Just the Way You Are

"No one ever said you are the most beautiful thing in this world," he said, "but you are the most beautiful person I have ever laid eyes on. No one ever said you were flawless, but your flaws are just another wonderful piece of you. No one ever said you are perfect, but you are the closest thing to it that I have ever found. No one ever said you had a million dollar smile, but I would pay so much more just to see it on your face. No one ever said you were the best thing that could have happened to the world, but you are most definitely the best thing that happened to me."

At this point, my heart was beating hard, like a drum, and I was certain that he could hear it. It was beating rapidly, like falling raindrops in a storm, and I was sure I was hyperventilating. Tears began stinging my eyes, threatening to pour over my lids as he stepped closer and took me in his arms.

"No one ever said you had nothing to change," he softly whispered, tenderly wiping away the descending tears, "but I love you just the way you are."
