It's Never Gonna Be Too Late.

I Think He's Catching On.

I watched Frank take Ashe to the car.
I didn't know she had it in her.
Gerard continued to watch as she and Frank drove away.
He walked back to his table, set down a few bills and change, and left the diner.
Also getting into his car, he drove off.
God knows where he'll end up.
Ray had already gone, leaving Bob, Mikey, and I in the almost vacant parking lot.
"That was so .. random," I mumbled.
Bob heard me, "Yeah, I know."
I breathed the warm summer air, taking in as much as I could.
Awkwardly, I took a little too much in, causing me to cough.
Neither Bob nor Mikey noticed, they just stared at each other.
Bob looked my way and put an arm around my waist, pulling me close.
"I think we're going to head home," Bob told Mikey.
"Alright. Good seeing you. Bye, Bob."
Bob and I started walking and Mikey paused.
"Bye, Alex.."
I caught his eye.
I turned my head to still watch him as Bob and I walked to the car.
Abashed, I looked back forward.
I didn't want to look at Bob and see his drilling eyes scream at me.
We got into our car and drove home, not saying a single word during the drive.
I unlocked the apartment door and walked inside.
I placed my purse on the small table in the kitchen and headed for the bedroom, Bob following.
"Honey, can we talk for a minute?"
"Sure. What about?"
"You've been acting kind of strange around myself and Mikey. Is there something going on?"
"Between me and Mikey? Oh, please. Of course not."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm one hundred percent positive. You're the only one I want," I flashed a smile.
He came towards me and hugged me.
"I love you," he whispered in my ear.
"I love you, too," I whispered back.
At least, I think I do.
