This Dream Isn't Done

“I’ve waited so long to hear this,” I whisper to Ashlynn.
She smiles at me, her lips pressing to my neck, “I’ve always wanted you.”
I grin as she pushes me back onto the bed and straddles my waist. Her lips press to mine and I kiss her back instantly.
“I love you,” I groan a little as she gently bites my neck.
She looks up at me, “I love you, too.”
I pull her down, crashing our lips together.
“Are you okay?” Renee asks tired as I sit up in bed.
I look around to her, “yeah,” I breathe, “fine.”
“Nightmare?” She asks.
I shake my head, “I don’t know what it was.”
I hear her snore slightly and I realize she fell back to sleep. I stay up, my mind on that dream. I get out of bed and head into the kitchen for some water. I sit on the couch in the living room, no longer tired.
“You’re up early,” Renee says hours later.
I look up at her, “yeah, I couldn’t fall back to sleep.”
“What was the dream?” She asks sitting beside me.
I look away from her, “ I actually don’t remember,” I lie.
“Oh,” she says quietly.
I sigh and look at her, giving her a small smile. She smiles back and gives me a quick kiss.
“We should take a trip somewhere,” I say suddenly.
She pulls back and looks at me with a raised eyebrow.
“A trip? Where?”
I shrug, “just go somewhere, get away from things.”
“Where did you have in mind?”
I remain silent as I think about this.
“France?”
“France?” She repeats.
I nod as a smile slowly creeps her face, “the place of love.”
"That's a bit much isn't it?" She asked concerned.
I give a little shrug, "it's a trip?"
“I think that would be lovely.”
“Yeah?” I ask.
She nods, “yeah! Why not?” She laughs.
“Then we’ll go.”
“Okay.”
She kisses me again and in a few hours, she goes home to get ready for work. I go on my computer to check out flights. The cheapest flights that are coming up are in a month. I book those but once I click the confirmation button, I realize that it’s not Renee I want to go with.
