Memori

Questions

Aiden woke up the next day and began to get ready for breakfast. Looking around the room, she noticed only Hermione sleeping. Deciding its best not to wake her, Aiden left in hopes to meet Valor in the Great Hall. She left the Slytherin common room and made her way to get her daily dosage of food. So many things were running through her mind. Landon's poem, her friends strange behaviors, and to top it all off, her main thought was why she kept waking up in the middle of the night, everyday for the past few weeks. It bothered her deeply, and she desperately wanted to figure it out.

Soon enough she reached the Great Hall and spotted Valor already sitter at the Gryffindor table next to Harry and Ron. She quickly made her way to them.

"Morning Harry...Ron...loser" she said with a smile making all three smile as well.

"Morning." They replied.

"How are you doing Harry, feels like forever since we last talked." Aiden said as she filled her plate with food.

"I'm doing good. Sorry about that, you know the whole not talking in a while, been busy." Harry replied, uncomfortably.

The truth was, Harry and Ron didn't talk to her much because after Aiden got her memory erased because they felt like they lost their friend, and talking to her about stuff she didn't remember would feel like talking to a compete stranger. Unfortunately, their hesitation to talk to her made her sad. She missed them hanging around, and did not understand why they had been so distant. When Aiden got her memories erased, most of them that disappeared were with Harry and Ron as well, seeing as how Draco was around all the time when they hung out.

"Hey Valor!" A voice said from a distance, causing them to look back.
Christian came walking to them with a smirk.

"Since the ball is two weeks and seeing as how you don't have a date, wanna go?" He said with a grin.

"Seeing as you are hard of hearing, you need to write a poem first." Valor said back with her own grin.

"Ah, I knew you were going to say that, so here." Christian said whipping out a parchment from his pocket.

"You know that kiss was a dare right? I don't actually like you." Valor replied smirking.

"We'll see about that." Christian said before walking away smiling.

Valor rolled her eyes and turned back to find her friends smiling at her.

"What?"

"Aren't you going to read it?" Harry asked like it was a pretty obvious question.

"No."

"Why not?" Ron asked.

"Because."

"Because she already knows that she is going to the dance with him." Aiden said before biting into her food. Valor gave her a glare, which Aiden returned with a smile.

"No. It's because I have no intentions of going with him." Valor retorted.

"Oh hush! You know you enjoyed that kiss as much as he did!" Aiden said with a laugh.

Rolling her eyes, Valor unfolded the parchment and began to read. Her friends studied her expression, in hopes to see some sort of reaction.

Soon enough, Valor began to laugh.

"What's so funny?" Ron asked.

"Wouldn't you like to know Weasley?" Valor asked with a smirk while looking up from her poem.

Aiden rolled her eyes and continued to eat, knowing Valor would end up sharing with her and Hermione later. As she thought about Hermione, she couldn't help but think about last night and her weird behavior. Peeking a glance at the Slytherin table, she easily spotted the blonde hair guy. Seeing him made her stomach react, in other words, butterflies. To be honest, she hated it. She knew even thinking of him as anything other than an enemy, would ruin everything. Having him stay an enemy was the only world she knew, having him as anything else would be a disaster, as least to her. Aiden stared at him, confused on everything that related to Draco. One day he's sending curses her way, the next he's confessing his love for her. Sadly, Aiden won't know that the second part was actually the truth in her life. Suddenly, icy blue eyes looked her way, making her freeze.
She didn't know wether to turn away or keep staring in hopes of him to look away first. Embarrased she got caught in the first place. As she and Draco stared at one another, she couldn't help but see sadness and loneliness in his eyes. HIs hard exterior no longer existed around her. Before she knew it, she smiled at him not even knowing why. As soon as her smile appeared, it vanished just as fast. Aiden broke the connection between the two and got up quickly from her seat. She ran out the Great Hall, ignoring the protests from her friends.
As she ran, she mentally kicked her ass.

"What is wrong with you Aiden?" she asked herself as she slowed down, deciding to walk instead. She needed time to herself, time to figure out what the heck is going on. Her friends, her classmates, everyone was acting differently and what is worst, is no one wants to explain to her.

"Aiden?"

Looking behind her, she froze.

"Are you okay?"

He was the last person she wanted to see, and yet the only person she wanted to see at this moment. He stood there, breathing hard, obviously ran to follow her.

"Yeah why?" she asked still trying to catch her breath.

Draco looked at her, as is wondering what could be crossing her mind at this very moment. His mind recalled what happened a few minutes ago, in the Great Hall. He knew she did it, there was no denying it. His heart pounded fast as soon as she smiled at him.

"Can I ask you something, and all I want is the truth. If you can't answer my questions, feel free to leave." Aiden said, trying to get straight to the point.

"What do you want to know?" Draco asked.

Looking around, Aiden knew more students would be passing this way to breakfast.

"Not here, is there someplace we can go? I don't know, more private?" she asked.

"Yeah sure."

Moments have passed as she followed him, soon she recognized where he was taking her, and although familiar she didn't know why her stomach did a flip. The fresh air blew through her hair, the soft gentle sun rays lays on her skin making her feel warm. The smell of the water made her smile. It has been a very long time since she ventured outside, and she missed it dearly. He stopped at a near by tree and sat down. Not knowing what to do, she followed his lead and sat down.

"Do you promise not to lie." Aiden asked, looking at the Great Lake.

"Yeah."

Aiden wasn't so sure if she could believe him, but right now she needed answers,

"For a while now, things have been different and I'm not an idiot, I recognized it right away. The way people were treating me, the way my friends acting towards me, and you," she paused to look at him.

"You suddenly became different, as if there is something I'm missing, because when you said those words to me the night I came back from Catsgroom, it didn't seem like it was a joke. I only told myself it was because I know you, you don't normally act like that. So please, tell me what is going on. My friends are hiding something from me, and I can't stand it!" she finished.

Draco looked at her sadly.

"Aiden, would you believe me if I said that you were living in an imaginary world, that only you believe existed? No matter what I say right now, a part of you will not believe me only because there is no way for you to see the truth. Trust me when I say this, that I am doing everything I can to make it right again, even if you still hate me, as long as you know the truth."

"Malfoy, please speak English."

Draco looked down to the grass and sighed.

"I'm sorry, I just don't know how to explain it."

"Why?"

"Because everything I say won't make sense to you. At least not right now."

Aiden looked up at him as he stared at the grass. She saw that he was frustrated, and confused. It doesn't seem like she would be getting the answers she needed anytime soon.

"Did something happen to me?" she asked suddenly. Draco looked up at her, confused.

"What makes you ask that?"

"I can just feel it I guess, like nothing is right. Everyone I know walks around like they have a secret that they won't share with me. Why won't anyone just tell me the truth, its all I want."

"Because not everyone knows the truth."

Aiden looked at him confused, "What do you mean?"

Draco shook his head, and Aiden took that as his answer.

A few minutes passed, the two sat there in silence, each thinking. Aiden was hoping that Draco can answer her questions, yet all he gave were confusing ones, that made her question things more. The reason that she wanted to ask him was because ever since Catsgroom, he hasn't been the same Draco Malfoy she knew for the past few years, and to make things more suspicious, her friends knew why. Another reason why she needed to talk to Draco was because ever since that night, she didn't know why, but she felt as if he was supposed to be something more important than just an enemy.

"Can I ask you one more question?" She asked, her heart beating fast. Aiden hoped that Draco would at least answer this very important question.

"Of course."

She looked at him as he stared at her. She searched his eyes for something, not knowing exactly what she was hoping to find.

After taking a deep breath, she whispered, "Why do I dream of you every night?"
