Chapter Five: The Tearing Sound Of Love Notes
Pain.
Painful pain,
And noise,
Constant noise,
Assaulting me at my every move.
Waking up on the couch?
And a blurry recollection of...

"Gerard, are you ok?"
Anger at this person...why?

My senses eventually gathered themselves enough to regain some sort of order. I didn't remember much of what had happened the night before, but I knew, at least some, of what must have happened.
I'd drunk, again.
Gotten drunk, again.
Wasted, when I could have...
No.
Don't start that again.
Today's the Day.
The Day to sort things out.
The Day that...
My thoughts were interrupted by my spotting a letter waiting for me.
On the ground, underneath the letterbox of my front door.
I never got post anymore.
Unless...
Unless it's from Mikey...He's not missing after all, he's on holiday...He wants me to go out to meet him on a sunny beach and...
And the bubble was burst by the Or.
Or...It's from Them.
I'm needed again.
Someone important.
Someone who
deserves it.
And if it was the Or, I couldn't face that until I’d washed...
I let the water fall on my body, washing away the smell, and feel of the last few days, trying to cleanse my conscience too.
Did it work?
No.
But it would have to do.
However, when I did eventually return to the mail, there was more than one. All the more chance of being the Unless...Or two Ors?
One wasn't an Or. I could tell from the envelope itself. For one thing, it had my name on it.
"Mr G.Way." I said aloud, wondering at the cracked quality of my voice, and amazed at how official my name sounded on paper.
Unless...
And then I opened it.
Dear Gerard,
I understand I may have overstepped the mark by coming to your home, and I’m sorry.
I am writing to say i hope you are alright.
And to offer my help.
Let me help, please?
Sabrina

From work?
She was who I’d been angry with?
Must have been, only person who could have written this letter from her.
To Do List:
1- Talk to Sabrina
2- Find Mikey
3- Buy drink
And then there was the Or to think about...
But maybe both could be solved at once?
