My Boyfriend Is My Step-Brother

My Boyfriend Is My Step-Brother Chapter 1

“Mary-Kate you’re gonna make us late” I shouted from downstairs.
“If you say that again I will kick your ass” she yelled to me.
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over chest as I waited for her.
I’m Holly. My twin, Mary-Kate, is older by five minutes and she never lets me forget it. Mary- Kate, also known as Kate, and I look alike.
The last thing Kate wanted was to look like me. She died her hair black and got red highlights and she pierced her noise. I’m known as the ‘good one’ and she’s the ‘bad girl’.
One of the few things Kate and I have in common is our love for music.
We started a band with our four best friends. Today was our first gig and she was making us late.
“Okay, I’m ready” she said coming down stairs with her guitar. “By the way, call me Mary- Kate again and I will hurt you” she said walking by me.
I rolled my eyes and followed her out the door.
“About time” said our drummer, Kelly.
“Blame her” I said as I finished packing our van.
“Guys no time were late” said our keyboard player, James.
We hoped in the van and drove to the park.
Once we got the park, I noticed how many people were here. We never performed in such a huge crowded, or any crowd.
We got on the stage and got ready.
We were going to go on soon.
I’m the lead singer, Mary-Kate is lead guitar, Dylan plays the guitar guy, James plays the keyboard, Kelly plays the drums and Frankie play the bass.
I gave a quick peep talk and we took our spots. I grabbed my guitar as the curtains opened.
“Hello everyone!” I said into the microphone. The crowd before me cheered.
I could feel myself glowing with excitement.
“How are you guys today?”
The crowded cheered again and Kate started to play the intro to our first song.
“Are you guys ready to party? Are you guys ready to rock?!”
The crowd cheered.
“I don’t think they’re ready,” Kate said making them cheer louder.
I laughed. “Okay, okay, we’re going to kick off the show with one of my favorite songs, ‘Prefect Summer’”
We started to play and the crew danced to the music.
As I looked at the people a face caught my eye.
A very cute face.
He was about my age and he made eye contact with me.
He grinned and made his way over.
I smiled a little bit wider as the song ended and Kelly started the next one.
The guy stood in the front row of the crowd of people smiling up at me.
I grinned back and started signing.

Our time was over and the next band hit the stage.
The guys and I were back stage and were so hyped up about our first show.
“Dude, we killed it!” Frankie said.
“We were amazing,” Kelly said.
“Did you see the cute up front?” Kate asked.
“Yeah,” I smiled.
“Cute guy? Where?” Kelly asked looking around.
“His out there somewhere,” I said.
“And he was checking you out girl,” Kate said hip bumping me.
The guys walked from us as we laughed.
Girl talk isn’t their thing.
“Go out there and get your flirt on,” Kelly said pushing me away.
I laughed and joined the crowd of people I made my way over to the food table and pilled food on my plate.
“You were amazing,” my mom said.
“Thanks,” I smiled.
“You killed it,” my father said giving me a fist punch.
I smiled. “Thanks,” I said as they walked away.
My parents are divorced and hate each other. But they manage to pull themselves together for Kelly and I.
I stood near a tree and watched the other band play.
They were good.
Really good.
“Hey,” a voice said from behind me.
I turned around and there he was.
The cute guy from before.
“You were amazing up there,”
“Thanks,” I smiled.
“Kendall,” he smiled.
“Holly,”
“Nice to meet you,”
I smiled. “Are you new here?” I asked.
“Yeah, my dad’s girlfriend lives here and they’re getting married so, we moved,”
“That must suck,”
“Yeah. So, um, did you write those songs?”
“Yup. Mostly me, the others helped,”
“Cool,”
“Yeah,”
“Would you like to dance?” He asked.
“Sure,” I said resting my plate still full of food on the ground.
*****
A week or so past and Kendall and I stared dating.
He was the best boyfriend ever.
He calls me everyday and we spend every moment together.
My mom has been out a lot to.
Ever since her boyfriend moved into town.
They planed on getting married.
I’ve never meet the guy, but I will tonight.
Kate and I were getting ready to go out to dinner with my mom to meet our soon to be dad and his family.
We arrived at the restaurant and the waitress led us over to our table.
My mom smiled as soon as she saw him.
“John,” she grinned.
“Clarissa,” he grinned back.
Kate and I exchanged looks and slowly walked over to the table.
“Holly?”
I turned my head to see Kendall.
“Kendall?”
“You two know each other?” John asked.
“Yeah,” I said.
“Dad, that’s my girlfriend,”
Kate just laughed.
