The Last Fight

Teenage Mutant Ninja Angel

I was sitting on my bed in the hotel room that I was sharing with Dean who felt safer when I was in the room with him; it had been a week since Sam and Bristol left which Dean filled with non-stop hunting. We had just killed some vampires so Dean was in the bathroom cleaning the blood off his jacket; I had just finished taking a shower so I was just waiting for my brother to finish.

“Don’t do that!” He yelled as he jumped in shock when he saw Castiel suddenly appear behind him; I laughed at my brother’s reactions causing him to roll his eyes at me but I personally thought it was hilarious, although it’s not funny when Castiel scares me like that.

“Hello Dean, hello Bristol” Castiel said looking at Dean though the mirror before he turned and looked back at me; a small smile formed on his lips as his beautiful blue eyes stared deep into mine and I was so thankful that Dean couldn’t see the way Castiel was looking at me.

“Cas we’ve talked about this, personal space. How’d you find us? I thought we were flying below the angel radar” Dean said once Castiel apologized for standing too close to him and took a step back; Dean picked up his jacket and walked over to me before placing his jacket over the back of a chair.

“You are. Bobby told me where you both were. Have you heard from Sam or Bristol?” Castiel asked us as Dean sat down beside me; lately Dean’s been acting differently when Castiel is around and I have no idea why, it seems like Dean wants to protect me from Castiel because he’s always making sure to be near me when Castiel is with us.

“Sam and Bristol are taking a little vacation for a while. So did you find God yet? More importantly, can Bailey have her damn necklace back please?” Dean said knowing that I was still upset with not being able to wear my necklace; although I did have a feeling that Castiel knew this as well so I was just hoping that I’d get it back soon.

“No, I haven’t found him. That’s why I’m here, I need your help. It’s not God, it’s someone else. It’s an archangel, the one who killed me. His name is Raphael” Castiel told us which surprised me because if this Raphael guy killed Castiel then he could kill Dean and I in a blink of an eye; so I was a bit unsure about helping Castiel this time.

“You were wasted by a teenage mutant ninja angel?” Dean asked with a smile before I hit him around the back of the head for his remark; Dean gave me his ‘what was that for’ look making me give him a firm look and shake my head at him.

“I have heard whispers that he’s walking the earth, this is a rare opportunity for information. We must trap him and interrogate him. Dean you are Michael’s vessel and Bailey you are Michael’s sword, no angel will dare harm either of you” Castiel told us as I ran my hand through my still damp hair because this was a hunt that I wasn’t looking forward to; I didn’t want to trap and interrogate an archangel that was like suicide.

“Oh so your using us as your bullet shield” Dean said once he realised what Castiel was getting at and he wasn’t liking any of it; I knew Dean would die before he put me in any danger and Castiel knew that because he’s seen how over protective Dean can get with me.

“I need your help, because you two are the only ones who will help me. Please” Castiel said to us softly and I looked up at him knowing that I would help him; and if I had to then I would also make Dean help us but I had a feeling that he would agree to help along with me.

“Okay fine, we’ll help you. Where is he?” Dean said after he thought for a few seconds causing a smile to form on my lips; I wrapped my arms around my brother and hugged him tightly as a thank you.

“Maine, let’s go” Castiel said making Dean and I stand up off the bed; Castiel raised his hands up to touch our foreheads but Dean leaned back and stopped him, the last time Castiel did that to both of us it had a bad ending.

“Whoa! Last time you zapped me some place I didn’t poop for a week! We’re driving” Dean told him before he grabbed his bag and jacket; I smiled at Castiel as I too grabbed my duffle bag from the small table and walked out to the Impala.

Waterville, Maine

“A deputy sheriff laid eyes on the archangel, we’ll tell the officer that he witnessed an angel of the lord. And the officer will tell us where the angel is” Castiel told us as the three of us climbed out of the Impala; I smiled as Castiel looked between us thinking his idea would actually work and I thought it was so adorable how native he was.

“You’re serious? You’re going to walk in there and tell them the truth? No way Castiel we’re humans and when humans want something really bad, we lie” Dean told him as he pulled out one of his fake badges and tucked it into Castiel’s coat; before he did up the top button of Castiel’s shirt and tightened his tie.

“Now you two go and get as much information as you can, I’ll wait out here for you both” I told them as I grabbed my laptop from the back seat and climbed up onto the Impala’s bonnet; I turned my laptop on as I watched Dean and Castiel walk into the Police station while I checked my emails, Bristol and I had been emailing each other which Dean nor Sam knew about.

Dean and I were sitting in an old house waiting for Castiel to return from… well wherever he was; I was looking through Dad’s journal for anything that could be useful but I knew it was a waste of time because Dad knew next to nothing about angels.

“Where have you been?” Dean asked when Castiel appeared in front of us and he was holding a jug of something; apparently we had to do some sort of ritual to trap Raphael and I was nervous already because I’ve seen what a vessel looks like after the angel is finished with them and it’s horrible.

“Jerusalem, I found the oil. It’s very special and very rare, the ritual has to be at sunrise” Castiel told us as Dean and I stood up while I placed Dad’s journal back into my duffle bag; I looked over at Dean letting the worry shine through my eyes which I hated doing but I honestly was scared about seeing this archangel.

“Tell me something Cas. You keep saying we’re going to trap this guy, but isn’t that kind of like trapping a hurricane with a butterfly net?” I asked Castiel softly as I looked up at him causing Dean to place his hand on my back; he rubbed my back in comfort as we waited for Castiel’s answer.

“No, it’s harder. You both have a chance of surviving this, I on the other hand do not” Castiel told us as he looked back at me and I bit down on my bottom lip which was a nervous habit of mine; I blinked eyes so tears didn’t form at the thought of losing him again.

“Wow. Well, last night on earth. What are your plans? I know what you need, booze and women” Dean said smiling at a now very worried looking Castiel and I had a hard time to keep myself from bursting out in laughter; Castiel in a strip club didn’t go together at all which is what makes it so funny.

Later On

“Bailey wait” Castiel said to me once I had opened the door to the old house we were in before; just as Castiel talked lightning filled the room across from them and the man from the hospital was standing in the middle of it, causing Dean to rush up behind me and grab onto the back of my shirt in case I needed his protecting.

“Castiel, it is a testament to my unending mercy that I don’t smite you’re friends here and now. I know a lot about you Dean and Bailey, and now thanks to him, I know where both of you are” Raphael said to us in a deep voice that sent a shiver down my spine and not in a good way; Dean and Castiel walked past me so I was safely behind them.

“You won’t kill them, you wouldn’t dare” Castiel said to him firmly which he had reassured me a number of times before so I was hoping that he was right; I watched as Dean walked forward and picked up a beer from the cooler that was on the floor, I had no idea how he could drink at a time like this.

“But I will take them to Michael. I’m sure you both remember Zachariah giving Bailey here stomach cancer, well he doesn’t have anything close to my imagination” Raphael told us dangerously causing Dean to smile at him unlike me who winced at the memory; Dean slowly started to walk closer to Raphael with his ‘I know something, you don’t’ smile.

“We knew you were coming, you stupid son of a bitch” Dean said as Castiel opens a lighter and flicks it alight before he dropped it onto the circle of oil that was surrounding Raphael; the oil went up in flames that were almost waist-high and I instantly felt more safe knowing Raphael couldn’t get to us now.

“Where is he? Where’s God?” Castiel asked Raphael as he stepped closer to the flames as I walked forward so I was standing beside Dean; I wanted to be closer to Dean and to Castiel because this was the moment that we were waiting for.

“Didn’t you hear? He’s dead, Castiel. You think God let you return, but did it ever occur to you that maybe Lucifer raised you? Think about it, he needs all the rebellious angels he can find. You know it adds up, Castiel” Raphael said making me instantly look over at Castiel who was now frowning at Raphael; that was not the answer we were looking for or wanting.

“Let’s go” Castiel said as he turned around causing Dean and I to walk around the room collecting our bags; I put my duffle bag over my shoulder before I walked past Raphael and joined Castiel while Dean grabbed his bags and the cooler.

“Castiel, I’m warning you. Do not leave me here, I will find you” Raphael warned him as Dean stood on my other side and wrapped his arm around my shoulders; he started leading me out of the house letting Castiel follow us and I actually felt good about leaving Raphael there, he’s getting what he deserved.

We climbed into the Impala with Castiel letting me have the front seat which could only mean that he probably wouldn’t be hanging around too long; I sat beside Dean and placed the seat belt across my body before Dean started driving off, but not before he took his jacket off and placed it over me because he knew that I would fall asleep during the drive and it wasn’t long before my eyes were closing and I had asleep while Dean asked Castiel if he was okay.
