Lisa Seward was nineteen when she ran away, disappearing without a trace, nor a word to anybody. The news of Jimmy's tragic death brought her back, but she had no intentions of staying until a run-in at the cemetery. Can she face her brother, her family, and her friends? Or will the repressed memory of what drove her away come back to haunt her? Avenged Sevenfold will never be the same without Jimmy, but they aren't ready to give up everything just yet. Will they find a new drummer?

    I scrolled through the numbers in my phone until I found the one I was looking for. I figured if I needed any guidance, this person would be the one to help me out.

    Somehow, my mind was telling me that I would end up going back eventually. I owed it to myself to get to the bottom of everything.

    I was caught by surprise, as well as Amy and Karlee who stood next to me with their jaws dropped.

    I casually walked up to the three of them, hearing Matt asking Johnny where he had been and why he had a truck.

    She was shocked, and also angry. “If I called the guys to come over here, would you tell them?”

    Even if he was my best friend, my family came first, more importantly, my little sister.

    The song ended and I sat behind the drum kit crying. I jumped when a hand touched my back.

    Different than what I was used to. I had never seen those chocolate brown eyes look so sincere towards me. Ever.

    With Valentine's Day approaching, I was actually a little nervous, because I knew that someone was going to try and take me out.

    I rolled my eyes as I set the bag on his table, taking a seat and dropping my backpack next to me. “You never fail to amuse me, Zachary Baker.”

    Saturday came around, and I had to confirm the plans with Brian. Before doing so, I took a ride to the cemetery, alone.

    I headed down the hall towards the front but stopped when I heard them talking. Out of their sight, I stood around the corner to eavesdrop

    As soon as his eyes met mine, I grabbed his shirt collar, pulling on it as I leaned in and crashed my lips to his.

    “I wanna protect you, but there’s more to it. Lisa, I can’t try to hide and deny it anymore that I really am in love with you. I have been for so long, and you deserve someone who wouldn’t hurt you, ever.”
  18. Meeting On The Boardwalk
    While trying to fall asleep, I was thinking of ways I could break the news to Zack. I wanted it to be perfect, but how to pull it off?
  19. What To Say?
    The smile remained on my face as I walked outside and towards my car. As I came close, I noticed the silhouette of someone leaning against my driver side door.
  20. Conflict
    He wasn’t taking no for an answer, so I pressed the call button and left the phone in my pocket, hoping Zack would answer and overhear the threats.
  21. Disappearance
    Silence hit me, and as I was about to call for him, I noticed the paper on the table right inside his door. It was a note.

    “I just wish I could show everyone how guilty I really feel. Sometimes I feel like I don’t even deserve to be around here anymore.”

    “I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do,” he said. “Which means you shouldn’t have to feel obligated to go along, and to let me know if I do something that you don’t want.”

    I blinked for a moment, knowing I shared the same reaction as the twin sisters as we looked at her.
  25. Jumpy
    “Because I already know some of the things that make you weak…” he paused again, leaning down to kiss my neck.
  26. Beach Day
    He turned away. “I'll be honest, it does hurt a little seeing you and him together, but I'm glad that you two are happy.”
  27. Bad News
    “***.” I leaned over to rest my head in my free hand. “Is she still in a coma?”
  28. Chicago
    I found a video that was recorded just a few days ago, most likely the other night when I was with my brother as I remembered leaving the device at Zack's place.
  29. Wake Up
    Somehow, I thought of the flashback I had a few days ago that Amy brought up, and remembered seeing the blonde next to Zack. “Can I ask you something kinda weird?”
  30. Surprises
    “Well, hello there, beautiful,” he said huskily, stepping to the bed. His eyes remained focused on what I was wearing.
  31. Visitors
    I turned to see both of my friends staring at the drum kit. "It's really his, isn't it?" Karlee asked quietly.
  32. Career Choices
    “I'm just so scared to go all the way. I'm afraid it's gonna hurt,” I laughed in embarrassment.
  33. Gut Feelings
    “Don't take this the wrong way, but umm...There's been someone I've seen around town a few times and I think you should know, just in case.”
  34. If Looks Could Kill
    I was starting to get upset with my boyfriend, and sent him a text message saying that we needed to talk.
  35. Job
    I almost fell off the stool until he caught me under the arms. “Perhaps you shouldn't play pranks on me when I know your weaknesses, little sis.”
  36. Advertising
    He turned towards me with his face just inches from mine. “You have a problem with it?” I asked, brushing my lips against his.
  37. Labor
    In the room, Leana was laying in the bed, looking exhausted with a few strands of hair matted to the sides of her face with sweat.
  38. Rehearsing
    I blinked at him, trying to absorb what he was telling me. I then began looking around. “Am I being Punk'd or something? Candid camera? Are you actually serious right now?”
  39. Surreal.
    I could see on each of their faces how much they were hurting, and even underneath Matt's sunglasses I could've sworn I saw a few tears falling down his cheeks.
  40. Fears Conquered
    “You know? You already have me wondering if I tainted your innocence,” he whispered.
  41. Uproar
    I was angry and upset with myself as I pretty much sprinted off the stage before tears began flowing.
  42. Playing Home
    Within a few seconds I had shifted and ended up straddling his lap. “So I'm not tired anymore,”
  43. Pushing Buttons
    I was trying to calm the cranky feelings that were lingering, but I just had a feeling that something was going to push that button.
  44. I'm An Asshole
    Johnny laughed. “No thanks. I'm gonna go grocery shopping, you can come when you're done with your oatmeal surprise.”

    “There's just something different about you,” Leana said to me...

    I could easily admit that this kid could quite possibly be the next closest friend I've had since I had Jimmy.

    “***,” I murmured. “I was in the biggest state of denial I ever heard of.”

    I almost couldn't talk when he had finished, but instead just made a sound that I couldn't even explain.

    “Baby, you're pregnant, you're not fat,” Zack murmured...
