That Monster Inside Me

Guilt.

That feeling was returning. That need. That hunger. Those innocent brown eyes masked the sinister monster lurking beneath the surface. But he had never wanted to be this. To be a killer. He wasn't in control.

"Do it" that voice said hypnotically.

No... I can't ... I'm not you

But that burn in his heart was so overwhelming. It felt as if it was exploding. He couldn't take it anymore. He clutched his chest and crumpled to the ground breathing hard, luring.

A woman saw the man fall down and ran to him, not even hesitating. Just as she arrived, she regretted it. The man looked up, letting himself fade away, and let the monster take over.

He felt the antidote slide down his throat, the red leftovers surrounding his mouth. He felt himself return and felt in control. He looked down at the small body beneath him, and felt the guilt set in.

"I hope you drown in your guilt you monster" the voice told him.
