"She's gone, gone!" he exclaims, his hands running frantically through his hair. "She's fucking gone!"
His friends stand awkwardly in his living room, exchanging glaces every few minutes, not sure what to do. "Look, maybe this is just another one of her stunts," Max tries to reason. "Maybe she'll be back tomorrow."
"No," Collin says sharply. "No not this time."
"How do you know?" William asks. "What happened?"
"I just," he stumbles over his words, trying hard to concentrate, "I just know." It's silent, except Collin's staggered breaths.
"God, oh God," he whimpers, almost forgetting he's not alone. "What am I going to do?" He looks at his friends helplessly, his eyes filling with tears. "What am I supposed to do?"
