Hollywould Fix

"Hello! Anybody home?" I called as soon as I opened the front door.

Alex snuck in behind me. "I never thought I'd see this place again."

Alex brought in my suitcase and we began up the stairs.

"Reina, honey, you're back safe and sound," gushed Mama Wentz wrapping me up in a huge hug. Then she smacked me upside my head.

"Ow!"

"Don't you ever do that again. You had us worried to death. Peter thought you'd leave and blow off some steam and come back home but when you didn't and then you wouldn't answer your cell phone he got so worried. He was up all night calling around to hospitals and hotels to see if you were there."

"He did?" I couldn't help but be touched.

"And who is this gentleman," she asked. I could tell by her tone that she was giving him the once over.

"This is my...um..."

"Alex Daughtry," he interjected, "Her boyfriend."

I couldn't help but smile.

"Boyfriend? I wasn't aware that you had a boyfriend Reina."

"We took a little break but now we're back together," he answered for me.

Mom looked at me skeptically and I nodded confirming his story.

"Well then thank you for bringing her back home safely."

"Of course."

"Oh Alex this is Pete's mom."

"I know who she is." He smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Well mom Alex is just going to help me unpack my stuff."

"Reina is that you," called Pete's groggy voice. He appeared in the hallway. He looked terrible, his skin was pale and his eyes were red. Wordlessly, he pulled me into him, holding me tightly like he was scared I would disappear if he let go. I wrapped my arms around him back burying my face in his chest and breathing in his familiar comforting scent. "I'm sorry," he whispered, "I'm so sorry. Do you forgive me?"

I nodded my head still buried in his chest. I pulled away to wipe a few stray tears that had managed to escape.

"Alex," Pete said almost in a whisper like he was just registering the significance of who else was present and its meaning.

"Hey Pete how's it going?"

Instead of responding to Alex's friendly open hand Pete looked back at me hurt.

"What, are you back with him now..."

"Pete..."

"After what he did to you..."

"Pete..."

"You're just going to go back to him?! First you're with Ryan now 12 hours later you're back with Alex! Do you even know what you want anymore?! You're acting like a little..."

"PETER!" That last one came from Mama Wentz whose thunderous expolsion of her son's name made me jump. "That's enough."

He took a moment to calm down. "When he breaks your heart again I'm not going to fix it this time," he whispered.

"Pete..." He walked away without giving me a chance to explain.
