We've Got It All Figured Out... For Now

I woke up and stretched my arms out. I rolled onto my side and was about to cuddle up to my Joshie but when I looked, he wasn’t there. I pouted to myself but my frown turned into a smile when he came walking out of the bathroom. I laid on my back and smiled at him.

“Hey, my little sleepyhead is awake,” Josh chuckled while coming over to the bed.

“But I’m still groggy. I’m used to cuddling up to my husband and have him give me kisses to wake me up,” I pouted.

“Kirstie, usually I’m the sleepy on and you give me kisses,” He smiled.

“But either way I get kisses,” I went on pouting.

He crawled on the bed and he was on his hands and knees. He got on top of me and hung there but I wrapped my arms around his neck and he slowly pressed his lips to mine in a yummy kiss. We were kissing for a while before we had to catch our breaths. Josh laid down next to me on his side while one of his hands ran through my hair.

“Did I ever tell you that I love your curly hair?” He questioned

“Um no I don’t think so,” I giggled.

“Well I do,” Josh smiled. “It fits you so well but curly hair is adorable, I’ve always liked it.”

“So you think my hair is adorable,” I laughed.

“Yep, and you’re just plain adorable so it’s like super adorable,” He chuckled before giving me another kiss.

Soon I got up and took a shower while Josh went out to practice. After I was all dressed and ready I woke up the kids and made them some breakfast. They played and I did all my normal mommy stuff, I didn’t have to go into the office today which was really nice and because of this Josh only practiced half the day and spent the rest with us. Our family moment was ruined by the door opening loudly and slamming again.

“Hi Todd,” I greeted a very angry looking Todd who was holding Jayden.

“Hi,” He grunted.

“Toddie Bear!” Emma shouted while going over and hugging his leg.

“Hey Em,” Todd managed to smile at her.

“Emma come here,” Josh said while opening his arms for her as she came over. “Why don’t you go play upstairs while mommy and daddy talk to Todd and when we’re are done, we’ll be up to play with you.”

“Okay daddy,” She agreed while trotting upstairs.

I sat in a chair across from Todd with Christian in my lap while Josh went over and sat down next to his friend.

“What’s up?” Josh asked.

“Where’s Ky and Mason?” I questioned him.

”With Tanner,” He shot at me. “I came home and Kylee was kissing that scum bag.”

Josh and I shared a look before he went on.

“I’m so mad right now. She married me and she went off and kissed another guy!” He shouted.

“But she did have a baby with him, she has some kind of attachment to him,” I tried to rationalize this.

“That’s what upsets me. Yeah I understand if you kissed someone else, it would make me kind of upset but we could work it out. But the problem with this is I don’t know if she really does love me more than him,” Todd sighed.

I got up and took Jayden from him and placed Jayden and Christian on a blanket on the floor with some toys. I then went back over and gave him a big hug.

“I love her so much Kirstie, I don’t know what I’d do without her,” Todd said in an almost pleading tone I had never heard him use before.

“It’s going to be okay Todd,” I tried to soothe him.

“Don’t worry bro, we got your back,” Josh smiled while putting a hand on his shoulder.

The three of us talked for a while before he scooped up Jayden and went back home. We offered for him to stay here but he said he wanted to be alone with his son.

“I should have went to school to be a counselor or therapist, I would have made a lot of money this week,” Josh joked as Christian tottled over to him.

”Josh,” I shot at him playfully. “They’re our friends, they helped us when we needed it.”

“I was kidding,” He rolled his eyes with a chuckle.

“Christian, say Daddy you’re bad,” I giggled.

“Dada bad!” He squealed while wiggling around in Josh’s arms then clapped his hands.

“He’s such a rad little dude,” Josh smiled while kissing his cheek and I did right after him.

Christian then leaned up and left a sloppy kiss on Josh’s cheek and mine as well. It was so cute! We then proceeded upstairs to play with Emma. I sure do love my family and I hope Kylee can figure out what she wants so she can be just as happy.
