It's Never Gonna Be Too Late.

The Last Goodbye Of Smile And Bone

Alex's POV.

As soon as Bob started to form words to break the awkward silence between us, Gerard walked through the bus door.
He went to his bunk and took off his jacket, not showing any emotion.
Then Ashe walked in with Frank. I couldn't help but stare at her, and neither could Gerard.
She rolled her eyes and layed down in her bunk, clutching her stomach. I couldn't help but smirk and look at my feet.
My eyes caught Mikey's as he and Ray headed for the back of the bus.
Ray sat next down to Gerard and started talking to him.
Mikey came to my side and glided us towards the couch. He lightly kissed my cheek.
I fidgeted and slowly pulled away. He gave me a look of "What's wrong?".
"Can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked.
He nodded and I dragged him into the bathroom. The bus was in motion, so we couldn't go outside.
I locked the door and sat on the sink as he leaned against the wall.
"Mikey, I don't think that.." I paused. I didn't want it to come to this.
I cleared my throat. "I don't think that us being together is the best thing, especially with you being on tour and the fact that Bob is here also. I feel like I've been the cause of way too many problems between the three of us and it can't stay like this. It's best if-" He cut me off.
"But why?" he questioned.
"Please don't talk until I'm done." He remained quiet.
"As I was saying, I think it's best if we're not together. Whether you like it or not, whether anybody likes it or not, it's what I think should happen. I'll be going back home once the New Jersey show comes and then you won't have to worry about me anymore. Where's my home now? I don't know, but I'll find some place. I won't cause anymore problems and I'll be gone for good." I sighed relieved and tried not to look at him.
He was in complete shock. I don't think he expected myself to do something like what I just did.
I leapt off the sink counter and reached for the door knob. Mikey grabbed my arm before I could get a hold of it.
"Wait for just another minute. Is this really what you want?"
I thought and my words came out quicker than I finished thinking.
I nodded and said, "Yeah, I think so." He began to frown.
He leaned and kissed me on the cheek for the last time before letting me go.
I shut my eyes, not wanting to face anyone when I headed for the couch without Mikey.
When I sat down and closed my eyes, I felt Bob's presence.
My eyes remained closed, but opened once Ashe began speaking.
She stood in a spot where everyone could see and hear her.
"Um, I have something to say to all of you."
What could she want now?
