“Okay honey, smile for me.”

Danielle stared over at the little blonde boy sitting on the bike in front of her. The boy smiled for Danielle with the biggest smile he could muster. Danielle could hear the parent’s yells out in excitement as they looked at their son. Danielle stood behind the big camera before clicking down taking the pictures with a smile on her face as she continued to talk to the little boy.

“Well aren’t you handsome”, Danielle said with a smile as she leaned down to the little boy’s side. “You did really great Luke, here you go”, she said handing him a lollipop.

Luke grabbed the candy in excitement as he let out a squeal. Danielle watched as he jumped up and down with the biggest grin on his face. Danielle took it upon herself to take pictures with her camera that was just lying on the side. This moment was just too precious to not be captured.

“Will you be my girlfriend?”

Danielle looked down at the little boy as she let out a loud awwh before nodding her head with a smile. She was grabbed into a tight hug by the little boy before running off to him parents. Danielle couldn’t help but to smile, the boy was adorable.

“Quite frankly I’m pretty fucking jealous right now”, Danielle heard a raspy voice say from behind her.

Danielle turned around startled by the voice, but when she saw John her heart went up a speed. She gave him the look over, licking her lips in the process. John looked good, scratch that John looked hot. Danielle’s mouth watered at the sight. John stood there in tight jeans with a tight fitted plaid shirt that showed off his tattoos that Danielle was in love with, especially on John.

“Luke has my heart right now”, she said looking over in the little boys direction. “In a few more years I’m going to be one lucky girl, but he’s worth the wait.”

John let out a laugh before tugging at the beanie on top of his head. “Wonder if I kick the kids ass, his Father would kill me?”

The two looked over at the big buff man holding his sons, the tattoos all over his huge arms was enough to give the two a scary thought in their head. Danielle let out a laugh before turning her attention to John.

“I think you could take him.”

John couldn’t help but to laugh. That guy would kill John with no effort at all. John wasn’t a fighter, he was a lover. Even when he was younger, when the little boys were off wrestling around John was with the girls wooing them even at such a young age.

“So what are you doing here?”

“Just in the neighborhood?”

“I’m sure”, she said with a laugh. “Where you shopping at the maternity store across the street”, she said pointing in the direction. “Or the Babies R Us?”

“For your information I was at the Honey Baked Ham store”, he said pointing at the store that was next door to them.

“In the mood for ham?”

“Well duh”, he said with a laugh. “About to fuck me up one of those big ass hams, you know how I do?”

Danielle couldn’t help but to laugh as she crossed her arms around her chest. John thought that simply movement was adorable. John loved these moments with Danielle. He loved their bantering, most girls couldn’t hold their own against John’s smart mouth but even Danielle gave him a run for his money.

“So tonight you’re coming with me to Travis’ party.”

“Nah, I don’t think so”, Danielle said shaking her head with a stern look on her face.

John couldn’t help but to smirk, here was that chase he loved so much. “Yes, yes you are.”

“Nah.”

“And why not?”

“Busy”, she said simply, knowing that this was going to kill John.

“Doing what?”

“Things.”

“Such as?”

John was getting annoyed; he wanted to know what she had going on that was more important than hanging out with him. He was having horrible thoughts in his head, thoughts about Danielle with other guys. He was spending his time thinking about what might be going on that he didn’t notice the small break in his heart at the thought of Danielle and another guy.

“I got stuff to do.”

Danielle was messing with him and she loved it. “Do you have a date?”

John placed his hands on his waist waiting for the answer but Danielle just fucked with him longer. Stringing along his beating heart across his face like some sick game.

“Maybe”, she said with a smirk. “Luke did ask me out to be his girlfriend, I was thinking about taking him to Chuckie Cheese and then possibly go and see that new Disney movie in the theaters”, she said with a smirk as John smiled at the girl, feelings better with ever word he had coming. “Then if he’s really lucky”, she said with a suggestive wink. “I’ll let him sleep past 8 o’clock.”

“Sounds like a wild night.”

“My thoughts exactly.”

John couldn’t help but to laugh before he messed with the beanie on his head. “So I’ll pick you up at 8?”

“I can’t go John”, she said as John threw his head back in annoyance.

“I know for a fact that you’re not seriously going on a date with that little boy”, he said as Danielle stone face didn’t change one second. “And if you are, I should possibly go to the cops about your child molesting ass.”

Danielle couldn’t help but to laugh, John was adorable. She watched as he stared at her intensely waiting for the real reason.

“No need to involve the police, age is just a number”, she said before turning to John. “You should know creeper.”

“Danny.”

“John.”

“Why the fuck can’t you come with me?”

“Language”, she said looking back at the kids behind her. “And because once I get out of here I have an over night shift at the dinner, so I cant go.”

“Oh.”

“Not the answer you were expecting?”

“Nah”, he said honestly before giving her a smile. “But that was the answer I was hoping for.”

Danielle couldn’t help but to smile as John got closer to her, Danielle’s skin was sent in flames once she felt his touch. She looked up and into those beautiful eyes.

“And why is that?”

John simply grabbed her lower back pulling her body into his before pressing his lips against his. That simple kiss made her knees weak and her stomach go in a craze. She could feel the baby kangaroo’s bouncing away in her stomach. When John pulled away from her lips, she couldn’t help but to feel her cheeks go red.

“Because”, he said simply pressing his lips against hers softly and then pulling away. “You’re mine.”

John pressed his lips against hers once more and he felt something in that kiss, something he has never felt before. He pushed her body away from hers, dropping her body and taking a step back. Danielle was thrown off by the sudden movement but didn’t show it on her face. John suddenly started to feel very nervous.

“Well I’ll let you go back to work”, John said backing away. “You’re going to Peter’s birthday party, right?”

“Yeah.”

Danielle stood there confused as to why John was rushing away from her. She wondered if she had done something, maybe the teasing was too much.

John was backing away slowly trying his hardest to get away from her, why the fuck did he start this? Why the fuck did John start having sex with a girl like Danielle? Why did Danielle have to be someone he never thought she was going to be?

“See you tomorrow.”

“Uh yeah”, Danielle said as John was already out the door. “See you tomorrow.”

He waved his hand before rushing to his car, confusing thoughts going on and on in his head. He had been thinking about Danielle a lot lately but coming to her work was a mistake. John knew he was having feelings Danielle, so he just called Danielle whenever he wanted sex. Alcohol made John less like John and he was starting to like it when he was around Danielle. John wanted to rush back in there and kiss Danielle, be with Danielle. He wanted to be that little kid and ask Danielle to be his, to be his girlfriend. But Danielle deserved more than what John could offer and a relationship with Danielle would destroy more than just their friendships, but them themselves.

“What the fuck!”

John slammed his hands on his steering wheel, John didn’t think about things like this. Thoughts like this were made by pussies, pussies like his friends that all had girlfriends. This was something Jared would do; Jared was the guy with the girlfriends. He was the boyfriend man, something John thought he would never want to be. John wanted to be the boyfriend, something he swore wouldn’t happen any time soon. So John did the only thing he could think of that would stop these thoughts.

Much like Danielle and Garrett, the idea of wanting to change who they were for people they cared about was the biggest mistake anyone of them could do.
