Time To Lay Claim to the Evidence

Chapter 10 - End

"Yeah I am," Shaant replied.

"Shaant I-"

"Don't apologize woman! Go find Alex before I kick your butt!"

"Now you're threatening me? I have such loving friends!" Chloe yelled jokingly before hugging Shaant and running off towards the Hurley stage where they'd be playing in less than ten minutes. She ran towards Alex who was standing alone tuning his guitar while the others stood off a few feet away talking.

"Come to yell at me again?" Alex asked bitterly.

"Surprisingly not. Um...about not missing you?"

"What?"

"I actually do," she replied.

"For serious?"

Chloe nodded, "I miss my best friend. I miss sharing a bunk with you even though we both have our own. I miss your stupidity when I'm in a bad mood and your lame attempts at cheering me up."

"You aren't screwing around with my head right?" Alex asked.

"Definitally not."

Alex grinned dropping his guitar to the grass before pulling Chloe into a hug lifting her feet off the ground. He was called to do their set and for the first time in weeks Chloe actually watched All Time Low play their set flawlessly; Jack adorned in the Get Low booty shorts that were sold at the merch booth, the others pulling off their shirts mid set because of the heat.

"I'd like to dedicate this song to my favourite girl in the world, Chloe this one's for you!" Alex said into the mic, glancing in my direction at the side of the stage. I grinned at him before the familiar lyrics of Vegas.

"Tonight, we lie awake
Remember how the coffee made us shake on those long drives?
One more long night

Another seven days
Heartbeat racing
The interstate, my home tonight
For one more long night
I'm sure as hell the happiest I've ever been

We get high, we let go
We've got more than we know
My friends are a different breed
My friends are

There's a ghost in this room
I think I'll name it after all of you
And watch it hang over my bed like decorations celebrated
Memories, they came and went in light of all the time we spent
Listening to everything our parents told us not to take in

Now make a change
I'm counting down
The mile marks to every town
And falling more in love
With the distance put between us

We get high, we let go
We've got more than we know
My friends are a different breed
My friends are everything
Make this last, take it slow
We've got it all figured out for now
So let us live our lives without a doubt

Tonight we lie awake
Remember how the coffee made us shake on those long drives?
One more long night
Another seven days
Heartbeat racing
The interstate, my home tonight
For one more long night

From coast to coast, I'll make the most
Of every second I've been giving with this crowd
Without a doubt, you're all I dream about
At night we lie awake
With stories taking us back to the nights we felt alive
The nights we felt alive

I would've married you in Vegas
Had you given me the chance to say "I do"
Couldn't make it anymore obvious, could you
Be anymore obvious

I would've married you in Vegas
Had you given me the chance to say "I do"
Couldn't make it anymore obvious, could you
Be anymore obvious, could you?"

They came off stage and Chloe was waiting for Alex.

"I remember when you first played me that song," Chloe said, a smile tugging at her lips.

"I mean every word of it Cole," Alex said his eyes meeting her own.

"A week ago I would've doubted that," Chloe answered truthfully, as she laced her fingers with Alex's.

"Cole?"

"What?"

"I love you," he said his face growing closer to hers.

"I love you too," Chloe smiled before closing the gap between them.
