Forever and Always

Paul’s POV

It was a routine patrol, just Embry and I running along the border between us and the Cullen’s when Embry suddenly went alert
“what is it?” I asked him
“I smell leeches, not the Cullens, it’s more like those royal prissy one’s that visited last year” I growled
“what in the hell are they doing here?” I thought and Embry mentally shrugged
“I don’t know but we had better inform Sam” I nodded and told him
“you do it, I’ll keep an eye out for them in case they’re around” Embry confirmed before I felt him leave my mind and knew he shifted back to human.

I growled lowly and loped off in search of the scent that Embry caught, when I found it I followed it to the border but it seemed to zigzag along it which meant they had been coming over to our side as well while they apparently spied on them. I narrowed my eyes and followed the trail, hoping to find where exactly they had been looking.

I had my nose to the ground, as I followed one particular scent trail, when a hiss came from behind me. Flipping around, I saw the petite blonde stood there glaring at me
“mutt” she hissed, I growled at her, not being able to verbally insult her and lunged towards her but she danced out of the way grinning
“you’ll have to try harder to kill me wolf” I growled and lunged again but she stared at me then swiped at me with her nails raking a long furrow along my side, I growled again and we got into a full blown fight.

I heard the others in my head after I had let out a howl and they were racing towards me, I was momentarily distracted and apparently that was all she needed as she kicked me in the head and I flew into a tree, knocking it down.

I groggily lifted my head and tried to stand but I fell back to the ground, too weak to move
“PAUL!” Sam called in my head, I shook my head and weakly replied
“don’t tell Analeigh” before I crumpled to the ground, just as they all burst through the trees and chased after her.

Analeigh’s POV

I rushed through the door to Billy’s, asking hurriedly
“where is he?!” Billy pointed towards Paul’s door and I rushed towards it, throwing it open to find the pack huddled around the bed.

I pushed through them and gasped as I looked down at Paul, he was black and blue with a broken arm and one large knot on the temple.

Tears fell from my eyes and I knelt beside him and took his good hand in my own
“what in the hell happened?” I asked the rest of them. Looking towards Sam I saw as he sighed and ran a hand through his hair
“Embry caught a vampires scent and came to get me, Paul went after it and they got into a fight, he was distracted by us all changing and she managed to kick him in the head knocking him out” he informed me.

I gulped as I looked back down at Paul
“is he going to be ok?” I asked no one in particular but my Mom came into the room and told me
“he will be fine, these guys heal quick and it wasn’t extensive damage” I turned and glared at her
“not extensive?! He has a god damn broken arm and is unconscious, how is that not extensive?!” I nearly screamed, Mom glared at me
“don’t talk to me in that tone” I frowned and shook my head before looking back at Paul and squeezing his hand lightly before bringing it to my face and rubbing my cheek along the back of his hand.

I heard Sam mumble something to Mom before he told them all to leave so Paul could rest and so we were alone together.

I sighed before whispering to him
“you have to wake up you know, I can’t live with myself if you go into a coma or even” I hesitated but bit out “die, so you have to wake up” I bit my lip before getting to my feet and sliding onto the bed beside him.

Looking at his bruised form I sighed and more tears leaked out as I clutched his hand tighter then reached up and smoothed his hair before leaning into his chest and whispering
“you have to wake up so I can tell you I love you” I looked up but he still hadn’t woken so I bit my lip to try and hold back the tears as I closed my eyes and prayed to every god there was that he wake up.
