You're Joking Right?!

I held Adalyn's hand as we walked out of the castle

"How come it looks so dark?" She asked

I smiled her human eyes couldnt even focus on how bright it was

"Well you see some of the creatures don't handle brightness well. Which is why we came into the underworld it's dark and we all are use to it. But with your human eyes you can't tell how bright it actually is" I said

She pulled her hand from mine and crossed her arms

"You make is seem like im so below you cause im a human. I hate the way it sounds from you demons" She said in a disgusted tone

I laughed and pulled her to a stop in front of me

"Down here babe you are below every single creature. Anyone of the creatures around us could snap your neck before you could even scream. Sorry if you don't like the tone but you are food to almost everyone" I said warning her

She was looking up at me trying to think of somthing to say. I could hear each thought

"What do you mean almost everyone? Wouldnt it be everyone. I have seen your face when my heart starts beating fast. I know there are proably tons of them down here drooling over the sound of it now" She said softly

I heard someone coming up to us on the sidewalk. I grabbed Adalyn and put my face in her neck

"Don't think" I said softly

She was trying to push me away and attempt to make her voice sound threating. I covered her mouth and the creature passed by

"Good girl" I said standing back up fixing her shirt

She smiled and bowed to me

"Back to what you were saying. Your my mate I couldn't eat you no matter how hard I tried and also as my mate I wouldn't let anyone come close enough to even breathe in the same space as you. Anyone tries it I would kill them where they stood" I said looking over my shoulder at someone watching us

She was holding her breath for a moment then she smiled

"Oh my gosh you care" She said sarcastically

I rolled my eyes and pulled her into a near by shop. She gasped when we walked in

"Cheese and crakers this is heaven" She said touching her chest

We were in a clothing shop I had been in here so many times nothing shocking

"Well since you are my wife to be and I will have to eventually change you. New wardrobe" I said making her eyes light up

She jumped up and hugged me. That shock went through us again and she got back to her feet

"Is that another mate thing?" She asked rubbing her arm

I nodded and sat down in a loveseat nearby. She ran toward a rack and looked through everything. A few of the workers in the shop were whispering about Adalyn it was making me angry. I stood up walked over to her and kissed her softly. She was in shock for a moment then she tangled her hands in my hair. I was meaning to pull away but I couldn't I was glued to her. She pulled away to catch her breath

"What was that for?" She asked breathlessly

I backed away and shrugged. I went back over to the couch and watched her think for a moment then she went back to looking at clothes. The workers in the shop looked disgusted and in shock

"Excuse me you are aware I can hear you. She may be ignoring you but I won't" I snapped at the females

One of them was very pale and had long blood red hair. She was a vampire they are known for showing envy and anger

"Sorry my prince we are just shocked to see you with a human" The woman said looking down at Adalyn

Adalyn blushed dark red and came over to sit next to me. She was looking down at her hands I could hear her thoughts they were making her feel bad about herself. I stood up and moved fast in front of the vampire grabbing the front of her shirt

"You listen well you cold, pale, slut. I will not stand for you insulting my wife" I growled in her face

Her back eyes widened and she looked back at Adalyn

"You pick a spineless, blood bag instead of someone your on species. No offence my prince but you need to up your standards" She growled

I let go of her shirt and watched her snap her jaws at Adalyn. I grabbed her cheeks and turned her toward me

"Im offended" I said licking my teeth

Her eyes shifted and she shook with fear. I looked into her eyes and thought of fire. I let go when her screams began and the guards ran in to stand around Adalyn. The other worker was shaking in fear

"Landon" I heard my name softly

I turned and walked back in front of Adalyn. I bowed my head

"Im sorry you saw that. But she made me so angry" I said softly

Adalyn stood up and hugged me tightly. I patted her head and waved the guards off

"Thanks guys" I said as they left

I took Adalyn's hand and pulled her out of the shop. We walked up a few blocks and we went into a nearby restaurant

"Prince Vichel hello" A small man greeted me

I nodded and he sat us over in a booth. Adalyn looked around the place in amazement

"So you said you have to change me. What's that mean?" She asked

I smiled and moved some hair from my face

"Means I have to change you into a demon" I said drinking a cup of blood on the table

I saw her shiver at the sight of the blood

"And why is everyone calling you a prince?" She asked

The waitor came back over and handed me a menu and was about to give Adalyn on but I stopped him. He was looking down at her trying to figure what she was. He had white hair and ice blue eyes he left after a few moments of staring

"Why can't I see a menu?" She asked

I shook my head

"Unless you have become a flesh eater or a blood drinker. You don't want to see it" I said

She smiled and shook her head

"Answer my question" She said softly

I smiled and shook my head

"Why else would people call me a prince?" I asked

She rolled her eyes andsat back in the booth with her arms crossed

"My father wants to retire early and raise my baby sister with my mother. Which is why we went to the oracale so I could find you" I said playing with the flowers on the table

She nodded

"Well what if I don't want to marry you" She asked

The flower died between my finger after she said that. I moved back in the booth

"You have no choice it's fate" I said

She leaned forward and put her face between her hands

"No what if I die? Then what happens to you?" She asked

I laughed. I played with the flower again and it came back to life

"Then I will die" I said softly

She laughed and shook her head

"Yes dear. Somthing happens to you it happens to me there are stories about me and you. We are rare kinds of mates nothing like us has been seen since before my father took over and he is pretty old" I said jokingly

She seemed interested so I popped some food infront of her. A burger and fries

"Well mates are diffrent you find them and have a strange pull to them. You may fight and say you hate each other but you always go crawling back to each other. But you and I the bond is much stronger you feel my pain I feel yours yada yada. The stories about us are vauge and simple but there is somthing very bad that is going to happen to you we just dont know what or when" I said watching her eat

She coughed at the last part. I popped her some water and she drank it down

"Why me? How come in every story it's the female" She said throwing my hands up

I laughed at her

"Females always get the short end of the stick" I said shrugging
