Chapter 18

Analeigh’s POV

I smiled as I picked up the phone when I got in through the front door,
“hello?” I answered, I heard a shaky breath on the other side before a voice came on
“Ana?” I heard them say, I frowned as I tried to work out who it was
“hello? Who is this?” I asked, the person cleared their throat before talking again
“Ana it’s Leah” I frowned hearing the trembling tone in her voice and grew immediately concerned
“what’s the matter Leah?” I asked, she gave a shaky sigh again before answering
“I need you to come to my house no, can you do that for me?” she asked, I nodded though she couldn’t see
“of course, I’ll be there in a couple of minutes” I then hung up and went to go and pull my shoes on before heading out the door and down the road.

Arriving at Leah’s house I walked right through the door not bothering to knock and came to the sitting room to find Leah huddled into a ball on the sofa with tears rolling down her face thick and fast.

I rushed towards her and dropped to the floor by her side, my hand reaching out to stroke her hair as I looked at her with concern
“Leah? What the hell is the matter?!” I asked frantic, Leah looked at me and sobbed
“I can’t do it any more Ana” she forced out between sobs, I frowned
“what do you mean?” I asked, frowning. Leah let out a sob again before sitting up and hugging her knees to her chest. I moved to the sofa beside her and wrapped an arm around her letting her head fall to my shoulder
“I can’t be a werewolf any more”
“why?” I asked, she looked at her knees and answered shakily
“I don’t get a period any more, did you know that, it means that I can’t have kids, I would love to have kids you know that, I always planned to have kids one day but now with this I can’t.” She took a deep breath and looked up at me with a wry smile “I actually mark on the calendar when my period should be, sad right” she let out another sob and I hugged her to me tighter
“it’s not sad honey, it’s natural, I would guess with your new senses and things your hormones would be higher so it affects you more, what brought this on?” I asked.

Leah looked at me again
“I saw this pregnant girl while I was on patrol, she was glowing and happy and I knew I wanted that one day but she had it instead” she let a fat tear roll down her cheek and I wiped it off with my sleeve
“Leah, I don’t see why you can’t quit, the pack is big, I’m sure they aren’t desperate for members, why don’t you bring it up with Sam?” I asked, Leah sighed
“I don’t want to seem like I can’t handle it, I’m the only girl and I’ve had to fight to prove myself all the time, if I quit because I want kids it will seem weak” she explained, I chuckled
“Leah it isn’t a weakness, it’s natural and I’m sure Sam will understand, if not your cousin will knock some sense into him quickly” I told her and she gave a small chuckle of her own and nodded
“yeah she probably would” she sighed then looked at me with a trembling smile “I’ve been silly haven’t I getting this upset?” I shrugged
“I figure all those feelings have been bottled up for a while, they needed to come out” Leah laughed nodding before she gave me a grin and wiped her face with her sleeve
“well enough about me, I hear Paul is taking you on another date” I laughed
“does everyone know? Wait I know the telepathy thing, if you can read his mind can you give me a hint as to what the date is?” I asked curiously, Leah laughed and shook her head
“ahh no, he actually seems to be hiding it from us, probably because he knows I would tell you or one of the guys would for the hell of it” I giggled and nodded before I looked towards the kitchen
“well now you’ve stopped crying, do you have ice cream?” Leah looked at me amused
“you’re pulling out the cure all are you?” I laughed and nodded before getting up and heading into the kitchen to grab the ice cream from the freezer.

I Know It Seemed Kind Of Fillerish But I Wanted To Show A Caring Side To Leah Rather Than The Horrid Hating Side She Is Usually Showing In Stories
