This Dream Isn't Done

“I’ll see you later,” I say as Sammy drops me off.
“Bye!” She smiles.
I get out of the car and head up to my apartment. As I get there, Liam comes out of his apartment.
"Hey!" He greets me.
"Hey."
“How was the trip?”
“Amazing,” I smile.
“Amazing? How so?”
“I met a guy there, he’s from London,” I explain, “oh my god! Babe!”
Liam chuckles, “Sammy meet anyone?”
I shake my head, “you better get on asking her out.”
He smiles, “I’m planning on it.”
I smile as I unlock my door.
“Oh! Alex was here,” he says.
“Alex? Why? When?”
“Yesterday. I don’t know why,” he shrugs, “but he thought we were dating.”
“He did?” I ask and he nods.
“Maybe you should try contacting him?”
I shrug, “if it’s important, he’ll call.”
“Alright,” Liam says, “I’ll see you later.”
“Bye,” I smile and I head inside.
I immediately clean clothes and have a shower. As I get out and dry off, I hear a knock at my door. I grab my robe and rush to the door as I tie it closed.
“Hi," perfect timing...
“Hey,” Alex says, taking in the robe.
“What’s up?” I ask as I cross my arms over my chest.
“Can I come in?”
“Um,” I hesitate, “okay.”
I let him inside, hoping this will be quick.
“Why are you here?” I ask.
“How was your trip?” He says, avoiding my question.
“Uh, it was fun.”
He nods a little, scratching the back of his head.
“Things ended with Renee.”
“They did?”
He nods a little.
“Why?”
“We didn’t want to be together,” he replies with a shrug.
“Oh, sorry to hear.”
He gives me a small smile.
“So, the guys and I are going on a trip in a couple days.”
“Yeah? Where to?”
“France,” he smiles.
“France?” I reply surprised, "that's cool! Is it for tour or...?"
"Just a trip," he responds, "personal."
"That's cool, I hope you guys have fun."
“Thanks,” he says.
“I, uh, kinda want to get dressed,” I say awkwardly.
“Oh, yeah, sorry,” he says remembering the robe.
“It’s fine,” I smile, “come back tomorrow?”
"Alright," he smiles, "see you later."
"Bye."
He heads out and I get changed and brush my teeth. So…they broke up.
