Conflicting Feelings

A few days have passed, and it was the day before the "Castle of Blue Ball". Aiden had done her
best to avoid Draco. Dodging him in the halls, ignoring his constant stares. For the past
few days, Aiden worked at finding out what her feelings actually were, while also
figuring out everything that been confusing her ever since her return from Catsgroom.
It had been hard of course, to focus on everything that didn't deal with Draco, but
not impossible.

At the moment, the girls were in the Gryffindor dorms, looking at their
dresses for the dance. Hermione and Valor had revealed their dresses, both
gorgeous blue dresses to fit the theme. Hermione had a long, silk navy blue
dress with an A-line to fit her figure perfectly. Valor had a knee lenth, strapless
baby blue dress, that flowed in all the right places. Like the girls, many others
also decided to wear beautiful blue dresses, ranging in different styles. Of course,
it was required to wear blue dresses, but fitting the theme seemed like a good idea.

"I really wish you would show us your dress." Hermione said to Aiden, as she places
her dress into the wardrobe.

"Yeah, the reason for today was to make sure we won't look ridiculous tomorrow. I mean
every girl needs their friend's input." Valor added with a smile.

"If I show you both, it defeats the purpose of surprise." Aiden said in her
defence.

All morning her friends have been picking at her to show them her dress, but Aiden
had always been to one to wait until it was time, much to her friends protests.

"Well, I have to met Ron and Harry in the library. Those two of course put fun first
before work, so I promised to help them catch up." Hermione said, getting some things
off of her bed, and placing them into her bag.

"I think you described most guys in general." said Valor, as she got off of
Aiden's bed.

The girls followed Hermione out of the Gryffindor dorms, before going their seperate
ways. Valor said she need to get her Defense Against the Dark Arts homework before class
started, which was one of the classes that she did not share with her best friends. Every
day, after that class, she would complain about it to Aiden and Hermione, talking about
how it is boring sharing it with the other Slytherins and Ravenclaws.

Aiden headed on her way to meet up with someone, when she ended up getting pulled
into a random classroom.

"What the fu." She attempted to say, before looking around at one of the old
abandoned classrooms in Hogwarts. The place needed some serious tending to, as it was
filled with webs, dust, and darkness. A small light desended from the windows in the room,
but not enough to light it all up.

"Malfoy? What is your problem?" Aiden asked angrily.

Obviously he didn't get the hint that she didn't want to see him. All her attempts to
ignore him were a one sided thing. Aiden stepped a few feet back, away from him. As she
stared at him, she saw what she has been seeing a lot lately, sadness and heartache.

"Aiden, I've been trying to talk to you for a while now." Draco said in a sad tone.
He stared at her, taking in her presence, and even if she didn't want to see him,
having her here made things so much better.

"I don't want to see you, what don't you get? I just want you to leave me alone." she
replied, furious at him for ruining her hard work of not talking to him.

"But I need to explain."

"I don't care what you have to say. You've done nothing but make me feel
like a complete idiot. Leading me on, and trying to convince me that you are
capable of change when in reality nothing has. What happened Malfoy,
I thought you said you wouldn't stoop that low with Shiela, yet forgot to fill
me in that you are taking her to the dance." Aiden said furiously, before stopping
to catch her breath.

It did not take a rocket scientist to see that she was pissed, at him and herself. From
their last encounter, Aiden had been beating herself up about even thinking of
getting involved with Draco. He had been nothing but trouble and drama, and although
he says otherwise, nothing has proved her wrong. Since then, Aiden told herself
to deal nothing with him, and just focus on other things that make her happy,
like school, and her friends.

"Not by choice okay. I don't want to go with her, if I did I wouldn't try
hard to make you change your mind about me. Aiden, I mean what I say." He said, taking
a step towards her.

"I no longer believe anything you say. I honestly don't know why for a second I wanted
to. I wanted to believe that someone as cruel and horrible as you can change. I wanted
so damn bad to believe it! But what I realized is you're nothing but a lost cause." She
replied looking straight into Draco's eyes. Her words had hit home. Her words caused
some serious damage, and Draco did not know what to say in return. For so long he had put
so much time into her, loving her, and to hear that he is less than dirt to her, breaks
him. Ever since she lost her memories, he had tried so hard to get her them back,
get her to love him again. He just wanted to feel whole again, and at those times
when he started to get discouraged, he would think back to the time when she said that
she loves him before she completely got her memories erased. That alone gave him hope,
but now that hope was slowly diminishing.

"I just want you to please leave me alone." Aiden said after giving herself a few
seconds to calm down. She realized how mean she sounded, and almost felt bad for saying
those things to him. Looking into his eyes, it was like looking into the eyes of someone
who's world was crumbling. Aiden does not know how bad it affected him, but she knew
it hurt a lot, what she didn't understand is why it did.

"I just can't." He replied, his voice horse and weak.

"Why?" She asked, sadly. Draco's eyes were starting to tear, and thankfully
for the lack of light in the room, Aiden couldn't see it.

Draco took a couple steps towards her, then said, "Because you mean everything to me."

"Malfoy, please okay. Don't say those things to me. I think you've done
enough damage with words like that."

"But it's the truth!" He yelled, catching her completely off guard, causing her to jump.
Immediately after he said, he turned and walked a few steps back, trying to calm
himself down. This is starting to become to much to bear for him.

"It is the truth. The one thing that you have been searching for. I've been trying
so hard to make you see that but you're blinded and can't see that." He finished.

After he said that, the room fell silent. Draco stood there, wanting this madness to end,
and Aiden feeling confused, and torn.

"I really got to go. I just can't handle this." Aiden whispered before walking to
the door.

"Please Aiden, don't." Draco's weak voice said, pleading with her.

"I have to meet someone, who is probably wondering why I am late." She said, before
walking past him.

"Who?"

Aiden paused right in front of the door. For some reason she couldn't bring herself to say.
She slowly turned to face Draco, something in her feeling so sad towards him.

"Who Aiden?" Draco repeated.

Aiden quickly saw how tense Draco had gotten. His hands were clenched as they hung by
his sides. He was starting to become furious, and it was obvious to her, yet she
continued to remain silent, too worried to say anything.

"Who is it?" Draco's voice starting to rise.

"Goodbye." She quickly said, reaching for the door. Suddenly as she opened it, something
pushed it shut, making her jump. Looking up she saw Draco's hand on the door, keeping
it closed. She noticed he was breathing hard, and it must be due to the fact he was
trying to control his anger.

Sadly, it was just starting to make her mad. She wanted to get out of this situation,
out of this room with him. She believed he is once again trying to mess with her
feelings, and as stubborn as she was, she refused to let him get to her again.

"Why do you care huh? I'm sure the Slytherin slut is waiting for you right now, so
don't question me about who I'm seeing when you already have someone." She said bitterly.

"Who is it Aiden?" Draco asked, teeth clenching. He was using all he had not to break
something right now. Draco was filled with heartbreak and rage, that it was starting
to cloud his mind. He had been working so hard for her, and knowing there is someone
else she would rather see than him just filled him with anger.

"Landon! It is Landon okay!" She yelled.

Draco knew it, he knew who is was, and hearing his name didn't make anything better. A
part of Draco wanted so bad to be in denial, but you can't deny reality.

"Are you dating him?"

"That is none of your business Malfoy." Aiden replied, trying to pull the door open again,
much to her dismay, Draco held it shut.

"Just answer the question."

"Let me out of here." she said, ignoring what him.

"Not until you answer me."

"You know what? This is starting to become exhausing. How dare you question me,
when you don't see me asking you about Shiela. You stand there, tricking me into
these feelings but when I deny them, you can't accept it! And for the record,
no I'm not dating him, but if he asked, I wouldn't refuse him! I would rather
be with him, than some jerk like you!" Aiden yelled, and as she did, she noticed Draco's
lack of effort in holding the door closed, so before he knew it, she pushed him and
walked out. As she did, she could hear the desks being thrown to the walls behind her.
As if her body protested it, she took a deep breath and started to walk away.

Aiden made her way out of the school, as she did she saw Christian. She hadn't seen him
much since he asked Valor to the dance, and she missed talking to him, but whenever
she wanted to, Draco would be around.

"Hey McCain." Christian said walking up to her, seeing her faace flushed red. He
noticed she was mad, and seeing as he still cared about his friend, he wanted to make
sure she was okay.

"Hello Christian." She replied, showing a friendly smile.

"What's the matter?" He asked, as he stood in front of her.

"Nothing really."

"Trust me, being in Slytherin doesn't require lack of common sense, so believe
me when I say, nothing can't be the matter." Christian replied, making Aiden
laugh a bit. Immediately she started to feel more relaxed.

"Just stuff with Malfoy." She said, with a sigh.

Not expecting that answer, Christian suddenly became tense. This has always been a
tough subject for him, having two friends in such a horrible situation.

"He didn't hurt you right?" Christain asked, almost positive that Draco wouldn't
ever hit her.

His question caused Aiden to laugh. "No, he didn't."

"Then why do you look like you're ready to sock a troll in the face?" He asked.

Although she knew Landon would be waiting for her, she also knew she needed someone
to talk to about this. Even if Christian is Draco's best friend, Christian had always
been there for her, and knew that he cared for her. Christian had been thankful for
Alex not removing her memories of Christian, for he couldn't lose her friendship as
well. As far as Aiden remembers, Christian is one of her best guy friends, but the only
thing Alex altered, was how they met. Of course they met through Draco, but Alex made
it seem that Draco hurt her, and Christian was there to stop him.

"Okay, if I tell you, please don't go and try to talk to him." Aiden told Christian.

"Can't promise anything, but go for it." He replied with a smile.

Aiden then explained everything to him, from her friends hiding something, her
strange feelings for Draco, and thier encounter in the abandoned classroom. Aiden felt
relieved, and more relaxed than she has for the past few days.

"Wow, that sure is something. Look Aiden, I know I'm in no position to say
but this is complicated for Draco. He's going through a lot, and most of it
has to deal with you." Christian told her, of course adding to her confusion.

"What I don't understand is why? He's suppose to hate me, and....he's not."

"What I can say, if you are doubting him, just trust me when I say, he does
not hate you and he is trying everything in his power to fix it. From what you know,
Draco Malfoy wouldn't put so much time into one person, let alone try hard for them,
but he is, and for you. The Draco you think, is a vile, evil person, but look
hard at him and ask yourself if you can believe he is. I know it is a lot to take in,
but before you let go on these feelings you have, think about it." Christian said,
giving a reassuring smile.

Although she is still confused, she did realize what he is saying is making
some sort of sense. She doesn't know why her, but what Christian said was right.

"Thanks Christian, I just feel like I'm walking into a room full of dementors blindfolded.
Wanting to trust some feelings that I have no idea where it came from."

Christian laughed, before replying, "That is usually what happens when someone likes
another person. Walking in blindfolded with nothing to trust but your instincts."

"You sure you're not secretly a Ravenclaw?" Aiden asked causing both of them to laugh.

"Oh I'm sure, blue isn't really my color." He replied.

The two laughed and Aiden gave him a hug.

"Thanks."

"No problem, and don't let Shiela get to you. She is probably trying to manipulate things
because she's threatened by you. She wants Draco, and she knows she can't have him, since
obviously he is too focused on a Gryffindor." Christian told Aiden, and for some reason
Aiden felt a bit more at ease.

"Well I got to go, Landon has been waiting a while." Aiden said, after a few more laughs.

As soon as she started to walk away, Christian called back to her.

"Hey Aiden, if you do end up wanting to be with Landon Drax, just make sure
you're happy. Don't dwell too much on Draco, if you're certain about Landon. Just make sure
you're happy, and I'm positive they will understand." He said.

With a reassuring nod, Aide waved goodbye, and headed towards the edge of the
school. Just as she knew it, she saw a silhouette, standing against a tree. She quickly
made her way towards him. As soon as Landon saw her coming, he smiled from ear to ear.

"Sorry I took so long!" Aiden said as soon as she reached him.

"Don't worry about it, you know I would have waited here however long you took." Landon
replied with his sweet smile.

Aiden embraced him in a hug, smile as big as his. She was happy to see him, and even
if she was still confused as ever, meeting him was something she knew she wanted.
Unknown to them, two Slytherins stood off far in the distance, looking at them.

"Don't worry mate, just give her time." Christian said with his hand on Draco's
shoulder.

Draco stood there, looking at his love smile in the arms of another. Although it did
hurt to witness, he knew that he wouldn't give up, he just needed to give her
time. If she is fighting the feelings she has for him, he knew that true love
is going to win, and one day from today, she will be his again.
