Too Good to Be True

Back To School

Iona's POV

How long is this going to go on for?" Hailey groaned into my ear. I shrugged before pulling her through the crowd of over-enthusiastic girls. That didn't seem to stop them.

"But Hailey....!"

"Is it true!?"

"Tell us!"

We blended into the sea of pupils who where making their way into the cafeteria. I had even lost Hailey! A hand reached out and dragged me into an open space.

"Thank god Hailey!" I breathed, laughing.

"As if you're not used to it," she laughed back, and we made our way over to 'our' table, waving at Ollie and Mandy as we approached. Ollie squealed and ran up to us.

"We haven't seen you in forever!," she said excitedly hugging Haileu, before stepping out of the way to let Mandy hug her. As I hugged Ollie, I felt her tense up.

"Ollie?" I asked her, pulling away. She was staring at Hailey's hand.

"OH MY GOD!" she gasped, causing many people to turn around. She looked at both Hailey and I with wide eyes before pointing to the ring. "Are you ENGAGED!?" Hailey couldn't help but roll her eyes. Who could blame her? Hundreds of people had been asking her the same question all day.

"No, Ollie. Look, it's on my right hand," she said, holding it up to show her. "It's a promise ring." This didn't make Ollie any less speechless, by the looks of it.

"Is...did....it...is,"

"Yeah..." I saw Hailey smile, something I hadn't seen her do the past two days. "...it was Frank,"

I laughed at Ollie's excitement, and she reached out to give her another massive hug, and Mandy followed. She wasn't anywhere near as excited, but hey, she barely even knew who the guy was.

"We're coming to the wedding right?" Mandy giggled as walked away from the table, and it was my turn to talk. WEDDINGS!

"Oh my gosh! Yes! We should have all of our friends! Including Lozza and Elena..oh! And a massive cake! It has to be massive...but where will we have it, Las Vegas?"

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves," Hailey laughed, "We've just-" She stopped halfway, and stood frozen in front of the tall skinny figure. I snarled once I recognised who it was.

"Well hi there!" Ashley said with fake cheeriness. Hailey was too stressed out to be bothered by the looks of it, and just pushed her away. I almost pounced on her when the slut grabbed her arm. "Where do you think you're going?" I opened my mouth to say something, but then she caught sight of Hailey's right ring finger....

"It's a promise ring," Hailey blurted out before Ashley could say anything, and yanked her hand back. I wanted to laugh at Ashley's shock. I wonder if she knew who it was that gave her that ring...

"And it was from-" Mandy began, but all of us spun around to glare at her. Well that was a close one! It didn't take a genius to know that she would tell the whole damn school. Ashley couldn't keep her mouth shut (Yes, I mean that too).

"Hailey, can I talk to you?" Kim asked nervously from behind Ashley.

"Well there's someone we haven't seen in a while!" I said sarcastically. It was hard not to laugh at how scared she clearly was. I walked up to her, putting my face in hers. "What do you want?" I snarled. She stepped back, and looked at Hailey.

"I want to talk, i'll be quick, I promise!" She looked around at us and I rolled my eyes. Ollie and Mandy shrugged but nodded towards the lunch queue. I groaned and followed them, but not before whispering to Hailey.

"I'll just be over there," She nodded, and I slowly walked away.

Hailey's POV
"What do you want?" I hissed at Kim once Ashley and Iona had left. I was in a real piss-poor mood, and this didn't really add to 'Things That Make Me Smile'.

"Frank, right?" she whispered, pointing to my promise ring. I instinctively glanced down at it, and immediatley thought of Frank. He was somewhere in Europe, performing in front of another hundred or thousands of people. Well maybe not now, he was probably in sound check, but still...I miss him. And it's only been two days.

I sighed sadly. Kim already knew the answer, she didn't need me to tell her. Suddenly a thought hit me. Glanced up at her sharply, but she cut me off.

"I'm not gonna blab, Hailey. You may think me a bitch, but i'm not that bad." I couldn't help but nod. We may not be on the best of terms, but I had known her most of my life. I could tell she was telling the truth.

"Is that all you wanted?" I grumbled. It clearly wasn't, but what was the harm in asking.

"No, I wanted to apologise again..." Ok, I regret it now. "I know I screwed up Hailey, but it was just one thing! Everyone makes mistakes! You've made mistakes!"

"It's not just that Kim! You chose that harlot (A/N - hehe!) over us! Your friends!"

"I- it- You were going to come out anyway!" she protested. I fought the urge to give her a well-deserved slap.

"Stay the fuck away from me Kim," I spat, before walking over to the lunch queue. I sat down against the wall, burying my head into my knees just as my friends came over.

"Come on, Hailey," Mandy soothed, sitting beside me and putting her arm around me. I looked up to see Iona with a smile on her face.

"Well someone's happy," I said, sniffing. She smiled even wider, before looking around at the guys.

"Who's up for a party?"

Firstly, I AM SOO SORRY!
I know there was a massive wait, but I had writer's block, and it was fucking hell Dx
I can't promise it won't happen again, but i'll do all I can to make sure there's no more than a month's wait.

I know this seems like so much of a filler, but i'm still recovering from writer's block, and I read somewhere that the best thing to do is write, but not worry about the quality/spelling etc. So this will probably be really crap, but I hated keeping you guys waiting Dx

Back soon :) x
