Secrets Will Kill You The Sequel

Tell Me What To Do Part 2

“Ready to blow this joint?” Dean asked us as we were packing up to hit the road. “Dean, didn't it strike you as strange the way Gandhi just…vanished?” Brit asked.

“Strange how?”

“No screaming, no big flame-out, I mean, that isn't the way ghosts usually go” Sam explained.

“Still, Brit and Mel torched, he vanished”

Sam sighed. “Yeah, but I…also, I feel like he was…trying to take a bite out of me”

“A bite?”

“Yeah, like he was hungry. But the thing is, Gandhi…or, the real Gandhi…he was a…”

“A what? Spit it out”

“He was a fruitarian” I told Dean with a small smirk playing at my lips.

Dean laughed. “Let me get this straight. Your ultimate hero was not only a short man in diapers, but he was also a fruitarian?”

“That's not the point”

“That is good. That is…even for you, that is good"

“Look, I'm not so sure this thing is over” Brit said.

“It was a ghost, Brit. It was a weirdly super-charged fruitarian ghost, but it was still a ghost. Now let's go” Dean said, heading toward the door with his bag

I was about to follow but I noticed Brit and Sam were staying in their spots. “So first you drag me into town, and now you're dragging me back out” Sam said, addressing Dean.

“You ain't steering this boat. Let's go, chop, chop”

“You know, this isn't gonna work” Sam spoke and Dean stopped to face him.

“What isn't?”

“Us. You, me, together…the four of us…I thought it could, but it can't”

“You're the ones that wanted back in, chief”

“And you're the ones who called us back in” Brit voiced.

“Well, we still got some trust building we all have to do…” I said lightly.

At this moment, I was the one who wanted the peace between all of us…I’m usually the one fighting, how did I end up being the mature one?

“How long are we gonna be on double-secret probation?” Sam asked. “Till I say so” Dean shrugged.

“Look. We know what we did. What we've done. And we are trying to climb out of that hole but you're not making it any easier”

“So what are we supposed to do, just let you both off the hook?” Dean asked, gesturing to me and him. I sighed.

“No. You can think whatever you want. We deserve it, and worse”

“Hell, neither of you will ever punish us as much as we’re punishing ourselves, but the point is, if we're gonna be a team, the four of us…it has to be a two-way street” Brit said.

“So we just go back to the way we were before?”

“No, because we were never that way before. Before didn't work…how do you think we got here?”

“What's that supposed to mean?”

“Dean, one of the reasons I went off with Ruby…was to get away from you. It made me feel strong. Like I wasn't your kid brother”

I saw how that really hurt Dean but he kept up a poker face. “And it made me feel like I was my own person… like I wasn’t your kid sister…or your sidekick no matter how much you assured me that I wasn’t” Brit said, looking at me.

I felt my stomach churn. “Are you saying this is our fault?” Dean asked, narrowing his eyes.

“No, it's our fault. All I'm saying is that, if we're gonna do this, we have to do it different, we can't just fall into the same rut” Sam said and I knew this turned into a conversation just between the two of them, Brit and I weren’t in the room anymore. I saw she knew that too.

“What do you want me to do?” Dean asked.

“You're gonna have to let me grow up, for starters”

Then it was silent between all of us. Dean made eye contact with me. “Can I talk to you in the hallway, please?” he asked, stiffly. I sighed and gave reassuring nods to Sam and Brit as I smiled lightly.

We walked out into the hallway and shut the door. “Okay, what do I do? Tell me what to do”

“You want me to tell you what to do?” I questioned, skeptical.

“Yea, just…I don’t know…I don’t know what to do…”

“You do exactly what Sam said…you let him grow up…just like I have to let Brit grow up…”

“So it’s just like that…we just trust them again…”

“Dean, you heard what Sam had to say to you…he was being honest…we cant afford to lose them both again…we’re all in the same boat again. What happened is in the past now, it already happened and there’s nothing we can do about it…all we can do now is trust each other and keep moving forward, fighting side by side, without worrying about whether someone is lying or not…that’s what we do” I told him.

He just stared at me for a moment, looking into my eyes. Then, he nodded and kissed me passionately. Then I put a hand on his cheek and we headed back inside to Sam and Brit…but before Dean could talk, his cell phone rang. He sighed and answered. I didn’t bother trying to listen.

“…yeah. Yeah, okay…” Then, he hung up and looked at Sam and Brit. “I guess you were right about this not being over” he said.

So, we got back to the sheriff’s department and talked to sheriff Carnegie who was so flustered and confused, he just pointed to the interrogation room where two woman were sitting side by side, crying. We walked in to talk to them and they were talking in incomplete sentences to each other…but apparently Paris Hilton kidnapped their friend, Danielle. Which led us to the conclusion that we weren’t dealing with a ghost…or Paris Hilton is just a homicidal maniac.

In any case, Sam thought it would be a good idea to go check out Cal’s body in the morgue…and I decided I would go with him while Brit went with Dean this time. We were switching it up. They all gave me weird looks when I suggested it but I felt it would be a good thing. So, Sam and I jacked some scrubs and acted like we worked in the hospital.

“So…what made you think we should switch it up this time around?” he asked as we walked down a hallway.

“I thought it would be good for all of us…Dean and Brit used to be really close…he considered her his best friend and they haven’t had best friend time in a long time…” I said.

“Oh…” he nodded, looking down.

I saw how he looked kind of hurt and disappointed. “I also did it so I could have best friend time with you too” I told him, smiling warmly at him.

He smiled, looking down at me. His expression faltered though. “Brit told me how she asked for you to talk to Dean…and don’t say it wasn’t a big deal, because it is…he values what you have to say and if you told him to have a change of heart…I’m grateful…but I still know you aren’t on board…”

“Sam…you know I love you like a brother…I was just watching out for Brittney…”

“And I dragged her into the mess so you’re mad at me…”

“I was mad at you…but I’m not anymore. Brit has a mind of her own and she could’ve walked away from what you were doing…but she didn’t, so if I was mad at you, I’d be mad at her too…and right now, I’m tired of being mad”

He nodded and was silent as we stepped in front of the morgue and he opened the door for me, we both stepped inside and he shut the door.

“I’m sorry though…I’m sorry I’m such a freak and that I couldn’t see the truth…that I couldn’t protect Brittney from any of it” he said, looking down.

“Sam…the only thing freaky about you is your height” I joked lightly, smiling and he cracked a smile too.

“You aren’t the only one. Hell, Sammy, I’m the real freak out of all of us…we’re all freaks in our own way though…Dean’s even a little freaky” I said, making a face and he laughed.

It was a genuine laugh…and it made me smile. “And he drives me crazy most of the time so I need you to vent to about him…it’s different if I’m talking to you about him and not Brit…Sam, you’re brother is a crazy son of a bitch” I said and he laughed again.

“Well, I’m here…not going anywhere” he said and I just smiled at him.

I pulled out Cal’s body from the freezer and handed Sam the scalpel. “Get cutting” I said, folding my arms.

He was still smiling, showing his teeth as he let out a breath and shook his head as he cut down Cal’s chest. We both made faces and when he shoved his gloved hand inside, I made a gagging noise as Sam cringed slightly. But, then he frowned as he pulled out his hand and his fingers were covered in blood as he held out two small round objects in his hand.

“What the hell?” we both said, exchanging looks and examining the objects at the same time.

Brittney’s POV

Dean and I were in the Impala, driving around in an awkward silence. I felt him glancing at me when I wasn’t looking and when he wasn’t looking, I would glance at him as well.

“You hungry?” he finally asked. “Yea, a little” I said, quickly, nodding. “Cool…” he said, nodding as well. “Dandy” he added.

I made a face. Then, I started laughing under my breath and he did the same. We got to a fast food place and without asking me what I wanted, he ordered for me…and it was exactly what I wanted. I was a little shocked by it. He pulled over and parked in the parking lot so we could both eat. I took a bite of my specified salad.

“How did you know what to order for me?” I finally asked.

“Well…” He swallowed. “It’s not like I forgot what you like and don’t like Short Stuff”

I smiled lightly, nodding down at my food. We were silent again. “Okay…” he said, wiping the crumbs off his hands and turned his head to look at me so I looked back at him. “I don’t want us to be socially awkward with each other”

“Well, I don’t want that either”

“Good. Brit…Mel’s my girlfriend...friend with benefits, whatever you wanna call her...and most of the time she’s a freakin pain in the ass and I know I can tell Sam about it but he likes to stay on her good side since hes been working on getting their friendship back and it’s more fun if I vent about her to her best friend and I know you’ll badmouth her to me too…I need that…as much as I love the girl, she drives me crazy sometimes…”

I laughed. “Ya know, she says the same thing about you”

“She does? What does she…never mind…what I’m saying is…”

“You need your best friend back in your life…awww Dean, that’s the cutest thing you’ve never said to me” I said and he chuckled.

“Yea…and…I’m sorry…” he said. I lightened up and nodded.

My POV

Dean and Brit met us outside the coroner’s office and explained to them how we missed something completely. Both of the other two vics had major blood loss…more blood loss than a car crash or a bullet wound should cause…which meant something fed on them. Then we showed them what we found in Cal’s body. They were seeds, in the stomachs of both of the vics. We needed more information so we got back to the motel and Sam and Brit hit the laptops until they found out the seeds are from a forest in the Balkans, in Eastern Europe which isn’t even there anymore. They chopped it down about 30 years ago. The local legend has it that the forest was guarded by a pagan god whose name was Leshi who took on infinite forms and liked to munch on its fans. It was only appeased with blood from his worshippers, it would drain them and then stuff their stomachs with seeds. Apparently he can just touch an item that belonged to a dead person and he becomes that person…and we have to chop off his head with an iron axe…so that’s where we were heading…to gank ourselves a Paris Hilton.

We got back to the museum and snuck in and split up to look in each room but then Sam whistled for us so we got back to him in front of a door that had a sign saying "Sorry for the inconvenience, CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS. DANGER DO NOT ENTER". We kicked open the door and pushed through a plastic sheet, heading into a room that was decorated like a clearing in the woods with a path leading up to a white house with a wax figure of a man in a suit standing on the front porch. Then, I saw a girl tied to one of the fake trees. I guessed she was Daniele.

“Hey, guys” I said and rushed to her. “She alive?” Dean asked as I checked for her pulse. “Yeah. Barely” I said.

But, then I jumped slightly, startled by Dean’s axe almost flying into me, but it missed by a few inches and flew into the other fake tree beside me. I spun around quickly and saw Paris Hilton…or I should say Leshi…punch Dean multiple times in the face and he flew the ground. Sam and Brit lunged at her but she got them both down, unconscious as I grabbed the axe to swing at her but she stopped me and grabbed my the neck and she started to choke me. Then, she punched me in the face and darkness overcame me.

~~

When I started to come to, I realized Dean and I were tied together to one tree as Sam and Brit were tied together to another just like Danielle was. “Oh. I'm so glad you're awake for this. This is gonna be huge” Leshi said, imitating Paris as she sat on a stump.

“Super. Yeah, I wouldn't wanna miss it” Dean said.

“I mean, I've been stuffing myself with fast food lately. So it's nice to do the ritual right. Prepare a nice, slow meal for a change”

“Just like the good old days, huh?” Sam commented.

“You have no idea. People adored me. They used to throw themselves at me, with smiles on their faces”

“Yeah, I guess these days nobody gives a flying crap about some backwoods forest god, huh?” I quipped.

“No. Not since they cut down my forest and built a Yugo plant” she glared at me as she was sharpening her nails on a knife. “March of progress, sister” Dean said.

“For years now, I've been wandering. Hungry. Scared. Scrounging for scraps. So not sexy…but then, the best thing ever happened…someone tripped the apocalypse. And I thought, what the hell, I'm tired of watching what I eat. I wanna pig out. So I found this little place. It's awesome. Adoring fans stroll right in the door”

“Yeah. But they're not your fans” Brit said.

“So? They worship Lincoln, Gandhi, Hilton...whatever. I'll take what I can get”

“You know, I gotta tell you, you are not the first god we've met, but you are...the nuttiest” Dean said.

“No, you, you people, you're the crazy ones. You used to worship gods. But this? This is what passes for idolatry? Celebrities? What have they got besides small dogs and spray tans?” she questioned, gesturing to her body disguised at Paris.

“You people used to have old-time religion. Now you have Us Weekly

“I don't know, I'm more of a Penthouse Forum man myself” Dean winked.

“Maybe, but...there's still a lot of yummy meat on those bones, boy”

“Well I hate to break it to you, sister, but, you can't eat me. See, I'm not a Paris Hilton BFF. I've never even seen House of Wax” I told her.

“No. But I can totally read your mind, Melissa. I know who your hero is. Your daddy. Am I right? Daddy's little girl” she asked.

I didn’t reply though. I just stared her down as she started to smirk as she turned around to get the axe. I felt Dean pulling at the ropes and I did the same thing.

“And I can read your mind Dean, your hero is your daddy too…and this belonged to him. Didn't it? Poor little Dean. All you ever wanted was to be loved by your idol. One distant father figure, coming right up” she said but we slipped out of the ropes and Dean ran and tackled her down before she could touch the axe.

I raced to Brit and Sam to get them out of the ropes while Dean was getting the crap beat out of him. Once I cut them out of the ropes, I raced over to get the axe as Sam pulled Leshi off Dean and him and Brit worked together to beat his up and get him down to the ground. I rushed to them and I started to chop down on his neck with the axe as blood splattered on my face and my clothes. I didn’t stop until the head was completely decapitated.

I smeared some of the blood off and turned to see Brit try help Dean up and I saw Sam and I were both starting to grin. “Not a word” Dean grunted. “Dude…” Sam started.

“You just got whaled on by Paris Hilton!” I claimed and Sam and I were trying not to laugh so much. “Shut up” he breathed out and we laughed as Brit even joined in.

The next day, we checked out of the motel and when Brit and I got our stuff in the truck, we walked over to the Impala where Dean and Sam were standing at the trunk while Dean was on the phone. He hung up and looked at all of us.

“Sheriff Carnegie. Danielle's gonna be all right. She's sworn off The Simple Life, but other than that…”

“Glad she's okay” Brit said.

“It gets better. Sheriff's putting out an APB on Paris Hilton. That oughta be good” Dean added and chuckled.

They opened the trunk and threw their stuff in. Dean glanced at me and I gave him a look. He looked at Sam. “Hey, listen, I was thinking about what you said yesterday. About me keeping too tight of a leash on you…”

Sam looked at him. “Hell, maybe you're right. I mean, look, I'm not exactly Mister Innocent in this whole mess either, you know. I did break the first seal”

“You didn't know”

“Yea, well neither did you two” I spoke up.

“I'm not saying demon blood was a great way to go, but, you both did kill Lilith” Dean said. “And start the apocalypse” Sam said.

“Which none of us saw coming, I mean, who'd have thought killing Lilith would've been a bad thing?” I questioned.

“Point is, I was so worried about watching your every move that I didn't see what it was actually doing to both of you. So, for that I'm sorry” He paused.

Then, he looked at me. “And I’m sorry I don’t listen to you” he said to me. I smiled lightly at him. He looked back at Sam and Brit. “Thanks” they both said.

“So where do we go from here?” Dean asked as he shut the trunk. “The way I see it, we got one shot at surviving this” Brit said. “What’s that?” I asked.

“Maybe we are on deck for the devil, maybe same with you two and Michael, maybe there's no changing that” Sam said. “Well that's encouraging” Dean said, sarcastically.

“But, we can stop wringing our hands over it. We gotta just grab onto whatever's in front of us, kick its ass, and go down fighting” he explained as I saw Brit was thinking the exact same thing.
“I can get on board with that” I agreed with Sam and looked at Dean. He nodded. “Me too”

“But we're gonna have to do it on the same level” Brit and Sam both said at once.

Dean and I looked at each other, grinned and then back at our younger siblings. “You got it” we both spoke at the same time as well. “Lets get the hell out of here now” I said. “Hell yeah” Brit agreed and the two of us headed over to the truck.

We both turned to see Dean give Sam the keys to the Impala and after some words shared between them, Sam got in on the drivers side. I grinned at Dean and then looked at Brit.

“Yea, okay” I said, sarcastically, rolling my eyes. She laughed. “I’m just kidding. Here. I could use a nap” I said, handing her the keys to the truck.

She grinned and got in on the drivers side as I got in on the passenger side, put my shades on and fell asleep…maybe things will start being easier for us and we’ll have some kind of normality…yea, okay, who was I kidding?
