The Boarders

A loud beeping rang through my ears, it penetrated my dreams and woke me up. I frowned and turned to see that an alarm, one I'd never seen before, was sat on my desk. I sat up and slowly moved forward to switch it off. I saw a note on it,

James, Angela, Drew and I have gone to buy him new uniform and such. Get the bus to Aunt Viv's and have lunch there, love Dad. I sighed, that meant I was home alone. I hated being home alone, it was sort of scary. It was 9am now, that meant I had 3 hours until I had to head over to my Aunts.

I showered and changed into jeans and a top, I started up my computer and browsed aimlessly on facebook and tumblr. There was nothing that interesting until something popped up on Skype.

Nina Arches is calling you I clicked accept,

"Hey James, how are you sweety"

"Good thanks mom, how about you" I smiled at her long blond hair and happy face, she was sat outside from what I could see and she had large sunglasses,

"I'm just great, how's Drew?"

"Fine"

"Now baby, I don't know if you know anything yet but because I might not see you on here for a while, congratulations and I love you so much!"

"What? Why?" I smiled at her, slightly confused,

"Ah I didn't think you'd know yet... Are you going to your Aunts house today?" I nodded, "Well then.. Tell her I said hi and tell Drew I love him, sorry baby I have to go now, on the night shift! I love you!"

"..What? Ah... Bye mom I love you!"

Call has ended duration : 1.23 I sighed, 1 minute and 23 seconds of time with my Mother who lived in Australia and whom I never saw was not really enough. And seeing as she was being rather weird it didn't really count as much. I sighed again before pottering around the house, looking for things to keep me entertained before I left for the bus.

I finally arrived at Aunt Viv's house, I looked at the house. The curtains were drawn and there were no cars outside. I knocked on the door any how, hoping someone would answer.

"Oh James! You're here, come in come in" Aunt Viv smiled at me and ushered me inside quickly,

"Your Dad should be here in a couple minutes, we're all having a nice lunch together" She smiled and followed me into the kitchen, she carried on cutting her salad and cooking a soup,

"Aunt Viv, why are there no cars here?" I questioned her,

"Oh well mine's at the garage and your Dad decided to drive to the shops instead of getting the train like they planned" She was acting strange but I nodded.

I watched TV for a while until the doorbell rang, Aunt Viv sprinted to the door before I could,

"I'll get it you carry on watching TV!" She yelled and then whispered something when she answered the door, I stood up and looked through the door way but she had already ushered the people through. I sat back down, confused by the weirdness of today.

"Hey there James, how are you?" my step Mom walked in,

"Fine Angela, what's going on? It's been really weird today.." She opened her mouth to answer when my Dad came in, made a quick motion to her and she followed. I sat there even more confused than ever.

"James? Come here love!" My Aunt called me into the kitchen, I walked through the hallway, the lights were off in the kitchen but there was a small glow somewhere,

"Congratulations!" Everyone yelled when I came through, I saw a large cake with congratulations written in green icing, I was handed a letter,

Dear Mr. J. Samuels,

i am writing to invite you to become a student at Rookwood, each year we invite a certain amount of students to become boarders at Rookwood and this year I believe you are one of them. You have the right grades and skills to board at Rookwood for free. Please call me as soon as you read this letter,

I looked up in disbelief, I was going to Rookwood? I looked at Drew who was smiling. I would finally be going to school with Drew.
