"I'll take you home." He said
"I don't know." She replied
He was the boy her cousin had warned her about, Slade Echeverria.
"Emma,Remember,whatever you do stay away from Slade."
She was at her Cousin Adam's 19 Birthday party, every one was wasted, aside from Slade. She had walked to her cousins house considering it was just a couple a blocks. It was almost midnight now and there was no way in hell she was walking back home, alone.
"Unless you want to walk home?" He suggested
"No,no." She shook her head
He lightly placed his hand on her shoulder and smiled "Come on then."
She smiled and ignored the electricity that ran up her back when he touched her
"Okay." She finally said
They reached her house and she thanked him. She opened the door and got out of the car, Slade quickly grabbed her wrist. "Wait."
"Can you, uhm, well like not tell Adam about this?"
She looked at him "Why?"
"Well you know how Adam is, he would freak."
"I guess so." She nodded
He smiled and she shut his car door and watched him drive away
Adam never found out about the night Slade took her home. Slade didn't know he had driven away with Emma's heart and Emma didn't know Slade had taken it.
[6 months later]
"Psst."
Emma jumped and looked over at her window.
"Slade! What the hell are you doing here!" She yelled worried that her cousin would arrive any second
"Open the fuckin' window!" Slade said grabbing onto the tree branch he held onto tighter
She let Slade in and he jumped through the window
"You know ever since you moved in with Adam, It's been much harder to see you." He said bringing her into a hug
"I also don't know why you let Adam pick your friends."
"He doesn't pick my friends!" She stated
"Right." Slade said sarcastically
"Shut up." She said rolling her eyes
"Anyways, I'm here to tell you that Mike's throwing a party and you should come."
"Slade...Adam's going to be there"
He put his index finger up "This is no ordinary party, it's a..wait for it.....COSTUME PARTY!" Slade said throwing his hands in the air
Emma groaned "I don't know Slade."
"Please, Best Friend!" He said sticking out his bottom lip
"Ugh, fine."
"YAY!" Slade said giving her a hug
The front door opened, and shut again
"Shit,Adams' here you should go." Emma said
"Kay, see you later!" With that he jumped onto the tree and onto the ground
The Door swung open
"Hey Em." Adam said
"Whats up."
"Well, I'm actually going to a Party right now."
"Okay." She answered
"You good, alone?" He asked
"Yeah. it's good."
"Alright." He smiled "Be safe, don't let creepers in the house." He laughed and walked away
She quickly opened her closet "What the hell am I going to wear."
Then she smiled to her self, she reached all the way into the back of her closet and took out a box.In It,was a costume that her friend gave her last year that she never wore.It even had a short black wig to cover her light brown hair. She put the mask on and smiled into her mirror
"Perfect."
