From Rags to Riches.

"What?! We're under attack by whom?!" I asked , feeling uneasy. I don't know why someone would attack Asmodeus' castle , he's done nothing wrong. He hasn't taken anything or anyone or did anything. I felt Asmodeus' hand squeeze my waist , trying to reassure me that it'll be alright.

"Your Majesties , we don't know who it is , but they sent us this!" The servant said , striding forward and handing Asmodeus a scroll. Asmodeus glanced at me for a second before unrolling the scroll. He skimmed through the writing for awhile , then anger suddenly appeared on his face.

"Get the troops ready! I know who sent us this and who's ready to attack! What are you waiting for?! GO!" He roared , dropping the scroll on the floor. The servant sputtered for a moment before bowing and running out of the room. Asmodeus stared at the door for a few seconds then turned towards me. I wrapped my arms around him and started to rub his back.

"I won't let him get you again. Never again." He said , putting his head on top of mine. We stayed like that for a couple of minutes before we had to depart. Asmodeus made me promise to stay near a bodyguard at all times till he came back. After promising that, he walked out the room with one last glance.

I sighed and plopped down in the nearest chair , wondering what was happening. Asmodeus seemed pretty mad when he read that scroll , so it must be pretty bad. Could it be an old enemy of his? An ex , perhaps? Nah, why would his ex attack him? He told me he broke them off with mutal feelings. Asmodeus' word rang throughout my head , I won't let him get you again. Never again. What did he mean by that? Could it have been my ex or something?

I rubbed my hands over my face and leaned back in my chair. My eyes skimmed the room noticing the abandoned scroll on the floor. I stared at it for a couple of seconds , deciding if I should read it or not. Standing to my feet , I walked towards it , seeing no harm if I do read it. I reached down and picked it up , smoothing it out. My eyes skimmed through it , widening in the process. As the letter ended , the scroll dropped from my hands.
