Katastrophic Breakdown

Our First Demo

I walked into the living room and sat down in the la-z-boy recliner and turned up the volume to my ipod. I was listening to the songs I wrote and recorded before I went to the hospital. I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling for a while before I unlocked my ipod and looked at the list of songs in the playlist. I sighed when I hit the next button and "The Pot", a song me and Annabeth wrote while I was in the hospital. I started tapping my foot to the beat and humming the lyrics when the front door opened up and Scott and Jordan walked in. Jordan waved to me as Scott closed the door. I pulled out one of my ear buds so I could hear.
"What's up you two?" I asked as I started to get up. "Nothin, just comin to get you. I thought you'd be upstairs so i closed the door. If i had known you were down here, i wouldn't have."
"Coming to get me? What for? We don't have practice today and we don't have any new songs to put on our demo." Scott smiled as Jordan giggled and spoke for the first time. "Drake wrote a new song." I smiled and got up. I walked towards the door and picked up my guitar as i opened the door and started walking. "Lets go you two. we don't wanna be late for the recording of the last song on our demo."

Me, Jordan, and Scott walked into Drake's garage where Reese and Annabeth had gotten there first and were already going over their parts. I walked up to Drake. "So? Who's singing it, and Whose got lead guitar?" Drake gave me some music and told me to stand infront of the far right microphone. I nodded as I memorized the chords for guitar and my lyrics as back vocalist. "What's this song about Drake?" I asked as we all got in our places, ready to record the song. "The Salem Witch Trials. It's kinda obvious isn't it?" He said as he plugged his guitar into his amp. "Me and Reese have an ancestor who was tried at the Salem Witch Trials." I raised an eyebrow and left it at that as Jordan pressed record and we all played our parts the way they were supposed to with me playing lead guitar with Drake singing lead vocals.
We started with a faded guitar and it goes into a more distinct guitar chord progression with Me and Reese doing a long scale of notes. Drake steps up to the mic and starts singing with the guitars cut out and just the bass and drums play until the chorus.
"Let the rain fall down, let it fall to the ground,
Let the rain fall down to the ground.
And the birds don't sing, no they don't make a sound,
When you're six feet underground.

Well they cast me out when the word spread around
That I never sang in the church.
And it took one night for the town to decide
I'm afflicted by the curse.

And the rain falls down, let it fall to the ground.
And the birds don't sing, no they don't make a sound.
So I look to the sky, tell me why, tell me why,
Do they all get to live, and I have to die?

So they marched me down to the center of town,
With their pitchforks high in the air.
I was chained and bound with a blindfold around
So the judge wouldn't catch my stare.
And they hung my soul from the gallows pole
But the witch they never found.
So to those who don't fit society's mold,
Learn to swim or you will drown.

And the rain falls down, let it fall to the ground.
And the birds don't sing, no they don't make a sound.
So I look to the sky, tell me why, tell me why,
Do they all get to live, and I have to die?

And the angels sing: let it shine, let it shine,
Dry the teardrops from my eyes.
And the bells will ring when the blind lead the blind,
'Cause the dead can't testify.
And because I can't take an eye for an eye,
In the afterlife I'll haunt you 'till you die!
I start playing a little louder than everyone else and then i hit the volume knob on my guitar and start playing the solo. After the solo i start singing my backing vocals...well screaming is more like it.

And the rain falls down, let it fall to the ground
(Let teardrops hit the ground!)
And the birds don't sing, no they don't make a sound
(When you're six feet underground!)

And the angels sing: let it shine, let it shine,
Dry the teardrops from my eyes.
And the bells will ring when the blind lead the blind,
'Cause the dead can't testify.
And because I can't take an eye for an eye,
In the afterlife I'll haunt you 'till you die!
NOOOOOOO!!"
We wait for the echos to end and then Jordan presses stop and we all turn our equipment off. "This is going to be one hell of a demo for record companies to listen to. I don't think there isn't going to be on company out there that won't want us." Resse said with a great big smile on his face. I shrugged as i thought about all the fans we'll get if we became bigger than Suicidal Silence. I smiled and packed up my guitar. "I'm going home. See you guys later."
"Your'e not gonna hang out more?" Drake asked as they all watched my retreating figure. I waved with my arm above my head as i turned back to look at them as I was leaving. "Nope, I'm tired and I wanna go to bed and sleep more than i've been able to." Everyone waved and said goodbyes.Annabeth volunteered to come with me but I politely declined her offer telling her I just wanted to sleep and not a make-out session or anything of the like. I was walking back to my house when my cell phone starting ringing.I fished it out of my pocket and looked at the caller I.D. I shrugged not recognizing the number and walked home where I would walk in the front door, trudge up the stairs and fall asleep as soon as my head hit that pillow.

I don't own any of the music or bullet for my valentine. All the other characters are pretty much mine except for a couple of star guests people like two people from Billy Talent.
