The Other Side of the Family
A little while later me and my dad went out for lunch, it was awkward to say the least. I didnt really talk to him unless he asked me questions. Even then i gave little one word answers. I was just extremely uncomfortable, i wanted this to end ASAP. After lunch he brought me to my grandmas house to see her.
"Hey mom, look who i brought with me" he said
"Who is this?" she asked
"Your grandaughter, Renae" he said and she instantly looked happy but shocked
"Renae, really?" she asked
"Yep" i said
"Its so good to see you!, i havnt seen you in so long. How are you sweetheart, hows your mom?" she asked hugging me, she seemed pretty nice
"Im good, my moms doing good" i said
"Good im so glad" she said
"Can you believe how grown up she is mom?" he asked
"I cant believe it, how old are you now?" she asked
"16" i said
"Really?, are you driving yet?" she asked
"My step brother took me driving once, i wanna practice more since i want my license" i said
"Oh thats good that you've tried" she said
"Mhmm" i said
"So mom whens Trevor, Lilli and Autum coming?" he asked my grandma
"Who?" i asked
"Your uncle, aunt and cousin. And they'll be here soon" she said and i nodded
"Okay" he said
A little while later they arrived, i was very uncomfortable when i first met them. After a while i warmed up them though. Me and Autum got along really well since we were the same age, she was so nice. When the adults were all talking we decided to go for a walk down the street.
"So 20 question?, you know get to no eachother better?" she asked
"Yeah sure" i said
"Okay, me first. Are you seeing anyone? and if so then whats his name?" she asked
"Yeah i am. His name is zack, you?" i asked
"Nope" she said
"Cool. Whens your birthday?" i asked
"Augest 19th, yours?" she asked
"May 10th" i said
"Sweet, how many siblings do you have?" she asked
"Just one, a step brother named Alex. You?" i askd
"Uhmm, two brothers who are twins. Their names are Kyle and Max" she said
"Really?!, thats so cool!" i said
"Mhmmm" she said
"Yeah, so since were getting along so well. Do you wanna exchange numbers? so we can hangout again?" i asked
"Sure" she said and we exchanged phones to type in our numbers
After we got back to the house me and my dad only stayed a little longer before we left. I was surprised how well i got along with my other family, well i didnt get along to well with my dad yet. But he was the one who left me when i was little so who could blame me. We got back to my house and i said bye before going inside.
"Hey im home" i said walking in the livingroom
"Hey!, how was it?!" my mom asked
"Not bad, i met my aunt, cousin and grandma and uncle" i said
"Thats great!" she said
"Mhmmm. Well im gonna go call Zack, see ya later" i said and went up to my room
