Memoirs of an Emo Romantic

I Hate Surprises.

"No way. There is no way I'm going in there." I said, holding myself back.

"Please? I promised I'd give Zach his game back three days ago." Danny said, giving me a puppy dog look before pulling me into a hug.

"Danny," I whined, "fine. Five minutes. We walk in, give Zach his game, and walk right back out." I gave in to the gorgeous look on his face.

"Thank you, Princess!" Danny cheered, grabbing my hand and leading me into his best friend, Zach's room.

I was refusing to go in there because last time we went to a party here, I got thrown up on, sat on, and witnessed two guys go at it. Zach's got some fucked up friends.

"Danny! Corey! What's crackin'?" Zach said, holding a red plastic cup.

Bleck. Zach's room smells like a boys locker room after the football team got done running a marathon in full uniform without wearing deodorant, and stale weed. Gross.

"Nothin' man. Here's your game you left." Danny said, handing Zach Call Of Duty: Black Ops.

"Thanks dude! Wanna beer?" Zach asked, clearly stoned.

"Nah. Gotta surprise for my girl. So we gotta get going." Danny said.

I looked at Danny. Surprise? I hate surprises.

"Aight. Peace." Zach said, plopping down on the couch.

"Later." Danny replied, pulling me out the door.

"Surprise?" I asked once Zach's door was closed.

"Yes." Danny replied.

"I hate surprises." I mumbled.

"I don't care." He said, kissing my head, making me chuckle.

"Ugh. Fine." I replied, poking his side.

"I thought we had a deal. You don't tickle me, I don't tickle you." Danny whined, pinning me up against the hallway wall playfully.

"I'll make it up to you." I said, nibbling my lower lip and looking at his.

"Yes you will. By willingly coming with me so I can give you your surprise."

"Hmph." I pouted, my brows furrowing, causing Danny to laugh. "Fine. Let's go before I change my mind."

"Yay!" Danny exclaimed like a little kid, picking me up like a princess.

We got down to the parking lot and Danny set me down to open my door of his black Pontiac G6.

After a couple of minutes I asked, "Can I have a hint?" as Danny turned right off of the highway.

"It's wet." Danny smirked.

"You're pants?" I giggled.

"No. Not yet. Maybe later." He laughed his amazing laugh that makes me fall ever harder for him.

"Fine." I giggled, leaning over to kiss his cheek.

Fifteen minutes later we pulled into a long driveway surrounded by miles and miles of trees.

"Where are we?" I asked, utterly confused.

"Your surprise." Was all Danny said, squeezing my left hand that he hadn't let go of the whole ride here. Wherever 'here' was.
