Missing Eternity

Part XVI: Just Breathe
pale trees
and shiny buildings
flew past my window
I sighed at the throbbing memory
forced to surface
to fast
leaving me like a diver with the bends
He memories hurt like he!!
but it was better than forgetting
to soon my stop came
I stumbled out
my steps guiding me past that familiar place
the old park
the same as when I first arrived at only six
I walked to the edge never stepping in
I did one time
a few months ago
two steps in and my fear and memories overcame me
the same as when I first arrived at only six
only instead of an escape a place of laughter
now it was the object of my terror
I ran to my house
catching the new rythem that kept me from ever being that chubby girl again

the smell of my dad's cooking filled the house
my mom burns water
she sticks her head out of the kitchen
'you're late'
she says
dirty blonde pony tail sagging
"diners in twenty minutes"
ever my mom
never very close to me
ever more introverted than dad.
"Kay'
