It's Never Gonna Be Too Late.

I Can See Right Through Your Beautiful Lies.

Alex's POV.
I awoke in Bob's arms, my headache now worsening.
He was sound asleep as he rested his head on my shoulder blade.
I slowly slid from his grip and hit my feet on the floor.
I stood up and stretched, looking around.
Everyone was still asleep.
I crept to the bathroom, where I stared at myself in the mirror.
It was the first time I had looked at myself since I had gotten ready the night before.
My lip looked terrible.
I washed off the dried blood from the minor cuts and then cleaned my knees.
My pants were ripped pretty badly.
As I was washing up, my mind replayed a short conversation between Bob and Mikey that I had heard as I was falling asleep.
"Mikey, why'd you do that? You told me a while ago you were over her. I don't know what to believe anymore."
"But I am over her, Bob. You can believe that."
Mikey's voice sounded unsure of himself.
I didn't believe him.
They kept going back and forth all night long.
I took a Tylenol before heading back for Bob's bunk.
When I silently closed the bathroom door behind me, I saw Mikey sitting in a spare chair, looking out at the moving road beside us.
He caught my eye.
"Hi, Mikey," I said quietly, almost as a whisper.
"Hey, Cami, how are you doing?"
"Not so good. I still have a headache, so I took a Tylenol."
"Sorry for everything that happened last night. Like, with Bob and I fighting, and stuff."
"Don't worry about it. I'm the one who should be sorry. Bob shouldn't have acted like a jerk."
"Don't be. I just want to make sure you're okay."
"I'm as okay as I can be. Thanks, Mikey. I really mean it," I told him, moving for a hug.
He wrapped his arms around my shoulders tightly and I rested my chin on his shoulder.
When we parted, he continued to look at me.
I couldn't stand his eyes looking at me.
They were just, so, ugh.
I had to blink and look away.
There was a shuffling of sheets coming from Bob's bunk.
"I should probably go back to sleep, or something," I said to Mikey, heading for the bunks.
"Yeah," his voice sounded disappointed.
He sat back in the chair and proceeded with watching the passing by road .
I sat back on Bob's bunk and put my hand to his head.
I lightly stroked it, thinking of how we were going home for a month's rest.
I stopped and rested my hand on the sheets.
I looked up and saw Mikey staring at me.
I began to blush.
What was happening?
