Missing Eternity

I've been in a guys car before
usually there is a smell
not always a bad one It's just there
a faint smell of deodorant and healthy teenager.
I know it sound weird,
but the fact that it wasn't there bugged me.

Dustin got in the driver’s seat
and looked back bemusedly at me
"You know you I grabbed my my bag and follow him around the precinct to the parking lot.
I glare at his back
making me feel like I'm the one leading him of somewhere
and not the other way around.
I know that sounds juvenile
But I'm an idiot who doesn't like feeling under someone I hate.
ANYWAY!
I was surprised when we reached his car
by the way he acted you'd think he was the richest kid in the world
but the thing was tiny
and blue
with chipped paint and rust spots.

Well at least I know he's not trying to impress me anymore,
I sit in the back seat
at least it's clean
but that's the weird thing
It has no smell at all
can sit up front right?"
I shrugged
"Hey I don't really want to be here at all, and if you try something I can scream out the window."
He cracks a smile.
Don’t let the moment go any farther
"Well you said you would tell me what was going on with you and those people."
I suddenly realize it will be very hard to interrogate someone from the back seat of a moving vehicle.
