We've Got It All Figured Out... For Now

We Should Just Elope

Tonight, I was determined to make dinner! Tanner’s actually home from a busy European Rally schedule. We went out last night since he was home, but tonight we’re together… and I invited the Grants.

Josh’s shoulder is improving. He’s still not back on his bike yet… and he’s still a little ray of sunshine from not riding. By now though, most of us have learned how to deal with him… by ignoring him.

“I find something so sexy about you cooking,” Tanner mumbled as he walked behind me, placed his hands on my hips, and pressed his lips against my neck.

“I find something so sexy about you leaving kisses on my neck,” I giggled, reaching my hand back to run my hand through his thick hair.

“Maybe I should give you a few extra ones… I kind of… can’t stay for dinner,” he went on while resting his chin on my shoulder.

“Tanner,” I sighed, not too happy about it.

“Top Gear needs me, baby. I’m sorry. I’ll be back late tonight though,” he cooed holding onto me tightly.

It’s hard to be mad at him when he’s this cute. He went on to give me a few kisses before he went and told the boys goodbye. Mason was a little bummed that his daddy was leaving, but the second Emma came through the front door, he was just fine.

“Where’s the nerdy one?” Kirstie asked after her and Josh walked into the kitchen.

“Something to do with one of his shows,” I shrugged.

“Aw, your brains are gone,” she had to go on and tease. It did make me smile though.

A little while later, dinner was ready. Everyone crowded around the table. Mason and Emma made sure that they were sitting right beside each other though. Those two… it has reached the beyond aw stage now. It’s like everything they do around each other is the cutest little thing.

Christian and Jayden seem like they’re going to be best buds though. They babble all the time around each other. It’s adorable. I love my two babies… and of course the Grant babies too.

“Have you and Tanner talked about taking the next step in your relationship?” Josh spoke up for once.

It shocked me that he brought this up. For one, he’s a guy. They don’t really care too much about other’s relationships. And two… he’s just Josh. He doesn’t care too much about anything but his bike and his family, which there is totally nothing wrong with that.

“Nope,” I replied after my little moment.

“Why not?” he asked, wrinkling up his eyebrow… after he took a bit of food. Ew, Josh!

“We’ve mentioned it to each other once or twice, but… nothing’s came of it,” I shrugged.

“You guys have been together for a while though and you have a son… why not?” Kirsite asked.

“I think we’ve been through this before,” I muttered, grinning down at Jayden who was looking up at me.

“Well, that’s what people do when they love each other,” she went on.

I wanted to make a comment about Todd and I’s relationship, but didn’t want to shift the mood of our whole night from one little remark.

“I told Tanner we should just elope,” I giggled while puling Jayden onto my lap.

“Well, fine. Don’t have your best friends involved,” Josh muttered… with food still in his mouth.

“But… I don’t want this huge wedding… if Tanner and I even get married. Plus, his next race is in Vegas,” I couldn’t help but smile.

“I knew you two would get married in Vegas one way or another,” Kirstie snickered.

“Vegas is our city. We’d have to do something with it,” I smiled.

“Aw, you want to marry your Tanny,” Kirstie cooed.

“I always wanted to… we just never got that far,” I replied softly, leaving a kiss on top of Jayden’s head.

This ended our wedding conversation. I was happy for this. Kirstie and Josh stayed a little after dinner. Once they left, I gave my boys baths and then put them to bed. Since Tanner said he was going to be home late, I planted myself on the couch, waiting for him. Apparently, I fell sleep though. The next thing I know, I’m being carried up the stairs by a warm pair of arms.

“Go back to sleep, baby,” Tanner softly spoke while lying down in bed with me.

“As long as you hold me,” I muttered, still half asleep.

He let out a soft little chuckle before his arms tightened their grip around me. He went on to leave a few kisses here and there before quietly saying that he loved me. I returned his words and nuzzled my way into his chest.

I know it’s the ‘morally’ correct thing to do to get married, but… we’re both so happy. Granted, I would love to be his wife. At the end of the day though, we’re still together… and I’m just as joyous with that fact.
