We've Got It All Figured Out... For Now

They’ll Like You

“Are you ready for your first day of kindergaten Emma?” Josh asked while we ate breakfast.

“I’m nervous,” She pouted.

“Aw honey,” I cooed while kissing her cheek. “You’ll be fine.”

“But what if the other kids don’t like me,” She whined.

“Of course they’ll like you,” Josh reassured her.

“And Mason is going to sweetie,” I smiled at her.

So Emma is starting school today. I’m going to miss having my little girl around all day! But as you can see she’s a little nervous. Mason is going to the same school too which I’m really glad they’ll be together. My dad is watching Christian this morning while Josh and I take Emma.

“Okay I think we need to get going,” Josh spoke up.

“I’ll go get my backpack,” Emma said while trotting out of the kitchen and grabbing her bag.

We helped her with her shoes and Josh draped one of his hoodies around my shoulders as we got into the car. Josh drove to Tanner’s house and we picked up Ky, Tanner and Mason.

“Ready for school, Mase?” I asked as he buckled himself into the seat next to Emma in the backseat.

“No,” He pouted. “But I’m happy Emma is going to be with me.”

“Mason is cute,” Emma giggled while they held hands.

“Mason’s daddy is cute,” Ky spoke up.

“No, Emma’s daddy is cute,” I grinned. “Tanner is… no…just no.”

“Tanner is adorable and Mason got his adorableness from Tanner,” Kylee battled. “Emma’s only cute because all little girls are cute and she looks like Kirstie.”

“But Christian is cute and he’s a little mini Josh,” I smiled.

“That’s only because all kids under the age of six are extremely adorable,” She rolled her eyes.

“As long as Kirstie thinks I’m gorgeous, I don’t care if every other girl think I’m gross,” Josh smirked.

“Well good because every other girl does think you’re gross,” Ky laughed.

“He’s adorable and I love him,” I cooed.

“I’m thinking this argument isn’t going to end soon,” Tanner snickered.

We all chatted a while longer before we arrived at the school. We got the kids out and I held one of Emma’s hands while Josh held the other. Kylee and Tanner did the same with Mason too.

“I really can’t see Josh in a kindergarten,” Ky giggled as we walked down the hall.

“Why not?” Josh asked.

“Because you always have a bad attitude look on your face and all your tattoos and tough guy-ness just doesn’t fit in a kindergarten!” She laughed.

“I just get that bad attitude look on my face around you,” Josh chuckled.

We then arrived at the door of the kindergarten. All of us had already met the teacher and she was super nice. There were a bunch of kids in there with their parents. We went in and hung up Emma’s backpack and helped her find her seat which was right next to Mason’s because it’s alphabetical by last name and F just happens to be next to G.

“You’ll have so much fun today Emma, don’t worry,” Josh reassure our daughter while he rubbed her back. “And it’s only for half a day.”

“You will be fine. You and Mason will have lots of fun like Daddy said and you’ll get to make some new friends,” I smiled. “I love you sweetie.”

“I love you mommy,” She replied while we shared a hug and a kiss.

“Hey, I need some of that,” Josh grinned while she turned to him and they did the same.

Kylee, Tanner, Josh and I all went to the door and waved to our kids before leaving. I’m sure she’ll be fine just like Josh said.
