A Rock Prince with a Vengeance

The Sharpie

*Briony's POV*

"Hey Bri, do you want to go on the sky chair* and spend some alone time?" Zacky asked me.

"I'd love to, but what about Brian?"

"Don't worry, I talked to him. He's cool about it," he said. "Shall we?" He link his arm around mine and lead me to the line. Since we were the only ones in line, we had instant access to the ride.

"Oh my gosh, Zacky. I've never seen the city this bright before. I've only seen something like this in photographs. This is too beautiful," I stared down in amazement as Zacky sneaked his hand around my waist.

"Can I ask you something?" he asked with some nervousness in his voice.

"Sure thing."

"I really, really like you, and you're a really cool chick, and I was wondering if-" I cut him off.

"Yes," I replied. I already knew what he was going to say. I've had this speech given to me plenty of times in my life.

"Hey, I didn't get to finish yet," he pouted.

"You were about to stutter and make yourself look like an ass. I'm just saving you the embarrassment, new boyfriend." I smiled playfully.

After that, we just stared at each other in a romantic way. Gosh, I never realized how green his eyes were. They're simply just to die for.

Like in the movies, Zacky leaned in and kissed me. It wasn't the simple ones like at Applebees. No, this one actually meant something. It was passionate, and lasted more than five seconds. His lips were so soft. I couldn't help but to crave for more.

"Wow," I said. It was the only world I could make out at the moment.

"I'm glad I found you, and now you're all mine," he said as he brought me into his arms.

This was one of my fairy tale moments I've been dreaming of. This is the moment I've wanted all my life. I just never expect it to be with an actual prince.

"You two. You have to get off now," the worker said as we got off.

"Obviously, someone as a mile high stick up their ass," I randomly commented.

"You took the words right out of my mouth. Do you want to head out to the bar and meet up with Brian there?"

"I can we can, but you know that I don't drink."

"Please, just one? I promise to stop you after one drink." What would one drink do to me anyway?

"Fine," my teeth chattered together. It was becoming really chilly.

"Here you go." He gave me his jacket, even though I refused to take it from him. However, it made me very warm and it had Zacky's cologne scent, which smelled like Axe. Good choice, Zacky.

"Hey, hey, hey, hiccup," Brian hiccuped, "you two are cuddlin' and she's wearing his sweatshirt. Does this mean what I think it means? Is it official?"

"It's official," Zacky said.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Brian announced as he stood up on the bar table, "I would like to make a toast to my best friend, Zacky, for finally growing the balls to ask out Briony, his new girlfriend. Cheers!"

"Cheers!" The whole bar raised their glasses.

"Oh and since I'm feeling really generous tonight, there's a round on me for everybody," he yelled while receiving cheers from everybody.

"Hey man, you didn't have to do this for me," Zacky said as Brian handed us each a beer.

"Don't worry about it." Brian began to wobble a little bit.

"Dude, you need to sit down." Zacky tried to get him to sit down, but refused.

"I'm alr-." Bam, he passed out right in front of us. I couldn't help but to be horrified.

"So what are we going to do about Brian?" he asked.

I gave him the most surprised look ever. "Did you seriously just ask that? You just can't leave your best friend passed out on the ground at the bar!"

"But we've done that with Johnny before. He came back to the castle in one piece."

I couldn't' help but laugh a little. "If you weren't so damn adorable, I would so slap you right now. Now help me get him to the car," I said as I tried to carry Brian's legs, but he was too damn heavy.

"Zacky, I can't do this by myself."

"Okay first, that's what she said. Second, you can tell him to lose weight. Third, I'll carry him," Zacky said as he began to limp while carrying Brian bridal style.

"I'm sorry. I would help, but I can't carry him," I apologized in the car.

While we began driving around back to my apartment, I noticed a sharpie by my feet.

"Zacky, is Brian a heavy sleeper?"

"Yes when he's passed out. No when he's actually sleeping. I don't get it either. Why do you ask?"

"I spy a sharpie and I was wondering if we could have a little fun."

"Devious. I like that. I'll pull over," he said as he pulled into the nearest abandoned parking lot.

We both moved to the backseat and sat on both sides of Brian.

"So what should we draw?" he asked.

I began to doodle on Brian's face. I decided to draw stars and stick figures. I'd pretend that they were astronauts. I've had this weird obsession with astronauts and space ever since I've been listening to Something Corporate. I'm an odd person like that. I drew two people: Zacky and I, and I put a heart between them. After drawing outer space, I signed my name in cursive.

"Why'd you sign your name? You're leaving behind evidence," he silently screamed.

"I don't know. Just for fun," I giggled.

"Okay, enough missy. You need to get to work tomorrow," he said as we climbed up back in front and began to drive me home, which wasn't too far away.

Once we pulled up in front of the apartment complex, I noticed that my living room light was on. I bet it was Jenny taking care of Zero for me.

"I had fun tonight," I mentioned.

"I did too," he quickly kissed me. "Here's my number, just in case Brian tries to brutally murder me once he wakes up."

"Okay," I laughed, "well, goodnight." I got out of the car and proceeded to walk to my apartment. When I got to the door, something wasn't right. Usually, Zero barks like crazy when he sees anyone, including me, near the door. Tonight, it was dead silent.

When I opened the door, all the furniture that I bought was gone and my clothes and accessories were scattered around the floor. Also, Zero was still no where in sight. While trying to look around for my dog, I found a note on the ground.

Dear Miss McCarthy,

Our apartment complex has warned you the past couple of months that you need to pay ten (10) months worth of bills or you'd be removed by August 21st, 2010. All of your furniture is placed at the local ULOCKS building.

Yours truly,

Brent Anderson
owner.

I was royally fucked. I was homeless once again, all my shit was everywhere, and my dog is missing. I kept searching my old apartment, but he was still no where in sight.

I began doing something that I hate doing, especially in front of people, cry. I feel like a failure. I feel like a complete failure. Ever since my parents died, I knew my life was going down the toilet, and here I am, at my lowest point in life.

I found a duffel bag in my closet, packed some of the clothes I had left and walked out on the house. I sat down on the front lawn in front of the apartment complex and headed to my 1954 Mustang. I bet I have enough money to stay at a motel for a couple nights. I tried to get my car up and running, but I realized that I didn't have any gas.

Now, I had no other choice but to call people to see if they'd take me in, but I highly doubt it since it's 2:30 in the morning. I decided to give it a try, so i took out my phone and began searching through my contacts to see who I could call in my time of need. I didn't have very many options. I can call my co-workers, but it would be awkward to crash at their places because I don't know them very well. I could call Jenny's parents, but I'm on bad terms with them and have been since I was about 16. Next in my phone book was Kyle, my ex-boyfriend. I don't even know why I still have this number. He's the last person that would ever help me.

I had two options left: Jenny and Zacky. My first instinct was to call Jenny because I've known her longer, and she'd take me in a heartbeat. I dialed her number, but she never answered. Her phone is usually off or dead. My only option was Zacky. The only question was, would he take me in? I dialed his number and he picked up after two rings.

"Hello, who's this?" he yawned. I bet I just woke him up.

"Briony. Can you pick me up?" I cried into the speaker.

"What's the matter? Are you crying?"

"I got kicked out of my apartment. I'm homeless, my dog is missing, my car won't start, and my best friend won't pick up her phone."

"Don't worry. I'll pick you up. I'll be there in ten minutes. Don't go anywhere." Where would I go? Dumb ass.

Ten minutes past, and he was there, just like he promised. I ran out to him and he welcomed me into his arms. I began to cry again and buried my face into his chest.

"Come here. I'll take you to my house," he whispered into my ear and walked me to his car. "So the fuckin' apartment dude took all your shit without notice and kicked you out?" He began to drive off.

"They've sent me a couple of notices in the past. God, I'm so fuckin' stupid. I should of just paid them the money every month like a responsible adult." I began to cry even harder.

"I'm sorry this happened to you."

"I'm sorry too. Thanks for taking me in. How long could I stay for?"

"Briony, I'd do anything for you. I know we just met and officially began dating, but I'd do anything for you, if you were mine or not. You're welcome to stay as long as you like."

"Are you sure? I don't want to be intruding or anything."

"Trust me, you won't." He pulled into the driveway.

We walked into the house, and it was pitch black. He guided me through several different hallways and staircases until we stopped in front of this one particular room.

"Here, take my room for the night. I can take the couch," he offered.

"Thank you so much Zacky. I don't know what I'd do without you."

"The pleasure is all mine. See you tomorrow," he said as he kissed me on the cheek and left me be.

I walked into the room and I couldn't make out anything because I couldn't see anything. After running into somethings, I finally made it to the bed. I climbed in and made myself comfortable in the covers. It took me less than five minutes to fall asleep. I needed to forget all the things that just happened.

Holy fuck! I'm sorry for the long wait. I promised myself I'd update on Monday, but I never really got to that. I lacked motivation all week. I also didn't like this chapter very much. I edited it alot, but to me it doesn't seem good enough. Oh well.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed and stuff.

Btw, I have a new story up. It's called That 60s Story. It's an original fiction, love story based in the 60s. If you're interested, please check it out.
