The Last Night

“What do you mean?” He asked not fully understanding what I was saying to him.

“I can’t do life anymore, I just can’t go on.”

I pulled him into another hug, this time he wouldn’t let go.

It was like he wanted to remember this moment forever.

He held me in his arms, it felt so natural.

Sure I loved Jimmy more than a friend but he wouldn’t go for me, it would probably ruin our friendship.

Every moment I spend here, I was hurting someone.

It was hurting me to know that I was hurting my friends.

It was almost silent except for the sound of Jimmy dialing the guys.

I knew he was going to tell them what was happening.

Jimmy was smart enough not to leave me on my own so he kept me right by his side as he called.

From the other end all I could hear was Matt saying that they would be over in a second.

They were true to their word because they showed up less than a minute.

I was engulfed in a group hug.

I pulled away from all of them, “I just came to say goodbye.”
