Aim High, Never Rest

James was putting sunscreen on my arms when it all of a sudden it got kind of loud on the other side of the pool. I turned my head to the commotion and seen two girls and three other boys standing around. "I'll be right back." James said to me as he got up from the seat and walked over to the group.

I rubbed in the access sunscreen that was left on my arms. "I called the pool first." I happen to over hear one of the boys say. Seems like they were fighting over the pool. That reminds me. I looked at my watch and saw the time. I still had to unpack my clothes. I begin to pack the little things back into my bag, I even took the sunscreen that James had brought over here because well it was some good sunscreen.

Just when I got up to leave James came back over. "You're leaving already?" He asked with a puppy dog face. It was kind of cute.

"Well yeah, I have to attend to some business." I gave him a small smile And walked passed him. I was almost to the elevators when I heard James calling after me. I stopped and looked behind me.

"You know I could help you with whatever you have to do." Even though it would take quite some time to get my room together, I still didn't feel comfortable with someone I just meet in my hotel room.

"Hm I think I got it on my own." I showed a nice smile and stepped through the elevator doors.

"Wait I didn't even get your name!"

I chuckled at him. "Carley." I managed to say before the automatic doors closed on their own. Now he knows my name.

I walked to my room on the third floor. Right when I walked in my cell phone begin to ring. I looked at the caller id and was my mother. I sat my phone on the kitchen counter and let it ring. Ill call her back later. I then begin started to get my things situated. I was done in about an hour. It surprisingly didn't take me that long. I still had some time on my hands. So I decided to go take a look around and give myself a tour. I grabbed my phone off the counter and headed out the door.

Stepping out of the elevator there weren't as many people in the lobby that were there before but it was still a good amount of people. I sort of expected to see James down here, maybe he could be a better person to have a tour with. But there was no sign of him. In the lobby sat a girl that seemed very anxious, like she was waiting on something...or someone. She looked bored too, seemed easy enough to talk to. I also remembered her from the pool earlier.

"Hi," I walked over to her. "Is anyone sitting here?" I asked giving off a friendly smile, pointing to the seat next to her.

The girl looked at me from her seat. "Oh of course not."

I sat down next to her. "I'm Carley by the way, I'm new to Palm Woods...today."

"Yeah I've notice you from the pool. You were with James and he was putting sun tan lotion on you."

I felt my cheeks get a little warm from the mention of that. I mean I knew people saw but hearing it from someone was weird. "Uh yeah, he was just helping me that's all." I stammered out.

"Its okay really," She smiled. "I'm Kandi." She stuck out her hand to shake and I shook it. Some people came over to us after exiting the elevator and starting a whole dramatic commotion over some girl named Maxine and how she was really mean to the guy named Kendall. They soon left to go their separate ways, leaving me and Kandi alone to continue our conversation before a guy came over and took her. She looked relieved that he had finally came. Seems like I made a new friend or at least hope I hope so.

I had the rest of the day to myself. But for some reason I had a feeling that I wasn't just gonna see James once today. I smiled a little at the thought of that.
