One Last Kiss Before I Go

First Time for Everything

I was in my engineering class, taking notes. Sadly, Nathan was in this class and was sitting next to me. He kept trying to rub my leg but I just sat on the other side of my chair, trying to get as far as I can from him. The professor, Professor Williams, who was also my physics professor asked, "So class if we need the specific gravity of a solid, how do we find it?"

Everyone put their head down as I finished copying the notes off the board. I looked around and rolled my eyes. They're acting like they're probably did in high school...

"Mr. Blashco?"

Nathan shrugged and Professor Williams simply said, "Then I suggest you pay attention instead of bothering Ms. Levine. Speaking of her, Ms. Levine, do you know how to find the specific gravity of a solid?"

I looked and said in a monotous voice, "The weight of the body divided by the weight of equal volume in water."

"And that is correct. Thank you, Ms. Levine," Professor Williams said as he went back to lecturing.

As soon as I sat down during lunch, my phone went off. I looked at it and smiled. It was Brian. I flipped it open and pressed the talk button. "Hey, Brian."

"Hey, Missy."

I smiled. I liked the way he said hi to me. I don't know why, I just did. "Hey, I was wondering if you were doing anything tonight?"

That dragged me out of my thoughts and I glanced over at the pile of books. It wasn't a lot of homework, just a couple of packets that I could finish easy.

"Just some homework but I can finish that easy. Why?"

"Well, I was curious if you wanted to hang out tonight. Dinner...movie...I don't know."

I bit my lower lip and stared at the table.

"Sure, That would be great."

I heard him sigh. "Ok, so I'll pick you up at six?"

"Alrighy."

I was trying really hard not to smile. "Great. I’ll see you then."

I nodded. "Yup."

"Alright. Bye, Missy."

I sighed, "Bye Brian."

I stared at my mountain dew for a bit. A sigh escaped my lips as I regained my composure. Yay! I'm going to be hanging with Brian tonight! Yay me! Wow that would have been really sad if I said that out loud and did my happy dance.

Anyway, I took a bite of my cookie and pulled out my book, Fight Club. Yes, that was all I was eating for lunch. I really don't eat a lot during lunch for some reason. "So, Melissa, how about you and me get together and have some fun tonight."

I rolled my eyes at Nathan's comment. How'd I know it was him. I never let him call me "Missy." It was a nickname I let my friends and family use.

"Tough, I’m busy." He raised his eyebrows.

"Really. So you going with?"

I turned the page. "One of my friends. Brian if you must know his name."

Today must a good day. Why? Nathan left me alone and I'm hanging out with Brian tonight. I don't know why I feel like a pathetic school girl around Brian. Even if I am one but still. I loved his smile and his eyes and the way he played his guitar....everything. I think I am being pathetic.

Brian's POV

I never thought that I would spend this much thinking time on a girl. But for some reason, Missy was worth it. It’s not just because she's Zacky's cousin but something different. Whenever I looked at Missy, she'd always look back at me with her green eyes filled with mischief and trouble. I couldn't help but watch her skate down the street whenever she was going to the skatepark and I just couldn't stop smiling whenever someone said her name.

Zacky said it was fine if I dated her....as long as I didn't do something that hurts her. I still don't know if I could ask her that.....I don't know how I feel.

I sighed as I started planning the rest of the night. I had the restaurant all figured out. Zacky said Missy liked sushi so that has to be an obvious choice.

Normal POV

I got out of school and looked around the parking lot. To my surprise, there was Zacky leaning against the new BMW he bought yesterday, waiting for me. I thought today was a good day but it's not quite there yet. Why? Nathan started following me.

Zacky stared at Nathan with his eyes narrowed as he watched him follow me. Nathan's grey eyes looked at Zacky's muscular tattooed arms and said, "I'm Nathan."

Zacky snorted. "Zacky, Missy's cousin."

I smirked as Nathan made a gulp noise. I gave Zacky a hug after I put my stuff in the back and he smiled, "C'mon, Missy. You need to finish up your homework so that you and Syn have a good time."

Nathan just watched as Zacky drove off. I looked behind and laughed. "Is he the guy that's been following you around?"

I nodded and Zacky sighed. "If he follows you home, I'm ripping his nuts out. Remember that, Missy."

I couldn't help but smile. Zacky always knew how to make me feel better.

I finished my homework an hour after we got home and was currently going through my closet. Several clothes were all over my room seeing as I threw them everywhere.

"No....no....no"

It was odd. I never spent this much time finding clothes to wear for a date thing. Usually its grab something that's clean and put it on. I just....wanted to look nice for Brian. I sighed when I found of dark blue jeans and a black and purple tank top.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you have a crush on Syn."

I turned around as soon as I heard Zacky say that. I just blinked a couple of times before I felt my face turn red.

Zacky immediately smirked. "I knew it! You never spend this much time picking out clothes!"

I threw my brush at him. "Oh shut it Zacky."

He just shrugged and sat on my bed. "Still, Missy gots a wittle crushy-wushie on Syn!"

I glared at him and went through my choices. It didn't occur to me how many pairs of skate shoes and motocross boots I had until this moment. "Arg! I must be pathetic! Who else but me as this many vans and motocross boots!"

"Missy, just pick something. Whatever you wear, Syn will be fine with it."

A sigh escaped my lips as I took out a HIM hoodie. I sat down next to Zacky and grabbed my brush. "I'm acting like a pathetic school girl."

Zacky smiled and ruffled my hair. "You are but hey, as long as you're happy. I'm fine with it. And if Syn does something that makes you uncomfortable, I'll kick his ass."

I just smiled.

I sat on the couch, waiting for Brian as I read a book. I finally decided on my dark blue jeans, black and purple blouse, and my vans. I also decided to wear my hair down, as well. My watch beeped and I looked down at it. It was habit. 6:00 pm.

"He's late," said Zacky in an annoyed voice.

My response was to shrug and say, "Maybe he's running late."

Zacky scoffed and muttered something I couldn't understand.

Right on queue, the doorbell rang and Zacky immediately answered it.

"You're late," Zacky growled as he opened the door.

Brian just shrugged and said, "I couldn't find my wallet."

I laughed as I got up. "You do anything that upsets her and I swear I'll hunt you down and murder you."

"Zacky, stop being a fag," I said as I got up.

He pouted as I walked out the door. Brian followed me and said, "I promise, I won't don anything, Zacky."

He opened the door for me and I got in. I watched him get in the driver's side and turn the ignition. "Please tell me Zacky wasn't lying to me when he said you like sushi," Brian said as he pulled out of the driveway.

I smiled and replied, "I love sushi."

Brian sighed in relief when I said that. "Good, 'cause I don't want to take you somewhere you'll hate."

We ended up talking about Australia and my family and friends. "So you are your siblings are close, despite the fact that you're 14 years older than them?"

"Yeah, me, Codey, and Jenna are pretty tight. It's funny cause when they were really little, they couldn't say 'Melissa' or 'Missy' so they called me 'Mellie'......sometimes they still call me that."

He smiled as he pulled into a parking spot. We both got out and walked across the street.

"Ok, you might want to help me order, Missy. I have no clue what any of this shit is," Brian said as he stared at the menu.

I looked up at him and smiled, "Sure, Brian."We I ordered the food and drinks and looked at the salt shaker, not really sure of what to say. "Um, thanks for taking me out tonight."

He looked at me and gave that killer smile. "Thanks for coming, Missy."

Brian's POV

When I saw Missy, I really wanted to let my jaw drop. She looked amazing. She had a simple outfit but still she was just drop dead gorgeous. Missy's probably the first girl that I don't see as how little clothing she's wearing or how much make-up is on her face. And she actually has a brain! Missy has a fucking brain which makes her even more different than the other girls I dated. The girls that I've dated are dumber than a box of rocks. Yes, they make rocks look smart. "Oh my god! You're Melissa Levine!"

I looked at a guy around 21 who was walking past us. Missy nodded and laughed when she looked at him. "Indeed. I am Melissa Levine."

"Can I have an autograph," he asked, clearly hopeful.

She smiled and signed a piece of paper and handed it back to him. "Here you go, have a nice night."

He nodded and walked off, clearly grateful for getting Missy's signature. I looked back at Missy who went back to staring at the salt shaker. "Hey Missy."

She looked at me and cocked her head. I smirked and said, "Stop looking at the damn salk shaker."

She smiled and said,” Then throw me a bone here, Brian. I don't know what to talk about."

I laughed. "True....tell me more about Australia, then."

Missy bit her lower lip, trying to think of something. "The Opera House is so fun. One time, me, Ryan, Corey Bohen, and Cam White were there and I bet Bohen fifty bucks that he couldn't bunny hop the steps. He had like five more steps then he ate it."

"Oh, that sucks," I said as the waiter handed us our food.

She smirked and said, "Sucked for Bohen, but it was funny for the rest of us. Besides I got fifty bucks."

Missy's POV

"Dinner was great," I said as we exited the restaurant.

He smiled and said, "There's one more thing before we call it a night."

I looked at him and cocked my head, raising an eyebrow at the same time. Brian just smiled as we got into his Escalade and drove off.

He pulled into a parking spot at the beach. I looked around as we got out, looking for any clue for why we were here. "You're not going to find any clues, Missy," Brian laughed as he grabbed my hand, leading me to the sand.

I looked at him funny as he stopped at a random spot and sat down. My attention turned to the black sea. It was so much like home.

"Look at the sky."

I followed Brian's instructions and looked at the sky. My jaw dropped.

"Holy fucking shit, Brian! It's so beautiful," I said as I stared at the black sky filled with the shining stars.

I heard Brian give a small laugh as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"Hey, Missy," He said.

I turned to look at him but found his lips on my own. I was in shock for a brief moment, but that soon faded away. Brian pulled away and looked at me. I stared at him as I whispered, "What was that for?"

"I really like you, Missy," he whispered back, his fingers running down my jaw line.

I smiled back as I said, "I really like you too, Brian."

He smiled before he pulled me closer for another kiss.

"Missy, I gots a question," Brian said as he pulled into Zacky's driveway. I looked at him and he just asked, "Will you be my girlfriend."

I smiled formed on my lips as I nodded. This better not be a fucking dream. He gave me another one of his killer smiles before he gave me a soft kiss. I smiled as he pulled away and I got out. He watched me as I walked to the front door before he pulled out.

Zacky was sitting on the couch, the tv. on, looking at me as I entered. I could see a smirk on his lips.

"Syn as you to be his girlfriend?"

I nodded, blushing. He smiled and said, "I figured as much. He never spends this much time planning a date for a girl. But I won't throw a fit as long as you're happy."

"Thanks, Zacky," I said as I walked to my room, smiling.
