Alexander and Elizabeth

Love is the most important thing in life. It has changed me and made my life so much better. It has given me hope. And I am grateful for it. We are laying in bed about to go to sleep. my face is blank and I'm fiddling with my hair. Alex can tell my mind is doing Olympic laps.

" what's wrong love? cant sleep?" his voice wrapped me in a warm, soft embrace. I shiver and curled up closer to him. He lifts his arm around me and squeezes my hips gently. his hand traces my body and lifts my chin up so I can see his warm chocolate eyes and he can see my gold ones. Where his hand touches me I am left with a trail of warmth. I am still amazed at how he makes me feel every single day. Its important to me as air. We have been engaged for three
long, amazing years.

"I'm fine, just thinking about my thesis." This was only a half lie. I was keeping from him the fact that my depression was slowly returning. I was however at this moment thinking about the fact that my proposal was due next week. Alex had read over it for me and helped me with my wording. He was pretty confident that it would get accepted, but I was less sure of myself.

"Love, you're an amazing scientist don't worry about it." he whispered in my ear, distracting me even further. He had always had a talent for that. Then he bit my ear and kissed my neck and I was hopelessly and gladly distracted for the rest of the night.
