So Wrong, It's Right.

It was lunchtime on Monday and Alex sat alone in his classroom. He stared at his desk, picking at the hard wooden surface. He wondered where Lanie was. He knew she was here today, he'd taken her to school, they'd gotten coffee that morning. Everything had been fine. What was different now?
What had happened in just a few hours that now caused her to ditch him, leaving him by himself and lonely.

"Alex!" Alex jumped up from his chair right as Lanie rushed in the room. She slammed the door shut, hearing the lock automatically click as she pulled the blinds down over the small window beside the door before bounding her way over to Alex, throwing her bag down on the way.

"What, what is it? Is everything okay?" He asked as she threw herself on him, her arms going around his neck, his arms on her waist as he stared down at her in concern while she giggled.

"Everything is fine! Great actually!" Alex let out a sigh of relief.

"What happened then that has you in such a good mood?"

"You were right!" She said as she pulled away from him, taking off her jacket and sitting down in his desk chair, smiling up at him. "Jake came up to me. We talked everything out, everything's good now!" Alex smiled and leaned down to kiss her lips softly, his hand getting lost in her hair.

"That's great! I told you all you needed to do was wait, babe." He said when he pulled away from her, sitting on top of his desk, smiling at her.

"You know... we need to talk, Alex." She said, her smile fading, making his smile fade as well.

"About?" She sighed, running a hand through her blonde locks.

"You know exactly what." He looked down at his lap. "You have a girlfriend, Alex."

"I don't love her though. I don't want to be with her, I want to be with you."

"We can't though, Alex. It's not right."

"Why this sudden change of heart? Everything was fine this weekend and this morning." She stood up and sighed.

"Yeah, I absolutely loved this weekend and this morning, but I'm only sixteen Alex and even if neither of us or your friends care about that, the law does. You would get fired and arrested it anyone found out." The young adult stood up and took the teenager in his arms, holding her tightly as she attempted to get away form him.

"They won't find you. We can be secretive about it. Please, I need to be with you, Lanie. I'll break up with Lisa. I will, I'll do it right now even." He moved away from her and went towards his desk, grabbing for his phone but Lanie grabbed his arm.

"No, stop. One, you can't break up with someone over the phone that's heartless and two, I never said you breaking up with her would make me stay. I don't want to lie, Alex, please." He stared down at her for a few seconds, seeing she was close to tears.

"Can we talk about this outside of school? At my house? Tonight?" She sighed and let go of his arm, stuffing her hands in her pants pockets.

"Yeah, I guess. What time?"

"7?" He suggested.

"Sure. I'll just lie to my parents or something and tell them I'm going to Jake's. That's what I told them on Friday. They don't know a thing about the fight with Jake and I."

"Why didn't you ever tell them?"

"What was I supposed to tell them? They would kill me if they knew I lost my virginity while I was drunk, actually they'd kill me if they knew I lost my virginity at all."

"Wait, you lost your virginity to Sebastian?" This surprised Alex. He had for some reason thought she wasn't a virgin before that.

"Yeah. Which is what makes it even more awful." She said right as the bell rang, shrugging. She moved forward and grabbed her jacket off of his desk. "You should go unlock the door." She said as she went to grab her back from off the floor where she's tossed it when she came in.

"Yeah, okay." Alex nodded and went to unlock the door and move the blind back up. "So you promise to come over?"

"Yes, Alex, I'll be there." She smiled at him, rolled her eyes and sat down as Jake came bounding into the room...
