and breathed out a sigh of relief seeing Archzie come his way. "Nothing. I just am going to meet up with Tuuli in a little bit before she leaves."

"Oh. She going up to Inari?" He asked getting a coffee.

"Yeah." Jyrki said softly.

Archzie laughed. "You like Maizie, huh?"

Jyrki smiled looking out the window. "Yeah."

"Well, I trust you with her." He shrugged.

"She invited me to go with her." Jyrki mentioned.

"Don't you have to meet Maryslim in a few days?" Archzie blew on his coffee causing more smoke to rise from the steaming liquid.

"Yeah." Jyrki mumbled. "I was so excited to do it and now I feel bad."

"Eh, Mazie won't mind." Archzie shrugged.

"I mind." Jyrki sighed and leaned back into his chair.

"So, this is why you dragged me out." Archzie chuckled. "And usually you're the optimistic one."

"I know." Jyrki groaned.

"Well, think of it this way." Archzie offered. "If you can make it apart this early in the relationship, then you have nothing to worry about in the future." He chuckled seeing his friends face. "Let's face it, you've been thinking about a future with Maizie ever since you hounded the poor girl for her name."

Jyrki didn't respond and looked out the window with a faint blush creeping in his cheeks.
