The New Assistant

Understanding Part 1.

"I'll tell you about me, if you tell me about you first." The Doctor told her, enjoying holding her hand.

"Deal." Mirna said with a smirk, she obviously loved smirking.

Back at her apartment, there was a clatter of pots in the kitchen.

"Mom?" Mirna called out.

"I thought you said you were an orphan!" The Doctor hissed quietly.

"I might as well be." she mumbled, then walked into the kitchen.

Suddenly, he understood. Her mother must never be here. he thought.

"Who are you?!" a stout, drunk looking woman came in, and asked him.

"Oh, I-I'm-"

"He's a friend, mom!" Mirna shouted from her room.

"Ah, well, she might be in there for a while. Wanna fool around?" her mom said, moving forward.

The Doctor backed up, and stuttered. "U-um, M-ma'am, I-I.."

"Mom!" Mirna came in and shouted, a bag full of things in her hands, "I swear, you are such a slut! You hit on anyone with a pulse!" She got in between The Doctor and her mom, and pushed the woman away. "C'mon, Doc." she said, and grabed his hand as she walked out.

Mirna took him to a park, where she spread out a blanket for them to lie on

"Sorry about my mom." she said, still angry, "I didn't think she'd be home yet. She probably just came home to get money for the bar." she scoffed.

"I didn't know-" The Doctor started, putting a hand on her arm.

"No one does," she stated, "I'm ashamed to call myself her daughter, so I never tell anyone."

"I'm so sorry. No one should grow up with that." He paused a second before asking "Where's your dad?"

"Loony pin. I think my mom put him there." she said with a chuckle. "I've been on my own since I was six, basically." She whipped her head around to him. "What about you?"

He took a deep breath. "I'm from the planet Galiffrey. I'm a Time Lord."

"So you're...?" she said, putting two fingers on her head for antene, and went wooh.

He couldn't help but laugh. "Yes, I'm an alien."

"You look human, though. Who's skin did you steal?" she asked, proping up on her elbow.

"Time Lords and humans look the same, oddly enough. But Time Lords came first."

"How did you get to earth?"

"Oh, I have a little blue box."

Anna raised a brow. "A little blue box?"

The Doctor was happy for the first time since he lost Donna.

"Keep up!" Mirna shouted from in front of him, running still.

He stopped to take a breath. "How...is it...that...I know...where it is, but you're beating me there?!"

She just turned around, walking backwards, and laughed.

He only caught up to her when she stopped at the TARDIS.

"A souvenir from jolly ol' England?" she said with a chuckle.

"Go inside." You could hear the anticipation in his voice.

"Okay," she said, walking inside, "Holy crap!"

He couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, that never gets old!" he said, following her inside.

"This. Is. So cool!" Mirna was touching everything, and watching the center flux.

"It doesn't just take me too other places," He leaned to whisper in her ear, "It takes me through time."
